Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived and immediately questioned our choice. The town is over run with Trans Mountain Pipeline workers so not much choice in making another room purchase that same evening, let alone a month hence, so we were stuck with a filthy parking lot; no real place to park; and upon entering the room, we immediately spied the heap of toenail clippings in between the beds. The management was notified and the remedy was to re “swiffer” the room floor. Toe nails still there. As well, a photo of the towel I used to mop the bathroom floor after the “cleaning”, and although I won’t post it here, it is disgusting. I wouldn’t stay here again unless I absolutely had to. Yuck.

Basic, older motel. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean, but bathroom floor not so much. Location was convenient... easy to access from the highway, but not close enough to hear traffic noise. Had hoped to use the hot tub, but it's in a separate building and didn't look very inviting.

Place was not particularly clean and stank very strongly of tobacco from cigarette potts laid around all over the place. Building is in tired state and in need of redecorating. Unless you’re a smoker, I would strongly advise against staying here.

I have stayed here quite a number of times traveling through for business and have never had a problem till today. I walked in asked if they had a room available owner said yes I said okay how about a kitchen for the night owner says we don’t rent kitchens for one night.I said okay I’ll go somewhere else maybe then he goes no I will sell you a room for the night normal room is $109/night now it’s $125 plus an extra $135 then he says another $25 for the kitchen. Anyways the owner was super rude I may have recommended this before but will never recommend. Steer clear I recommend!

Booked a room last minute after cutting my Berg Lake trail short because of bad weather. Check in was a breeze and the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. The hotel looks a bit dated from the outside but our room was very nice and newly renovated. The room was large and the bathroom was great, loved the powerful hair dryer. The beds felt new and were very comfortable, as well as the pillows. The wifi was a bit slow but other than that no complaints. Note that there is a busy train track in Valemount and we barely noticed it at this hotel (whereas in our previous hotel we would wake up every 2h because of it). I’ll come back for my next hike!

I stayed there with my young son and my father on the way to Vancouver Island. Our room was impeccably clean, the staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable, and the location was quiet. It was also only $85 when other hotels in town were $130+. Don’t discount this older property, it is a gem.

This motel is run down, obviously unkept and dirty. A very “modest” is fine if that is what you want but no reason to have to put up with disrepair. Bathroom fixtures were clean but there were shoe sole masks over floor, something dripped down the bathroom wall and the wastebasket filthy below the plastic li et. windows had not been washed since who knows. Ice machine, vending machines did not work and coated in an inch of dust. What they advertise as a spa and hot tub were dry and a vacumn sitting in the middle of. Grounds had not been cut or weeded for a long time various garbage around the property. Only positive here is the owner was extremely friendly and willing to please. Unfortunately he has no idea of what a motel should be like or what upkeep means.

Awful experience.

Room was disgusting. When I tried to complain in hopes my room would be cleaned I was screamed at.

Food stuck on inside the microwave, crumbs in the fridge, dirt, dust and grime everywhere, others trash left behind, burnt out lights inside and outside in stairwells.

Wasps nests all over.

Extra furniture stored outside.

This place is run down an delapitated . Severely overpriced for quality. Plus they jack up prices or lower randomly for certain clientele. The office area looks ok . There’s boarded up broken windows on one side not a ounce of any greenery , no lawn , furniture in rooms are shabby and worn out, swear words carved in beside table. Constant coming and going of seriously scetchy people doing god knows what . If had of been able to get $$ back I would of .

The first turn-off was dust cobs covering the lights over the bathroom vanity. The second was the fingernail clippings on the vanity. I took photos and showed them to the owner in the office; she couldn’t have cared less!!
Beds roll to the middle and are ages old. TV selection is minimal. Overall customer service non-existent. In particular the customer service attitude of an employee named “Janet” needs adjustment. Spend your money wisely, choose another hotel/motel or keep on driving !!
