So disappointed. I've stayed at Quality Inns many times and this was not up to the usual standards. We booked a King Suite with pull-out sofa. I travelled with my sister and a friends (ages 55, 57 and 59) for beach and site seeing. We specifically said three women travelling together and we needed the pull-out sofa. No one made note of that. When we got there, the sofa-bed was not made up and there were no sheets or extra towels for the third person. We asked to have the sofa-bed made up and were told "No", due to covid, they could not enter the room. Fine.. understandable, but it should have been made before we got there. The second issue was the sofa-bed, itself. It was AWFUL. The mattress was literally four inches thick and nothing but coils. The first night on the bed was horrendous and I was being poked by coils all night. Further, it was clearly old and in dire need of replacement. It was sagging and there was no support in the sofa at all. If you offer a sofa "Bed" then, someone SHOULD be able to sleep comfortably in it! In the morning we asked for a new mattress. Front desk was less than helpful. Apparently, they had no mattresses, no extra blankets to pad the mattress and no solutions to our problem. The agent at the front desk actually said: "Some people bring their own air mattresses". Why on earth would we bring air mattresses to a hotel which is supposed to supply the bed and bedding????? After going back and forth, we asked to change rooms and were told there were no other rooms and they were fully booked. The front desk showed no concern at all and made no attempt whatsoever to resolve the issue. We went back to our room angry and disappointed. Front desk ended up calling us about 30 minutes later to tell us they could move us to a room with two queen beds because someone "cancelled" and we were told we would be able to move. Too convenient and unbelievable. I don’t believe anyone cancelled. We also had some issues with the bathroom. In the first room (King suite with pull-out sofa) the sink was draining very slowly. When we moved to the second room (Two queen beds) again, the sink was draining very slowly and then stopped draining completely. We had to have it serviced. General maintenance on the rooms was substandard. I should not have to ask to have the sink unclogged. This should be standard maintenance, and the fact that it happened in both rooms tells me that these things are done only when someone complains. Also, in the room with the two queen beds, the toilet was wobbly. It was not secured and it literally rocked back and forth when you sat down. Things like this should not happen. It's just poor maintenance and a general lack of respect for the client who has to put up with it. I strongly feel, if we book a room for three people, then all three of those people should have a comfortable sleep and Quality Inn, Owen Sound, failed miserably in this respect. And one last thing...This hotel felt "gerry-rigged" for lack of a better word. Even from one room to the other, nothing was consistent. The blow dryers were different. One had some heat, the other just blew air. The toilets where different heights. (The one toilet was so low, it was a struggle to sit down and to get back up again without support. Where short toilets on sale or something? WTF?) In the King suite, there was a comfortable armchair, a desk and a desk chair. In the Queen room, there was no comfortable arm chair. It was a crappy, uncomfortable chair with a low back, so you could not even lean back on it. There was a desk, but no desk chair. There was no consistency and no attempt to maintain a standard within the hotel. I'm budget conscious and I've chosen Quality Inn partially for the budget aspect, so I'm not expecting a 4 or 5 star experience, but this was just cheap and sad. Overall, it was a disappointing stay. As I said, I've stayed at Quality Inn in many different cities -- Montreal, Quebec City, Niagara Falls, etc. and several cities in the USA, and this was just not up to the standard I am familiar with from Quality Inn. This hotel needs to be reviewed by Corporate.…
