We stayed for one night in Walnut room, as we are moving to the area and had some business to attend to. Christine and Chris were lovely, really helpful and warm, we felt very welcome. The Covid safety measures made us feel safe too. The vegan breakfasts we ordered were tasty and set us up for the journey home. Also the cafetiere and real coffee in the room was a really nice touch! Thank you both so much! 😊

Conveniently situated on the A162, this guest house has a very homely feel. The owners Chris and Christine provided fantastic hospitality throughout my two-night stay. My room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, with a very comprehensive menu offered. On-site car parking is safe and secure. The house is set in splendid, well-kept grounds. There are two pubs situated approximately 10 minutes walk away offering very good food and drink. I would recommend this accommodation to both leisure and business travellers. Thank you and well done, Chris and Christine! πŸ‘πŸ»

Although postally it's Tadcaster the Old Presbytery is undeniably rural, sitting on the edge of a village with a couple of pubs nearby and on a (quiet) main road so it's easy to find, but sitting far enough back that you won't be bothered by the noise. The grounds are glorious, the house is steeped in history and full of talking points and provides the sort of old-fashioned home comforts that are hard to find these days. Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful, phoning the local to make sure food was still on offer on a Sunday evening, serving up tea and scones on arrival and happy to chat on any topic. Breakfast is served (health requirements permitting) at a communal table which would encourage cheery chat with other guests, but we were in the only occupied room for our stay, savouring the quality produce and the chance to chat further with Chris and Chris. It may sound like a throwback but what needs to be 21st century is on hand - fast wi-fi, great shower, and even an electric car charging point in the secure car park. Five stars all round, would have no hesitation returning the next time we're looking to break what has become a regular Hertfordshire to Scotland run about halfway.

This short break was exactly what we needed. Relaxation, comfortable room complete with a much welcomed fan as our stay was during a mini heatwave! The hosts were fantastic, made us feel very welcome, were friendly, knowledgeable about the area & met us with a lovely pot of tea &cake/ scones each afternoon after a day of sightseeing, very welcome indeed! Breakfasts were great &they were happy to provide an alternative to the menu, nothing was too much trouble for them. A really lovely couple. Lovely extensive grounds & lovely summer house to wander around to relax in &to cool down in after a heat exhausting day. We really enjoyed our stay, re charged our batteries &wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if visiting the area.

Had a lovely comfortable one night stay here. Myself and my friend had two rooms and both were spacious and comfortable. We were greeted by Christine and given tea and coffee and a delicious scone which was welcomed after our shopping trip in York. Delicious breakfast served with coffee and juice. Lovely couple and we will definitely be back.
