Romdoul Beach Resort on Koh Rong is a beautiful place to get away from the stress of life and enjoy some holiday time. It is set on a private beach on the island of Koh Rong, near Sihanoukville. As one of our guests, you will be picked up by shuttle boat at the dock in Koh Touch village, and transported in a matter of a few minutes to your slice of paradise. The resort is set on it's own private beach, far away from the backpackers bars and party scene at Koh Touch village. Escape to a beautiful, laid back paradise positioned between the tropical sea and the lush jungle interior of Koh Rong. Right after walking outside your front door, you can swim and sunbathe on an undisturbed beach which offers lots of different water activities, go for a walk or a longer trek into the jungle (visit the small waterfall and lake nearby), or have drinks and meals in the open air restaurant The resort is named Romdoul after the national flower of Cambodia, which can be seen growing on the Romdoul tree on the island and in many places in Cambodia in the spring time.

I usually never write negative reviews but this place is my exception.

This was my second visit and I took my family here for 4 days. My last experience was great and the beaches and property are really awesome and chill. I knew about the tours coming in everyday, I knew the food was average and I knew it was rustic but this visit was seriously disappointing. We were the only ones on the resort aside from the daily tours. We ended spending 2 days in the main beach to get away from the horrible service.

Cons
-The daily tour groups were massive (150+) and completely took over the resort. We were actually told we had to wait for lunch so the group could finish their buffet.
-Next to no English which made it complicated to order food and many of our orders were wrong and took a long time to communicate what we wanted.
-Forced to pay for a second cup of coffee at the "free breakfast"
-We asked for a fruit plate and were told that they didn't have any but when we looked to the table beside us they had watermelon
-No soap or toiletries were offered
-They ran out of vodka, rum and wine
- No Wifi the entire time even though they advertise this
-They charged astronomical prices for using their toys and activities ($35 for one hour on an ATV)
- No room change/clean until the second last day
-We asked to have the rooms swept and they literally handed my mom a broom
-Power goes every night so don't bother with paying extra for a/c

Pros
-Cleaned beach everyday
-Food had improved greatly since my last visit

Not recommended. This place didn't seem to grasp the idea of hospitality. Especially since we were the only ones there. All my other experiences when travelling in low season have been great and usually people will go the extra mile for you. The complete opposite is true here.

First of all, this is not a right place for you if you have seasickness because it's gonna be a long trip by boat (around 1 hour 15 mins) from Sihanoukville port. We had a pretty bad experience when they told us the "big boat" which we booked is not available and we had to settle with a much smaller one. It was the most uncomfortable and miserable ride when we constantly had to breath in the bad fume of burning gasoline, and if you have seasickness, it will be one of your worst nightmare.
The accommodation is also very disappointing. No hot water, no wi-fi (unless you are close enough to the Reception), electricity is on and off, and full of mosquitoes (must bring mosquito repellent). Food is poor. If you have any digest problem, also take meds along, just in case.
The beach is absolutely beautiful, calm and clean, you might find some jellyfish but they don't cause much of a trouble. This is the only highlight of our trip. If not for the beach, I would hate my decision and this place so bad (lol)

Food is overpriced and the only place to eat is the restaurant on-site. If you want cheaper food and accommodation better off near the main port, especially if you like the partying scene.
It's a beautiful quiet beach, good for relaxing and just reading. Coconut Beach is a 25 minute walk on the trails near the restaurant.

I have been meaning to submit this for a while now, I had to let myself calm down before posting it as I wanted to reflect and be rational. Here are the points I came up with why this place should be avoided if you want to enjoy your stay. We paid $180 for three nights stay as we wanted something special at Christmas, and it was the worst money I have ever spent:

The rudest front desk staff member I have ever encountered, always trying to rip you off for more money - Wanted $100 to even attempt to call a taxi boat on December 25th, citing it was Christmas, although there was no celebration on the site or no price hike on the next beach we were forced to walk to. Also tried to charge us for a taxi boat to the ferry point, even though it clearly said on our booking free taxi boat for those in Bungalow. Confrontational when challenged which was unpleasant for my partner to deal with, and the same with me.

