We live in Phnom Penh and are regular visitors to various Cambodian beaches, Anaya is our new favorite. We drove down from town, parked at the private port and took the 30 minute direct speedboat which was immaculate.

We had a couple of rooms next to each other with sea views. We loved the decor, simple and very clean. Crisp, fresh white bedding and fluffy towels. The open air shower had decent water pressure and it was nice to look up and see the trees. Yes the water is not 'crystal clear' but it's an island in the dry season. Using bottled water to brush your teeth is pretty standard here.

The beach is very calm with shallow water, perfect for paddle boarding which kept our tween and teen busy. At night you can see little specs of bioluminescent plankton in the sea, we wanted to take the boat out to swim in it but conditions weren't right, next time! We also liked the pool for the late afternoon so you would hear music from the bar. Playlists were very good and varied.

The food and drinks were delicious, great cocktails. Reasonably priced and veggie/ vegan friendly. We were all big fans of the pizza, great real French fries and my kids were very happy with the mango ice cream.

I want to mention the staff who were super helpful and made our holiday great, particularly Theara, Anny, Seyha and Ann on reception, I hardly ever write reviews but they inspired me to.

There are few good resorts are on this stretch of white sand, a couple relocated from Otres beach. Tamu is next door with a lovely shaded palm tree garden and Secret Garden is at the far end of the beach. Great for a bit of a walk and sunset drinks and dinner.

We also hired a taxi to visit the other side of the island and went to the Italian restaurant Eat,Pray,Love but it wasn't as nice, you get big waves there but we preferred Anaya.

Totally enjoys with my stay at this resort. The staff provide us with great hospitality experience and very helpful. The location of the resort is just at pier of pagoda beach so no need to walk a long distance after boat trip. The food at the restaurant also good taste. Even some technical issue in our room, we totally enjoy our stay and we will surely back to Anaya Resort.

Highly recommend staying here! Even before arriving the service was outstanding, right from booking we received a number of options for reaching the resort, which is located on a beautiful but secluded side of Koh Rong. The manager Josephine completely took care of everything, arranging transport to and from the island, ensuring a scooter was ready for our arrival and was incredibly accommodating throughout our stay.

The resort itself is breathtaking and is even nicer then the photos. Felt so relaxed as soon as we arrived, the pool, rooms and resort is super clean and well taken care of. Highly recommend the home made pizzas at the restraunt.

Beautiful beach and super convinient with the direct boat from Sihanoukville.

Can't recommend Anaya enough & thanks again to Josephine who made our stay so easy and stress-free!

The big thing that is necessary to adjust on this resort is the prices. There are no rooms or services for this amount 150/night. Sorry guys, but for what you offer, 80$ is a fair price. They are selling accommodation with breakfast, but is o cheep breakfast : few fruits, bread, butter and jam....you request from the menu eggs and coffee. Maybe it would nt be so bad if you intend to spend one or two nights, but for more nights, you get sick to eat the same thing every morning. Another is that the prices for scooters are 15$ for half day, very expensive. You find in town with 8-10 $ for the whole day.
I do understand that this pandemic period was causing serious damage to tourist aria, but this is not a reason to overestimate what you sell....

Dear Tudor, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay. We genuinely appreciate your input, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve our services. First and foremost, we're delighted to hear that you found the island itself to be beautiful. We take great pride in our location and surroundings. Regarding your concerns about our pricing, we genuinely apologize if you felt that our rates did not align with your expectations. We regularly review our pricing to ensure that it remains competitive while allowing us to maintain the quality of our services and accommodations. We understand that different guests have different expectations, and we will certainly consider your feedback during our pricing discussions. We appreciate your comments about the breakfast offering. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we will certainly take it into account as we work on enhancing our breakfast menu to provide a more varied and satisfying experience for our guests. Regarding scooter rentals, we understand that you found our rates to be on the higher side. We continually assess our pricing to ensure it is competitive with the local market. However, we will revisit our scooter rental pricing to ensure it is in line with local rates. We acknowledge the challenges posed by the pandemic, and while it has indeed impacted the tourism industry, we are committed to offering fair pricing and maintaining the quality of our services. Once again, thank you for your feedback, as it serves as a valuable tool for us to improve our offerings. We hope that you may consider returning in the future, as we would love the opportunity to provide you with a more satisfying experience. Main theme - not worth the money. Arrived tired & dirty, straight to the bathroom, which was not clean. Found all the taps ran brown water. Trudged back to reception, no phone in room, and was told yes, we filter local water, OK to wash but please don't clean teeth! Room v.basic no fridge, tea, coffee and little storage. Bed fine if you don't move, creaky as an old boat. We also suffered with mosquito bites from the grubby open-air bathroom. Room service poor, had to chase for towels, loo roll & water on more than one occasion. This meant negotiating the wobbly steps over to reception as we had no phone! The window behind the bed to the bathroom had no blind so awake at 6 in the morning! Aircon good.

