We arrived by night at the end of a long trail by moonlight. The guy at the front desk was very pretentious, not listening to us and just saying his lesson.in addition the front desk is very uncomfortable because there is no light and no space. To Check your bill you need your iPhone light.

Furthermore, Anytime you go through the front desk they just say hello (if you say hello first) and they are of no help at all : we wanted to make a reservation at a restaurant and the front desk lady did anything she could not to help us ! At last a nice guy called Shaker made the reservation for us.

Fortunately The buggy guy Who took us to our Cabin explained everything to us very nicely (sorry I forgot his name but I do remember The name of Alfredo from Kenya who was very nice to us after supper). And a big thank you to Abdullah from Bangladesh who helped us with our luggage when we left.
We had supper in the restaurant and Asnar and Nicolas made us appreciate this moment. And the food was really delicious

The room is nice but The display is not easy and it’s difficult to store your stuff : there is not enough room in the dressing room.
And don’t ask for cabin number three : it’s just like The most crowded Crossroad with electric cars : it never stops. It is too close to the reception.
But we did appreciate the electric bikes that are at your disposal in all the cabins.

The Wake up in the morning is just magic : you discover this canyon all around and very young trees that try to grow up.
How nice to relax on the big and very comfortable private terrace.
There is limited privacy on the terrace of the room. That might be a problem in this country.

Breakfast is not included in the room and the price is just prohibitive .

The swimming pool is amazing but not heated…. that mustn’t be a problem during summer !
Our last concern is about the wood architecture of the room which is nice but seem very fragile.
don’t forget your adapters because the sockets are not standardized .
But the housekeeper was doing a great job and the cleanliness of the room is really perfect.
In spite of all our critics we will always cherish and remember these three days.

Dear SandrineRe, Thank you for your detailed and valuable feedback. Truly appreciate your comments about the magic of the resort, the landscape and our attention to cleanliness. There is also a lot to learn from and improve on from the feedback you provided, the task lighting is a great idea for sure. I am however, disappointed at the experience you had at the front desk, I will be sure to relay this feedback to them and try and understand how we can enhance the atmosphere. You will be glad to know that the pool will be heated soon so it can be enjoyed during winter months as well. With regards to the materials used to build the villas, yes they are all natural however, I assure they have all passed safety checks save for the occasional rattling from the strong winds. We will definitely look into reinforcing the canopy and roofing to help minimize the sound. Universal adapters are also available upon request. Once again thank you very much for your feedback and look forward to meeting you again personally the next time you visit.

Incredible location however the resort needs to find a solution to several issues including a lack of hot water in the rooms during the winter months and availability of transportation to local venues. Staff hospitality was acceptable but it is anticipated that this will improve with experience. A better standard of hospitality was expected taking into consideration the exceptionally high room tariff.

Dear thesaudibaron2022, Thank you so much for your constructive feedback. The lack of hot water was an unprecedented challenge we faced as the temperature dropped this season. We have since started to solve this issue by reinforcing the heating system in each villa with a more reliable system. Transportation to local venues is available and can be booked through our Guest Experience centre and should have been communicated to you upon your arrival. We are consistently looking for ways to improve our services and offer a seamless and memorable experience to our visitors and your feedback, in particular, is instrumental to our success. Once again, thank you, and hope to welcome you to your Home in the magical city of AlUla again.

What’s not to like about Habitas….it’s absolutely incredible! We were greeted warmly by the staff. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. There are so many daily activities to participate in, or you can just relax at the spectacular pool and take in the magnificent cliff views, or treat yourself to a spa service.
I recommend renting your own car at the airport. You can drive to all the sights. You don’t need a SUV to visit the Rainbow Arch, Elephant Rock and Hegra. Park in the Hegra car park and then you will transfer to a larger vehicle to see the sights.
The breakfast at Habitas is outstanding, especially their ginger yogurt with honey, berries, walnuts and pistachios. Their green juice is also very tasty. There are so many choices you really can’t go wrong. Dinner was also delicious. We shared the wild salad, roasted cauliflower with lentil purée, and the mixed grill. Two lamb chops, two beef skewers, two chicken skewers, accompanied by grilled vegetables.
The rooms are impeccable with everything you need, minbar, snacks, coffee, tea, robes, slippers, and lovely bath products. The beds are extra large and extremely comfortable. Their linens and pillows provide a dreamy night sleep.
We’ve been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to stay at some of the most amazing resorts around the world in 105 countries.
Habitas in Alula has made it in our top ten destinations in the world.

