I booked this hotel through Expedia and stayed at this hotel with my child on September 2nd. On the first day, I got bitten on the right side of my stomach, shoulder and back, and my child got bitten on his face. And we suffered from itchiness all night long. I requested a refund through Expedia but was refused. If you want to book this hotel, don't be fooled by the low price. Breakfast is only frozen bread, croissants, coffee, and oranges (be sure to bring a knife). I will never use this hotel again, and I canceled my previous reservation. Be sure to think again!!

Extremely disappointing, I would give it a half star if possible. This place was the first stay on our family vacation and it set a horribly tone. Staff was horribly rude. Rooms had stained sheets and left over trash from previous guests. Breakfast was granola bars and juice boxes. Hot tub was out of service. Night staff mentioned they are closing for good in November, by the cleanliness and manner of the employees, it shows they have already checked out.

This inn was disappointing, the breakfast was some juice packs and take away muffins and granola bars. There were no towels at the pool, we asked front desk for some and we were told they had none but some would be brought to us, they never did show up. Location was good, rooms were ok, but we had troubles with the toilet and with the tub, there were any traps out in the hall by the pool. Some staff were friendly but not overly helpful, while others weren’t even that friendly.

i stayed at this hotel with my daughter March 3-5th 2023. On the night of March 4 2023 around 9pm, the toilet stopped flushing. The water in the bowl would fill right up to the rim and then slowly drain. We called the front desk numerous times and nobody picked up the phone. My daughter finally went downstairs to talk with the front desk attendant. She explained that the toilet was not flushing. She was told by the front desk attendant that there was nobody working to fix it at this time. She stated maintenance comes in at 8am and she would send them to the room at that time. My daughter explained we needed it fixed now as we could not go all night without a working toilet. My daughter asked for a plunger so we could try and plunge it at least. The attendant stated she didnt know where a plunger was. She stated we could use the lobby washroom. I dont think that was a very reasonable offer, as nobody is going to get up, get dressed and go down to the lobby in the middle of the night. My daughter got up at 7:30 am, got dressed and waited for maintenance to come. Nobody showed up. We eventually just got dressed, checked out and left. I was a bit disappointed in the customer service that we received. We paid almost $400 dollars for the two night stay, and to not have a working toilet on the second night was pretty inconvenient. Using the lobby bathroom, or waiting til the morning to use the washroom is not a solution in my opinion. I would hope there would be different avenues to solve this problem in the future. I did write management after the stay and did not get a response. The only other complaint I have is that the breakfast is still "grab and go" from Covid times. I think we have all moved past that, and when "breakfast is included", we would appreciate a decent breakfast, even if it is continental.

I don’t know where to begin with this hotel. The two positives are that the room was clean and the pool was open. The negatives are: unfriendly staff, loud hotel patrons, open drinking in the hotel lobby, disappointing breakfast, a broken hot tub and no towels available by the pool. I do not recommend staying at this hotel. It’s January 2023 and they still think Covid is happening. So disappointed with our stay.

I stayed there one night for an after work Christmas party hotel. The room I got was on the 2nd floor, only 3 floors, and faced the back of the Ford dealership. I booked using the Inn of Waterloo's website, and selected the CAA rate. It was a nice room, carpets were quite nice and the bathroom, according to my co-worker (booked on Hotwire), was really impressive compared to his. Mine had tiled shower with a sliding glass door, tiled floors, a small sink in the immediate corner of the room. Thought this was an odd placement. And toilet in the middle of the wall between the sink and shower. The lighting could've been a bit better, standing in front of the mirror I was immediately reminded of Queen II album cover, as the light shines down directly from above. The shower was a long corded hand held unit, but, it was actually quite nice and, somewhat appreciated too! Could have used a bathroom fan, but honestly, that is I think a minor gripe I have with almost every hotel bathroom I'm in. The beds were quite nice, i do believe two Queen beds. Okay sized tv, I think my house has the same size at about 26". Appealing selection of tv stations, I don't have cable at home anymore so that was a neat treat and even caught a bit of an old 80's movie to boot! This room does have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Nicely located in a "3rd closet door" to the right of the closet. And upon opening the door, the light turns on inside! Really impressive feature!! The closet had the same for the right side door, but not left. I found the magnet door holds were a bit tough, even for myself a strong muscled man. So they may even be harder if you're a bit older and not as strong. Room had a connecting door but my co-worker was on the opposite side of the hotel. The hotel also offers complimentary breakfast, because of the pandemic, its set up as a "breakfast bar" or "BYOB - build your own breakfast." I grabbed a bacon egg mc-muffin, and an apple juice. But there were also yogurts, I think some fruits, a loong selection of hot water for teas, coffees (not a coffee drinker), and I think some cereals, muffins, as well. It was an impressive spread but, wasn't what I had in mind upon walking in initially, and there is no sitting/eating there.. Forcing you to go back to the hotel room to nuke the mc-muffin, pro tip: use popcorn, but only for like half the amount of time, 1.5 mins should probably be plenty, then maybe 10 second intervals. I did it for a full 2.75 mins and it came out steaming hot. Overall, it was a nice stay and convenient location for where the work Christmas party was, and even to get back to work to pickup gear for the next week. Would probably stay again for sure!!

We chose The Inn of Waterloo to host our daughters 10th birthday. We were fortunate enough to reserve the Garden Murphy Suite - and we were thrilled from the moment we stepped into the hotel. We did have to wait a little bit for the room to be ready, but the front desk was kind enough to direct us to a comfy sitting area in the lobby ,complete with a well stocked coffee station while we waited. Shortly after, our room was ready and we were off. We had a total of 7 children and 2 adults for the party , and all 9 of us had our jaws drop when we entered the room. The kids had the best birthday party - complete with a visit to their beautiful pool and hot tub area, everyone was happy. I’d like to make a special shout out to the head of housekeeping, who stopped by our room to congratulate the birthday girl on turning 10. The girls were having a spa party - and without missing a beat , this kind lady returned with a handful of beautiful robes for the girls, 7 of them in total, and wished them a fun party. What a wonderful, kind touch, and I want her to know she was the highlight of our stay, from a service perspective. The breakfast was not the best to be honest - frozen breakfast sandwiches and granola bars, muffins, fruit cups , and a giant vat of delicious coffee. A nice hot breakfast would have been a good touch, but we didn’t leave the room hungry. All in all, a fantastic visit, and wr would definitely return. We live 2 blocks away from the hotel ,but it felt like we were on holidays in another city. Thank you for the wonderful stay and hospitality!

Not a good value for money. The build has a nice older appeal with such things archway balconies and treed court yards. Without updating that appeal was short lived. Things were outdated such as the TV, it was very old with a horrible picture with useless cable/channels available (not even a weather channel), phone, all lighting in the room which made it dark even with all the lights on, bathroom sink fixtures had calcium buildup and the heating/ac unit which was loud. The plant in the building were not taken care of with all plants in the pool area dead or dying (simple ugly and depressing). Also I called the front desk several times and they never answered. The cost for the stay was same as newer update hotels and the 4% municipal tax is simply theft. Had the cost been 40% less ($150.00) then it would had been good value for the money.