The beach was kept clean directly in front of the hotel, a couple of metres away it became extremely filthy. No service was offered on the beach or round the (posh) pool. Beach sunbeds decrepit. Beach towels good. Free (new?) paddle boards available.
The breakfast belied that the hotel was apparently French owned. Eggs Benedict is not two poached eggs balanced on one half bread cake covered in melted butter. The crepes were like rubber. Coffees like mud. If you want more than one drink, get up and ask.

We ate in the Secret Garden.

This resort has great potential and we really enjoyed our time there. The servers at the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and special. The beach and gardens need a bit of attention but that was also part of the charm. This is not on the more developed party beach of the island. There are six or seven resorts on Pagoda Beach and you can easily walk to all for dinner is you choose. The rooms are as shown in the pictures but lacking in functional storage space for clothing, etc. cool decor and nice relaxing vibe.

The people is supper friendly, always smiling and welling to help. Amazing pool and beach. Because it is located in a very natural spot, the mobile signal is not always working, but if you contact them by WhatsApp or Wechat it works fast and efficient. They even helped us to booked our transportation two days after we checked out their hotel, so kind!
Strongly recommend Anaya!

It was with some apprehension that we disembarked the speedboat, but we needn’t have worried – the Anaya vehicle was waiting for us. Our departure was managed as equally efficiently.

We were assigned unit No. 4, which boasted a beach/pool view but was at first sight rather Spartanly furnished, especially after our experiences in other Cambodian hotels; for example, we did miss not having hand towels, and didn’t appreciate having to use the liquid soap from the shower at the wash-hand basin. The bed, however, was extremely comfortable and we appreciated the outside shower/toilet. At the front of No. 4 was a small patio, but still large enough for a table and two chairs, where we could sit, take the sun and drink coffee (kettle, coffee, tea, etc provided in the chalet). The chalet was also fitted with a very effective air-con, which was most definitely needed by mid-afternoon when we had to retreat from the heat. However, there was only one chair in the unit, so we carried another in from the patio.

Mealtimes were entertaining. The food was good, a choice of Cambodian and “western” dishes, but the staff always seemed overworked – or maybe it was a lack of organization. A couple of times, we had to remind the waiters that whilst three of our party were eating, the fourth was still waiting for their meal, or that part of the order hadn’t arrived.
Overall, Anaya is a good place to relax and unwind, but there is work to be done.

We truly appreciate your detailed review, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve and continue providing a better experience for our guests. We're delighted to hear that your initial concerns about disembarking from the speedboat were put to rest as our Anaya vehicle was ready to greet you. We're pleased to know that you found the bed comfortable and enjoyed the unique feature of the outside bathroom. Your comment about the hand towels and soap will be taken into consideration as we continually strive to enhance our guests' comfort. We understand your concern about the service, and we genuinely apologize for any lapses in efficiency or organization that you may have experienced during mealtimes. We will address this issue with our staff to ensure a smoother dining experience for our guests in the future. Believe in the magic of Christmas. And see what happens, “ I used to always tell
my kids as they were growing up. This year, separated from my kids and
grandchildren by Covid travel restrictions, I decided to take my own advise.
I am glad I did as the Christmas magic I experienced was beyond my expectations.

How to capture the magic of Anaya? The magic began the moment I arrived at the pier
and was warmly greeted by Josefin and her staff from the resort. I felt welcomed and
at home. Anaya is owned by a French couple, Alex and Sarah. Their love of the resort
and hospitality industry is capture in the ambience and customer service of the resort:
from the beautiful, tranquil sophisticated Zen villas to the impeccable friendly service
of the resort staff.

The food is also magical from the scrumptious catch of the day to the pizzas which were
hungrily devoured by both kids and adults alike. The Chef is a magician turning out French,
Western, and Asian dishes. Each one is more memorable than the last one.

According to Google, “the true magic of Christmas lies in the generosity of spirit and the
desire to treat others well.” That for me was the magic of Anaya and I know that this magic
exists all year round in the dedication and commitment of Alex, Sarah, and Josefin and
her resort staff. I highly recommend that you go and experience the magic of Anaya for
yourself—any time of year!

Resort was exactly what I was looking for as a restful break - small scale resort, quiet, white sand beach right in front, very good and friendly staff, delicious food. Rooms are simply and tastefully furnished and overall resort is well maintained.
As a lone female traveller, I felt very safe and comfortable during my stay. It's also good for families with young kids, as the sea is calm and shallow.
If you are looking for active nightlife (which I wasn't), this is not the place as the whole stretch of beach only has other resorts and no restaurants, bars or shops. During the day, plenty of activities that the resort can arrange.
The only major downside is travelling to and from the resort - long drive from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville followed by boat, and while the resort can arrange car with driver and fast boat, finding the boat at the pier after the car ride (and vice versa on return) was chaotic and stressful. If you can't speak Khmer, make sure the resort provides you (and driver) with explicit instructions and directions and contact numbers.