Unfortunately Habitas was a big disappointment to us. Altough the setting is magical, the infrastructure of the hotel appears to be of poor standard, the walls are very thin, and the disposition of the room (we stayed in one of the Celestial Villas), especially in terms of wardrobe (very small space, somewhere over the minibar) no door) and bathroom (no separate toilet) is very disappointing (cf. pictures).
The concierge service was very inefficient, and didn’t help much (if at all). Each time we wanted to book an activity, we got directed to the local tourist office to do so on our own (quite unusual for a hotel of this standard (and price)).
Another big point is transportation: before arriving we were told that transportation to each activity would be arranged by the hotel, which we thought being a shuttle service from the hotel (since nobody told us about extra charges for transportation). Upon arrival we were told at the check-in that, the suggested transportation was a very pricy external service, and that it would be much cheaper to rent a car. When we tried to rent a car, after being directed to different car rental services by the concierge service (again no help here), we had to find out that no car was available anymore, and that we had no choice but to go with the expensive external transport service (every day, a couple of times).
In terms of restaurant (we stayed at Habitas for one entire week), there is only one option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is very small, and the food was average.
In summary, Habitas is definitely not worth its price.

For 2500 per night , we except hot water for showering, bathroom lighting was poor. We let guest services and house keeping know but nothing was done. We mentioned at checkout and we’re told the water temperature can be adjusted than why did no one respond. The weather was cold , it would be nice to even have a warm shower! Waited over half an hour for golf cart , ( phoned three times) would not have mattered if we did not have reservations and a concert to get to on time! For 2500 per night I would accept better service! Had better and paid less! Not worth the price!

Dear Anita435, Thank you so much for your valuable feedback. I apologize for the inconvenience in the buggy service and hope you enjoyed the concert at Maraya. The low lighting throughout the resort is part of the AlUla dark lighting policy which enables visitors to have an immersive experience under the AlUla starlit night sky. However, we will look into the bathroom lighting. The lack of hot water was an unprecedented challenge we faced as the temperature dropped. We have since started to solve this issue by reinforcing the heating system. Poor service, our chicken was burnt and the rest of the dinner bad quality all in all not worth the money you pay there.
For this price you expect fine dining and service.Unacceptable!
To be able to just go to eat at the restaurant there you have to have already a reservation otherwise they don’t let you in.And here again the problem that people doesn’t speak English and you can’ t communicate. Please invest money to educate people ,we finally could go to the hotel reception and make a reservation for dinner.
But at the end it was not worth the money.

I was dreaming about visiting the Nabataean tombs at Al Ula since I was a child, and was happy to hear that Alula is finally organised to make tourism easier, that’s why I planned to come all the way by car from Bahrain, I made a reservation at Al Ula habitas hotel via their site 3 months back on Dec 2021 and received an e.mail confirmation but never received from them any instructions regarding online self reservation of AlUla attractions visits ! I had no knowledge of this at all ! To my Disappointment when I checked in the hotel I was told by 2 receptionist Amna and Maram that all Al Ula attractions are fully booked and no way to visit them ! I asked them to arrange a private tour with private guide for any cost, but they said no way ! There was no concierge at the lobby and no help available for tourists! A young man called Abdulsalam from reception stepped forward and offered help and he promised to arrange a visit for us at 9 am the next day and we were happy to hear that, next day morning nothing was arranged, Abdulsalam disappeared and Amna and Maram said to us they know nothing about this arrangement! and could not help , we even learned that we can’t drive ourselves to the attractions coz it is not allowed, therefore we regrettably decided to check out from hotel and leave back home, We left the hotel angry, frustrated and hugely disappointed!
As far as the hotel is concerned, the location and natural views are stunning, the lobby is not impressive, the rooms are nice however the bed is surrounded by a large piece of wood which is disturbing, no bed side electrical sockets, the mini bar items are over priced, the night we spent there was extremely cold, windy and noisy. It was difficult to walk around the facility coz of the extreme cold weather 0-4 degrees c, so you need a gulfcart for transport and every time you want to move around you have to ask for it and wait for 10 minutes if you are lucky, the staff at the reception were not very welcoming and they lack experience, the food at the restaurant was excellent and very delicious.
I don’t think I will visit this hotel again, and I will make sure to reserve the attractions my self and not rely on the hotel .

