This is probably our 4th visit to Harmony House and each one is as good as the previous. Adele is a he consummate host, great communication and attention to detail, but is also such a nice friendly individual. The rooms are individually designed, thoughtfully fitted out and very comfortable; the level of cleanliness throughout is also very high. The icing on the cake is the home cooked breakfast with a a great choice of tasty and well prepared dishes. Even Lemon-curd/cheese as an option with your toast! Thank you again Adele, we will be as the next opportunity presents itself.

Just stopped 2 nights in November. Lovely bed and breakfast. We stopped in the Poppy room. Adele was lovely and could not do enough. Place was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was awesome in the Garden Room. Full English one day and eggs Benedict the next day. Tasted lovely. Toast too and preserves if you wish but we were stuffed. Room had an en-suite, again spotless, hairdryer for the missus, tea and coffee and a little fridge with some milk and locally sourced biscuits and handmade chocolates. That’s how to do a bed and breakfast. Great location. About 15 mins to park and ride into York.

We stayed in the Great Burnet room and the room overlooks the green. The bed was very comfy and the room was quiet so we slept well. Adele is a fantastic host, very welcoming and full of local knowledge. The room had everything you needed, you had fresh milk in the fridge, coffee and different teas. The breakfast was in the Garden room, again a lovely room. You chose your breakfast the night before and they are lovely and very filling. The house is not too far from a park and ride so you can easily get into York from there. We used the park and ride twice during our stay. This is a beautiful place to stay and Adele is a very friendly host who takes the time to speak to her guests. We would definitely recommend staying here. We hope to return soon

This is a wonderful cozy house, and a great place to stay if you want to close to a lot of places in Yorkshire. It's only a 15-20 minute drive to the York designer outlet and the park and ride there, which is very handy for travelling into York. The house itself has this lovely cozy warmth to it, with a clear style embedded in all the rooms and furnishings. There is a lounge room for guests to use with 2 large sofas and some leaflets on things to do nearby. There is also a super cozy reading nook on the first floor landing. Adele keeps everything super clean, could not find anything to fault her on from a cleanliness perspective. Harmony House offers a breakfast option, that you can book on arrival (as well as before arriving). Adele gives you the option to change your breakfast choice each night by providing a simple breakfast sheet within the room for you to leave out for her. Cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast itself as I did not partake in it. Having stayed in the cornflower room (the smallest of the rooms) I can say that all the rooms would be a good size with space to walk and move around. There was space to walk around the bed in the cornflower room, however the space was a little tight between the bed and the wardrobe/cupboard - really not an issue though! The cornflower room is at the front of the house and has a great view of the field area in front of the house. If you're really lucky you'll get to watcha couple of barn owls flying around. The ensuite is also tastefully decorated and furnished, with plenty of light throughout the room without being blinding. The free standing bath was lovely, made better by the complementary toiletries (hand soap, moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner, bath salts, bath soak). There are a couple of stairs from the landing into the room, and a couple of stairs from the bedroom area into the ensuite. These do not squeak and are quite easy to get up/down (even with suitcase outside the room). There is a lot of room outside the front of the house for car parking. It appears to be shared by all the houses along the front of the street, although there's virtually no problem with parking. Coming back late on a Saturday night was the hardest time to park but there were still spaces. From Harmony House you can easily get to a variety of places within Yorkshire by car. Which is excellent as it means you can explore many villages and towns nearby. Selby (~5minutes) and Malton (~30minutes) are really good places for getting food, and wandering around. Would recommend staying here if you want somewhere cozy, easy to find, and relatively close to York and a lot of surrounding villages/towns. Already looking at booking another stay!

Just got back from a fabulous four night stay at the beautiful Harmony House B&B. It is in a perfect location for visiting York (10mins from the Park and Ride), Whitby Abbey, Robin Hood Bay and The Yorkshire Dales.
The B&B is a perfect quiet retreat after sightseeing, as the rooms are lovely with ours looking out across The Green. Our room had a great shower, soft fluffy towels, comfy bed and a plentiful supply of teabags and biscuits to sit and enjoy the view from the large bay window. The lounge is also a beautiful place to sit and unwind, with tea and possibly a good book!
One of the highlights is the scrumptious freshly cooked to order breakfast each morning in the delightful garden room.
The host Adele is so lovely, warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was so helpful in offering advice on what to see and do during our stay. We would love to return one day.

