We have stayed at the POW for long weekends for the last few years as a family of 3 and also as a larger family upto 12 as the location is around the corner from my Aunt who has lived in Jersey for the last 40 years.
We booked just over a week ago for 5 nights as we decided to cancel our trip to Singapore .
We again stayed in a Seaview room which has fantastic views and access to the outside patio.
Very quiet this time of year but we were expecting that and got a lot more sightseeing done .
The hotel is located in a small bay with 2 cafes on the beach and a pub 2 mins walk away all that we have enjoyed the food . Beach is great in the summer as my daughter can roam around and I can keep an eye in her.
Breakfast is the best we have had anywhere and wide variety inc full breakfast , toast , cereal and choice to make your cooked breakfast to your personal choice with fabulous view of the beach .
Just returned today and think we were one of two guests staying which really didn’t make a difference .
Lucacz the manager is extremely welcoming and nothing is too much trouble and same for the other staff .
The POW would always be our first choice in Jersey as we do like the homely feel and can not fault anything .

We escaped for a break from the Covid madness and arrived dishevelled tired and double jabbed . So an extremely friendly manager got us into the dinning room just before it stopped serving at 8pm[seemed to be a common trait in Jersey] He quickly surmised that I was in need of a glass of wine and food so we were provided with both in good time. I wasn't expecting fine dinning just pub grub but I was very pleasantly surprised by the cooking and quality of the food . Obviously a chef who knew there stuff. The manager told us that he was doing a lot of takeaway food over lockdown so obviously they were able to keep good staff which served them well.

If I thought the evening food was good , breakfast was even better with an interesting menu and appreciated by non residents as many joined us for breakfast . The ever present Lucaz and his staff were there with just the right amount of interaction with guests first thing and the dinning room has a stunning view over the bay so you can watch the early swimmers do their stuff whilst you have that extra coffee.

The rooms were clean, quiet and a window that opened . The fridge was a bonus . My only gripe was the size of the room. It wasn't large enough for a 5 ft bed so we had a 4 ft 6 inch one. Those 15 cm make all the difference . The mattress was fine , the bedlinen lovely just that I nada space in the night to turn over with a bad hip and found it very difficult to do so in this bed . There is no lift so you need to be aware of that when deciding on your suitcases.

Having said that I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel , maybe a little dated in parts but clean, a lovely setting with good food and staff for a fair price , especially in Jersey.

Extremally well run hotel: comfortable and well equipped rooms, wonderful, professional and friendly service. Hotel cosy throughout and with scrumptious culinary delights - well done Chef! The sea view rooms offer spacious balcony and amazing views over Channel islands: Guernsey, Sark, Alderney and France. The hotel is dog friendly with beach at the door step and access to the cliff paths walk and green lines around the north coast.

The service was poor, there was a couple of wasps flying around. The waitress swiped at one after we pointed it out, almost also hitting one of us. She made great contact with the wasp and it landed on the table next to us where another group were seated.

One of our orders didn’t come out, it wasn’t late it had been completely missed. I realise people make mistakes but surely if there are four people you would be expecting four meals.
The forth meal came out after the other three had nearly finished, but what made it even worse was she took the empty plates away and asked if they’d like desserts. Surely you wait for everyone to finish!!!
They obviously didn’t want us there as we arrived at 14:00 and they served food until 14:30 and it was a little quiet, but you don’t make it that obvious. They treated us as though it was a party of 3 and a party of one.
One even followed us to the door and locked it the second we left.
There was no proper apology, no discount or offer of free desert or drinks.

We are staying quite local for a week and thought it might be a place we’ed return, but not a chance.
It is a shame as the food was nice, not amazing but nice.
Also the location and view are fantastic.
Such a shame, could/ should have been really good!

The room was very clean and had a stunning sea view. The breakfasts were well cooked and there was a good selection on the menu. The staff were very helpful with good service in the restaurant. The hotel is located next to a sandy beach and is suitable for all travellers including families with children.

We stayed at this guest house on the recommendation of a relative because we wanted to walk along Jersey’s fabulous north coast cliff path. The guest house was a convenient base; the first day we walked westwards to Grosnez, the second day we walked eastwards to Sorel Point, each time returning to our room mid-afternoon to freshen up before venturing out for the evening. Our en suite room was comfortable with a very useful fridge. The room overlooked the beer garden at the front of the hotel, but the noise wasn’t too distracting, even though the hot weather meant we kept the window open for ventilation. Breakfasts were good and the place had a relaxed feel about it. The stay wasn’t cheap, but then nowhere in Jersey is, really. The beach at Greve de Lecq was charming although we largely preferred the wide expanse of St Ouen’s bay on the west coast.

We decided to go out for breakfast,
decided on the Prince of Wales hotel
Greve d'lecq, Jersey.
Very warm welcome, fine service, excellent, beautifully cooked breakfast
Super views over the bay
Even the bosses "mucking in"
Highly recommend, I don't normally
like going out for breakfast, as I like it just so, but it was, and char grilled bacon, delightful.
Then a nice stroll along the bay after.
Most enjoyable.

Yep in Jersey as a guest to assess the Photographic Section of this year's Eisteddfod.

The Prince of Wales is so local. Officially billed as a 'guest house' rather than a hotel.

Perfectly adequate, friendly, helpful staff.

Breakfasts are taken in sunshine (driving rain) overlooking a fine, sandy, beach.

For some reason granola is special order, but having identified granola, fruit and plain yogurt I was very happy. Plus water, coffee, brown toast I was ready for the day.

It was very much low season, so there were only a few of us in residence but it was blissfully quiet.

Thanks to manager and all his staff.

We stayed at the Prince of Wales on our walking holiday on Jersey. It is the only place to stay at Greve de Lecq. It is in a picturesque location overlooking the small bay and beach. It is, in parts, a little run down. The corridors and dim, not improved by the brown painted doors. The furniture in our room was cheap and rickety. Leads running everywhere from the plugs. The bathroom was rather shabby, but there was a decent shower. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was fine. We had a good night’s sleep. The views were marvellous. There was a large terrace outside our windows where you could sit down and enjoy the view.
The service at the bar was off hand. Perhaps I caught the barmaid on a bad day. The bar area itself feels like a typical, not so smart, English pub. Everyone was watching football on a huge screen. The service overall could be improved. We had to drag our suitcases up the stairs. Everywhere else we stayed our suitcases where either taken up to our room or there was a lift.
The dining room is light and airy with great views. The food was good. Breakfast was huge, with quality products. Dinner was also very good. My wife had two starters, Scallops and a prawn cocktail. I had a fillet of bass with Jersey Royal potatoes and veggies. Delicious. We finished it off with a shared Eton Mess – price £51. To drink I had a Breda beer and my wife had a G&T, and we had a bottle of decent house red – price £44.70.
I had the impression that the place was undergoing a gradual refurbishment. The host is doing a good job but more investment is required.

We arrived here and straight away nothing was too much trouble. The suitcases were already in the room which was amazing. Rooms were of a good standard and we had a partial sea view which was lovely. Great staff. Luca was funny and we really enjoyed the banter. The place had a homely feel and is in a beautiful position/location. Breakfast was fantastic and really tasty, it is no surprise people want to and enjoy coming here. We really recommend this place, it has everything to make you smile.
