Myself and my colleague are both vegetarians and Donna went above and beyond to provide something other than the usual standard mac n cheese for us. We had beetroot, brie & walnut wellington one night. I was there for an event, and after it, I asked Donna about lunch. She said she didn't normally do lunch but could easily make...

While up north it's now part of the visit to visit the restaurant. Once again not disappointed. The food is wonderful and plenty of it. The prices are very good leaving me always wondering how do they do it. Food is plentiful. Everything is cooked to perfection. You have to wait a bit as its freshly done and if you...

To be honest, the rooms are average and the food is OK. But price is very reasonable. However, I fell ill here when walking Lands End to John o Groats and could not have asked for a more kindly and caring landlady. She was brilliant, even offering a (free) extra night till I felt better. In addition, the Brown Trout...

The brown trout was out on a limb, but does very good food and has a reasonable priced bar, we chatted to a lot of locals and other tourists, the room was of adequate size. With all amenities, it was also en suite,

My friend and I were on a motorcycle tour of Scotland and were arranging accommodation as we went. We began to panic because we couldn't find anywhere in Caithness (apparently there's a huge demand for rooms for contractors in the region) but the Brown Trout had a cancellation and called us back saying they could fit us in. The staff...

Noticed this hotel driving back from Thurso to Wick and thought about dinner there. Great choice and so glad we stopped here. Staff were so welcoming and friendly and food was amazing! Not too prices either. Be warned!!....huge portions!! Especially the chocolate fudge cake which was to die for. Definitely worth the trip.

A little way out of Wick, but easy to find as it is on a cross roads. Plenty of parking, but the car park does have huge holes in it. The light over the car park has no bulb, so I did end up walking thru a deep hole while getting something from my car in the dark. Very reasonably...

Great place. Staff excellent. Food beautiful and plenty off it and great selection and local food on offer. Prices excellent against the quantity you receive and I mean massive portions. This is the place to go if in Wick or Thurso area. Visited many times over the years and never left disappointed. Look forward to my next visit.
