The pub is not the prettiest or best cared for externally, but the welcome is friendly, the beer well kept and the food excellent. The fish and chips were some of the best I have ever eaten, consumed by a warm and inviting log fire. I would certainly recommend this pub.

Went for a Sunday lunch with partner, was very welcoming, staff very friendly. Sunday Roast (Beef) was excellent as was the sticky toffee pudding. Good selection of ales. I would definitely recommend visiting 👍🏻

Stopped in for a late Sunday lunch and were really pleased to find a welcoming pub with good local ales and a delicious roast. We ate in the bar where dogs are welcome. Friendly staff. Roast beef and sticky toffee pudding both highly recommended!

The pub is lovely, a real pub. Warm comfortable and friendly. The food was also lovely, a roast and fish and chips, with the most delicious creamed peas I've ever tasted. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We stayed in room 1 and our immediate impression of the room was a good one, clean and comfortable albeit a little...

It wasn't very busy so we decided to eat a quick lunch, unfortunately due to slow service it wasn't as quick a stop as we hoped but as we were staying we weren't too fussed. Room was OK, pretty basic but too noisey for us (suggest ear plugs).

Went with friends for a meal. Very limited menu, not so many specials either and three of us had the same - belly of pork. We were all up in the night with bad stomach ache and upset tummies. No wonder it was quiet!

My wife and I stayed here with our two golden retrievers as we were looking for an out of the way B&B that would take dogs. The pub is a delightful, old style local and is just how I imagine pubs used to look before they all tried to become restaurants and employ all the miserable teenage girls they could...

“There are four, I only saw No. 4 in which I stayed but presumably all are of the same high quality. There were workmen outside early in the morning but I never heard them from inside, thus the walls and window 'soundproofed' me from any digging noise that was occurring at the time.”