Dear Jamila-Aldossary, I am truly disheartened that you couldn't have the experience you were so looking forward to. Booking the experiences in AlUla can be cumbersome during peak season and this definitely should have been communicated before your arrival. I am sure our dedicated Guest Experience team would've tried their best but of course there is little we can do when all the attractions and experiences are overbooked. We are glad you enjoyed the the food at the restaurant as well and hope that in spite of the bad experience you will choose to stay with us in the future and I would be more than happy to personally ensure your itinerary is handled beforehand. We are consistently looking for ways to improve our services and offer a seamless and memorable experience to our friends, and your feedback, in particular, is instrumental to our success. I do hope you will visit us again soon and look forward to meeting you in person.

I felt like I was outside our planet! This place is like no other place I've stayed before. Beautiful scenic surroundings of sand stones and rock formations right through the desert making it a visual treat! The villas looks very minimalist but are large and modern, complimenting the scenic view. They have electric bikes for guests to commute within the resort and also golf carts. The main restaurant overlooking a large pool serves some authentic Levant cuisine. The staff here are very friendly and polite, always with a genuine smile on their face, ready to help guests have a memorable stay. I'm sure they enjoy working there as much as I enjoyed spending my time there!
If you intend to visit AlUla, this is the place to be!

My expectations and what I received were misaligned. Billed as a luxury resort, this felt more like an upscale cabin. The setting was gorgeous and the property had many nice touches, such as the electric bikes. Having visited other resort properties in the region that have desert backdrops, the comparison is stark. The rooms at Habitas are not solidly built. Rain and wind kept me up most of the night both nights of my stay. The roof rattled loudly. The room was very cold during the winter months. The floor was creaky much like a cabin and there was no privacy in the bathroom which featured floor to ceiling windows with no shades. I could see people walking and in other villas as I showered. The price was astronomical for what you receive, especially during high season. Priced at around $1500 a night, the cost included breakfast, lodging, and a daily schedule of activities like yoga and meditation. Similarly priced Bedouin style villas in Dubai feature private pools, full board dining, activities each day, and a solidly built large private villa with a 5-star bathroom and bedroom. The concept in Al Ula is wonderful but execution leaves a lot to be desired, especially at the high price tag. Al Ula itself is beautiful but it is difficult to take advantage of the sites from this property. There are no tours or transportation services. The property would benefit from better integrating into the Al Ula cultural, historical, and natural sites and provide guests services to enjoy the local environment, as well as shuttle transportation from the local airport which is about 45 minutes away, and the downtown area, which is about 25 minutes away. Highly recommend a rental car to access this properly and avail yourself of what the rest of Al Ula has to offer.

If you are planning to visit Alula, save money to stay in Habitas! It's an expensive hôtel but there are no word to describe the poetic and lunar landscape of the Ashar Valley, surrounded by enormous sculptured mountains. The only downside: the quality and decoration of the individual villas do not correspond to the rating of such an establishment. The room is poorely lit and the salon area not at all. Impossible to read. The quality of the Wi Fi is +++.The very expensive restaurant offers only a limited variety of too sophisticated dishes. Impossible to get a plate of pastas for example! The service is very slow because of a bad logistic ( beverage coming from the bar outside and the food from the kitchen inside). The swiming pool is just amazing and heated. The staff coming from almost all around the world is warm, smiling, and available. In addition with the breathtaking landscape, it is the +++ of this hotel.
