Stayed here for 1 night. Hotel is a decent, clean 3 star which you can find in any European city. Check in non problematic - pretty receptionist was smiling, competent and with OK English. Couple of points not covered in other reviews. The windows in the rooms do not open and the AC can barely keep up. It was a hot day and the room was very stuffy on check in. In the evening as the air outside cooled down it was very irritating to not be able to get a breeze of fresh air into the room. The AC unit does a so-so job - so only a "Poor" for sleep quality. There are 2 or 3 restaurants as you exit the hotel and turn right - not just the McD's where the local youth loves hanging out but also a sushi place and a decent looking Russian one as you head in the direction of the old church and Lenin statue. Behind the shopping mall there's also a large square with beer gardens open in summer. An evening walk around gives a good idea of daily life in a Moscow suburb - quite interesting if you're into getting an idea of how the locals live. If these kind of experiences freak you out - just stay n the hotel restaurant - I didn't try it, not even for breakfast so can't comment.

Do not event think of staying here if you plan on going to Moscow itself by car or taxi. Find a hotel closer to the centre or near one of the elektrichka suburban trains. The trip by car will be an easy 2 hours even though the distance is 30 kms or so.

Plan on 2-3 hours for the 40 km drive to or from Sheremetevo airport. The 5 lane MKAD Moscow ring road does not move. I landed at 10 pm on a weekday and it took 2 hours to get from the airport to the hotel. Flying out on Friday it was 3 hours. For driving anywhere in the area - assume twice as long as as you would normally expect.

A good clean modern hotel. The restaurant was superb but expensive. No car parking available, which was odd. Rather long bus ride from metro (40 minutes depending on traffic) but Ok even without speaking Russian.

This hotel is fairly new so the room was modern and comfortable, however, it was a bit hot and the air conditioning did not really cool the room down.

Check in was fast and efficient the staff were polite and helpfull.

Wifi connection was free and fast.

The shower was hot enough although sometimes I had to run it for a while to get the hot water through.

The bin in the room was not emptied for the last 2 nights I was there, and on one day the room had not been made up at all.

The breakfast's are very limited, 3 choices (2 freid eggs, an omelet or porrdige) and they did not want to give a 2nd cup of coffee.

The restaurant is relatively expensive and the service was terrible, I had to call the waiter everytime I wanted something, not once did they approach and ask if I wanted anything.

The food was OK but nothing special.

The hotel was good to stay but not by location if you plan to visit Moscow centre.

1. Staff and Front Desk: Very Courteous, English Speaking and helpful. One of their staff wasn't able to communicate in English, so he used Google Translate Voice, but the attitude was pretty helpful. Check-In and Check-Out were very smooth.

2. Room: Good and clean. Smaller than my expectations. Had a window, opened to the back side of the hotel. The bathroom was neat and clean. Toiletries were changed every day along with bed linens.

3. TV had Russian channels only :)

4. Minibar: I was told minbar is chargeable, but "my minibar was empty while checking-in and remained so for the whole week of my stay"!
Claiming to be a 4 star, I don't understand why they were not bothered to give the quality like that?? Taking One Star straight off of my ratings. This is not expected from hotels claiming to be 4 stars!!

5. Restaurant and Breakfast: Buffet Breakfast was good but not delicious. Had two late night food orders from the restaurant, it was good too. But expensive.

6. Room Service: Very Good staffs, polite.

7 Nearby: You can find MacD just next to the hotel, a good shopping mall, ATMs and in the front, there is a grocery store too. Walk around locality is good.

8. Sleeping Comfort: +++ I had no trouble sleeping.

Final words, 1-2 days stay is ok but not for longer durations. Good for family and business, not good for a group of friends.

Not at all satisfactory stay. First of all front desk employees are ill mannered and less educated. English speaking is zero. Also no eagerness to help out even with a translator. One young Bell boy has helped out more than the so called senior front desk attendants. They didn't even try to help us out with directions or any other information. Rooms had soggy smell and the air conditioning unit seemed broken. The screen showed 10 degrees Celsius but hell t fire was coming out. Breakfast was good though but not special provided it showed a 4 star hotel status in the booking website. The service did not come close to it. The adjacent shopping it had is not lively. Very few shops with limited collection.

We stayed at the East Gate during the FIFA World Cup. It was a busy time in Moscow, & this hotel gave us some needed respite. We booked a family room & it was easily large enough for four (couple with teenage daughters). The room was clean & well equipped, including excellent wifi. The hotel restaurant was limited, but good. The day staff was extremely friendly & helpful. The neighborhood seemed Soviet suburban, functional not pretty. In all, a very comfortable accommodation.
It is worth mentioning that the location takes some time to get to from Moscow City Center. There is public transportation options. Taxis took around 1.5 hrs to get there. Sightseeing requires some planning.

Dear Edward K! Special thanks for Your choice of East Gate, excellent marks and comments about accommodation. East Gate is located in The centre of Balashikha City - near Moscow. To reach the nearest Moscow underground station our guests may use a public transport from the bus station next to hotel entrance, 7 km takes about 30 minutes. As an option hotel staff always ready with help to organize taxi services. Glad to see You soon.

Hotel is in a good location but far from the Red Square. Staff are welcoming and willing to help.
My room (Double Room) was good however the AC was useless which I requested to be fixed however nothing was done. I guess the hotel has fixed it at (fan mode).
the hotel is right next to McDonald's and a little mall with a supermarket.

3 nights stay at this Hotel, very conservative breakfast with just a few choices.
Room was ok and tidy. Actually a sort of average hotel with nothing special at all.
It is a quick drive to city center if no traffic other ways it could take hours