No wifi for three days over Christmas to Skype our families, and wanted us to top up his girlfriend's credit to use her phone as a mobile hotspot.

No room service for making up bed or emptying toilet bin. I have had this service in $15 hostel rooms, the cleaning staff all shouted and screamed as they walked around, giving you a clean towel as you walked by them.

Generally very dirty across the site, litter and dirt found everywhere.

Food was generally poor and had to ask for things I had ordered at breakfast twice before they arrived. Food was not tasty and expensive.

We enjoyed our first night there as there was a BBQ, but the staff all continued to get drunk and also got our tab wrong subsequently.

Honestly I can't stress how poor this place is, the confrontational desk clerk being my highlight of how badly run it is. Do not stay here if you want a good time on the island, there are so many better places to stay as we discovered walking from beach to beach.

Use your head.

If you don't want broken toilets that never have toilet paper - DO NOT STAY HERE, If you don't want rude staff who shout at their customers, particularly SAMBATH who works at reception - DO NOT STAY HERE, If you do not want to eat 'local khmer curry' that tastes like curry paste - DO NOT STAY HERE, If you don't want over priced meals 7-10USD, almost double prices of the main koh rong beach - DO NOT STAY HERE, If you don't want loud raving music playing all night even though no one even goes to the bar - DO NOT STAY HERE, If you want WiFi to be provided - DO NOT STAY HERE
Such a shame as the waters and location are beautiful - thanks natural beach for making the terrible service bearable

1.5 hours walk from anything, girlfriends swimwear went missing. Dont book wait until you get to the Island as there are many nice guesthouses to stay at on the left of the pier.
It is a resort and it seemed it was aimed at Chinese tourists having them come everyday for a couple of hours on trips.

We stayed four nights in one of the tents which are great. The facillities are ok. And that's about it.
The day before you leave you need to tell the receptionist, so they call the boat company to reserve you a seat. We asked the receptionist for calling the company and she said yes, however, returning to what ever she was doing. After a minute I asked her if she will really call them or if we should do it ourselves, what wouldn't have been a problem at all! (I told her this aswell) I also stressed out that we booked a bus in Sihanoukville next day and really need to get this. She responded that she will do it.
Later that same day we met someone that told us he also asked the receptionist earlier to call the same boat company. Three times in total then.
When we arrived next day at the main pier and walked to the boat company that was supposed to bring us back to the mainland, the company told us they are full (last seats reserved in the early morning) and there wouldn't have been a call from Romdul Beach a.k.a. Nature Beach Resort. Even so we already bought the return ticket when we headed for koh rong we had to buy another ticket (12$ per person) with a different boat company.
I wrote an email to the resort explaining the problem and that I expect them to take the costs and pay me back. After weeks I am writing this feedback now.
More over, the food was overprized and the staff at the bar was unfriendly. They started with super noisy music in the morning and brought it up several times during the day. However, not to entertain the guests but to entertain themselves.
Can't recommend it at all.

If you want to get some rest and enjoy an empty, clean and quiet beach, that's the place to go! they have their own restaurant and bar which are not that bad. But you are far from everything. Bungalows are not that bad, beds and linen were clean and comfortable. There is no vis-a-vis from a bungalow to another one.

Bungalow was quite nice, bed was comfortable. There was a hole in the roof which let lots of mosquitos in and also the bathroom wall didn't reach the roof which let lots of bugs in.
The beach at the resort is definitley not one of the best on Koh Rong, also it is far away from everything else on the island so you have to pay for a taxi boat or walk (around an hour) to the main area.
The restaraunt there is overpriced, food was tasty but I got seafood in my veg curry, also the wrong order another time, staff were rude and not sorry about the mix up. Also I got very sick, not sure if it was from the food or not.
Overall for what we paid I would not reccomend staying here, Koh Rong has far more beautiful beaches than here and you are limited to the restaraunt food if you don't want to do the long walk.