Adele was the perfect host from start to finish! So welcoming on our arrival, she made us tea and biscuits after showing us around our room and advised on places nearby we may be interested in. We stayed in the Cornflower room which was clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. We had a selection of teas, coffees and hot chocolates in our room with fresh milk, bottled water and a little treat! We had a key for our room and the front door giving us freedom to come and go on our visit as we pleased. Breakfast was delicious, served in the beautiful Garden Room and for a very reasonable price! Adele was so lovely and positive of the area and surrounding areas. She was very happy to have conversations with her guests and took the time to get to know each of us. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and were just sad we only had 2 nights here! We will happily be back as soon as we can! Thank you again, Adele! We hope to see you soon!

What a stunning house! Tasteful and elegant decor throughout with homely features. Adele is the perfect host; attentive yet not overbearing and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious and couldn’t be faulted. The room was spotless with plenty of refreshments and little treats left for us to enjoy. We will definitely come back and highly recommend it. A true gem in the heart if God’s own County. Thank you Adele for a truly memorable weekend. Jan & Roy Wacker

What a beautiful B&B this is. I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our trip to York:) The B&B is set in a quiet village, which is close enough to York. It’s not in walking distance but we parked at the nearby park and ride (Outlet Village) and travelled in for one day, the following day we parked in a Q carpark near the Shambles - which was very convenient but obviously a little more pricey than our park and ride tickets. York is stunning, highly recommend a visit or two. There are also some gorgeous places to visit around the B&B too.
Adele our host was a font of knowledge, so that helped me plan my itinerary for the weekend. She is honestly the most wonderful, kind, and friendly host I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Nothing was too much trouble and she even went the extra mile to prepare us a wonderful Afternoon Tea upon our arrival for my partners Birthday surprise.
We stayed in the Great Burnet room with a King Size bed, gorgeous bay window with x2 comfortable armchairs to watch TV, mini fridge for drinks etc and a lovely shower room. Adele had even written a birthday card for my partner and left us a heart shaped box of Lindt Chocolates for a Valentines treat in our room. The bed was very comfortable, softness of the sheets were really nice too. Adele informed me they are Microfibre ones. The comfy armchairs were very much needed after walking miles around York, and the shower was lovely and spacious. It wasn’t a power shower, but was certainly powerful enough. Everywhere was very clean and the pictures just don’t do this place justice.
Breakfast on both days was truly wonderful, we throughly enjoyed it. Adele has a large fridge of drinks in the dining area if guests need to purchase champagne, wine, beers or soft drinks during their stay. I forgot to purchase some snacks while we were out in York, as we were planning to watch a film. I messaged Adele to see if she had any snacks to buy. Unfortunately she didn’t have any to purchase, but was kind enough to offer to make us some toast. I didn’t like to disturb her further, so declined her kind offer but she would have most certainly done this for us:) Adele runs the entire B&B singlehanded, I have no idea how she manages to do it all by herself. Amazing lady and thank you again for a truly wonderful and memorable stay. Xxx

We were greeted by Adele on arrival who graciously offered us a well-needed hot drink. We had just been January Sales Shopping in York so it was lovely to relax with a cuppa in our mitts whilst sitting in her beautiful and very comfortable guest lounge. There was an Amazon Alexa device in the lounge so Adele encouraged us to choose some music to play (my hubby opted for a bit of Phil Collins).
Our bedroom was gorgeous in design and decor - and ever so roomy. A very warm comfy bed, modern furniture, a mini fridge and a smart TV, to which I connected my BBC I Player account. It was also such a treat to have one of the chocolates which were located in the drinks area.
The room had its own bathroom with a gloriously deep standalone bath which I enjoyed soaking in. The bathroom came with a lot of thoughtful extras such as bath salts, bath soak, body wash and moisturising cream (all of quality value). What really surprised me was that I even found a little battery operated candle resting on the bath tray so guests can well and truly switch off and relax during their stay.
After having a lovely night’s sleep, we had a deliciously cooked full English Breakfast served in the Garden Room. We very much enjoyed chatting with Adele especially discovering information about the local area.
We found Adele to be a very thoughtful and considerate proprietor. It is very evident that Adele wants to provide her guests with the very best, so they can have a lovely stay. I especially loved the small things such as the stylish cups, the modern quirky tea pots, the decor, ‘the Nook’ (a little high level reading area) and of course the Lindt chocolates.
We would love to return to Harmony House for a 2 or 3 night stay so we can explore even more of the local area.

Stayed one night here on May 16th, The experience was lovely, Adele the owner made us so welcome, from the lovely procecco she greeted us with to the amazing full English breakfast she served the next day! We stayed in the poppy room which was immaculately clean, as was the rest of the house. Breakfast is served In a beautiful conservatory area at the back of the property overlooking a beautiful garden area maintained by Adele the owner. The village is a little quiet but very pretty. There is no pub or shop but you can drive to one in about 5 minutes. You can take a taxi to other areas and there is a local bus service which has park and ride. Over all this was a very nice stay and I would definitely recommend this gorgeous place!
