After reading a lot of the negative reviews on TA I was overall pleasantly surprised. I was in one of the more modern beach bungalows rather than the multi occupancy dorms, close to the restaurant with two double beds, shower and western style loo with bucket flushing. I elected to use the bucket and water scoop for showering as the water pressure wasn't great in the shower. There are stagnant pools of water around the huts so expect mossies etc. That said while I was there the wind was so high mossies weren't a problem. The rooms have mossie nets although mine was full of holes that needed repairing. Duct tape to the rescue. The food selection was fine for a short stay but I was surprised that juices weren't included with breakfast. It was the only hotel / resort I encountered this during my stay in Cambodia. Food and beers are run on a tab system. Convenient but easy to get carried away if you don't keep a check on your spend. The ferry crossing was a turbulent 2.5 hour ride - not good for queasy stomachs. While out of the resort's control there was a fierce onshore wind throughout my stay that prevented any swimming, leave alone snorkelling, with debris including large saplings blowing onshore. I was there in early December and I gather from locals this often happens at this time of year so check weather conditions before booking. After taking advice from locals I hiked across the island to Lonely beach where the water was tranquil and great for swimming. It is a 1.5 hours walk along sandy tracks with a few twists and turns that aren't signposted so if you have a gps system or compass take that with you. I relied on the old 'ask the way' method and just as I was on the verge of giving up stumbled into the idyllic setting of the bay. There is a restaurant and bar there so take some dollars with you.

Great resort with nice, spacious and clean beach bungalows, great bar/restaurant area and with many sunbeds and facilities to relax and enjoy the beach and sun. And they have a well-functioning system with guest-passes to use to pay everything, so you don't need to bring around your money all the time. The food was good, breakfast great, nice bar and the staff was amazing, very welcoming and helpful (and very diverse, coming from all over the world). The only "but" for us for this stay was the fact that the resort is catering to large youth groups, so you need to be prepared for large groups of very young travellers. Even if the resort has a policy of no noise after midnight, which was totally adhered to, large groups of young people just take up space and kind of invades a place. And btw, the resort provides a boatservice to take you directly from Sihanoukville to their resort at a reasonable price, but be aware that the boat departs from a pier a bit far from center of Sihanoukville and the boat takes more than 2 hours.

The beach is faced and closest to Sang Sa private island, the staffs are friendly, helpful and provided details information. Foods are tasty for Western and Asian dishes, beach front massage services, entertaining with pools and volleyball. Take two hours with Palm Beach Bungalow' boat direct there at daily single departure from/to Sihanouk Ville (Royal Pier).

For those who has own vehicle be park at Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanlem products supplier pier 300 meters from Royal Pier.

Staff: extremely rude and hostile. If you enjoy being treated like a school kid and told what to do, this is probably going to be for you. We were told (not advised) to put our belongings and any food we had into lockers (nowhere near our bungalows). The payment system is done by a barcode on a lanyard and more often than not, we were greeted with ‘lanyard please’... what’s wrong with saying hello?

Room: understandably, having a budget hostel style room you can’t expect much but, standards were poor. The floor in the room was sandy before anyone even setting foot in there. 2 of our friends we met arrived into their room to see a couple of rats vacate their bed which isn’t the nicest thought in the world. If they ripped out the showers and left a hose, it would of been more use. It was no more powerful than a bottle of water... when it worked! I had been in the shower no longer than 2-3 minutes when it decided to stop altogether leaving me to was the shampoo out of my hair, in the sink, with bottled water.

Facilities: sunbathing area was nice, as was the beach volleyball pitch. The bar side of the restaurant was fine and served everything that’s needed although the food was (as said previously) like being at school. They had a lunch menu & dinner menu which was strict and no budging whatsoever even though the non seafood options was scarce.

Location: worst beach in Koh Rong, litter everywhere.

Cannot recommend this resort enough!

Palm Beach is a remote, peaceful and idyllic place that is perfect for relaxing. The beach and resort area is clean and staff can frequently be seen working hard to keep the area looking as nice as it does.

We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, this was a few steps away from the beach and restaurant in a stunning setting. The room was clean, comfortable and had all the facilities we needed. It is basic but completely suitable as as we expected on a remote island. There are sun loungers and hammocks in the resort and plenty to do to keep yourself entertained with lots of games, volleyball and badminton.

The staff were FANTASTIC, they were so helpful and friendly and made our stay very enjoyable.

The restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price so we didn’t feel the need to eat anywhere else.

We went on the boat trip offered by the resort and this was one of the highlights of our 3 month trip and cannot be missed!

It was so beautiful here ! I’m currently travelling in a group tour of south east Asia, and here was our first non city stop. We were all greeted with a baileys and the cabins were 5 people on bunk beds which was fine. The food was great and the cocktails were nice!! Exotic summer night was a personal fave. We all loved it and the water was so clear and warm. We also went on the snorkelling trip - 3 parts to it. Snorkelling (very shallow reef with lots of sea urchins, be careful!) fishing - hilarious and didn’t catch anything but others did. And after watching a lovely sunset, we got to jump in and swim in phosphorescent plankton. It was incredible!!!! And the stars were so visible too, as well as it feeling like we were swimming in stars!! Well worth doing. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Such a special place, located on pristine white beaches and clean crystal clear water. The charming bungalows are steps away from the beach where you fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean at night. The staff and management made you feel instantly welcome and part of the Palm Beach family. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday!

Peaceful, relaxing stay in a beachside bungalow. A slice of paradise. I arrived as part of a G Adventures group, but had a week extra at the end and stayed here for the whole week as it's so lovely. Ferry link provided, 2 hour trip, and well away from the hustle and bustle of Koh Touch on the other side of the island. Restaurant on site with excellent food - prices about $8 for eve meal. Wifi only in the bar area, cold showers but it's so hot you need that to cool down, if you fancy a change then go to the local village 20 minutes away, Nature's Kitchen / Otter Bar by the river (the French owner feeds the otter!) meals for $8 or the locally owned shack directly opposite the new temple, just has a red sign with pictures of food no menu so just ask, the owner speaks English and lovely meals are $3, I hired a scooter from there for $10. Marielle the owner sorted the booking of my bus back to Phnomn Pehn, very helpful - thank you.

An amazing stay on a beautiful Island. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the family bungalow that we stayed in was beautifully clean and had mosquito nets over the beds with fans to keep us cool. The menus for each meal had a variety to suit all. We were very well looked after and will miss it greatly. I recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, quiet, friendly place to stay for a break.

Beware of this hotel if you use your credit card via Agoda. We cancelled our reservation through Agoda, which it stated free cancellation. After cancelling, we received a 2 charges on our credit card. Not only were we charged twice, but we were charged much more than the original cost of our booking (which was for 2 nights at 61.20 but charged 152.07). The charged on the credit card uses a vague name called "Cambodia Payments" to add to the confusion. It seems as if they know what they are doing with this. There is something fishy going on with the payments system here, which would lead me to question the trustability of this company. This company is not to be trusted. They will not respond to us or Agoda. See attached image.
