The last 3km from Golden are on a gravel road through the forest. There are no meadows when you get there, only a modest clearing in the forest which provided timber for the owners to build the lodge. It oozes character of the rustic pine sort with a central atrium with bedrooms on the first (US second) floor on a... More

Location is above Golden, so views are good. An unusual building with large communal atrium. Be aware though, this is a budget choice. The price paid is just about fair, but the lodge falls short in areas. The proprietor is a personality, I liked him. The atrium looks good but most guests won't use it, or the communal balcony, or... We were looking for a place away from the noise of the highway and railroad and thus chose Alpine Meadows and it certainly met those desires but added to that were the charming hosts, nice open area to sit and visit, and a beautiful view. The place was very clean and inviting and the breakfast was an added benefit. We... More

My wife and I, along with our baby boy stumbled upon the Alpine Meadows Lodge after booking through one of the BC visitor centres. I asked the attendant for a nice lodge accommodation with a fair price. Alpine Meadows Lodge way surpassed that expectation with a beautiful wooden lodge tucked away in the forest with a spectacular view of Mount... More

We stayed here over the family day long weekend as we planned to ski at Kicking Horse. The location proved to be ideal - a short car ride to the ski hill or to the restaurants and pubs in town. Upon arrival we were greeted by Irv who invited us to get warm by the fire. He was genuinely friendly.... More

A group of 4 of us stayed here for NYE 2013/14. Let me begin with the positive aspects of the Lodge. It has great proximity to Kicking Horse Resort, which makes the morning drive up to the hill very manageable. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were well maintained and clean. The couple who own the place, while... More

he lodge is located at one of the surrounding mountains near Golden, just some 5 minutes away by car from the centre of the town. Enthousiast and friendly staff. The lodge is meant for people who love the nature, looking over the meadows, wildlife spotters etc. If you just like to hang around in your room and watch TV you'd... More

No meadows, no maintenance outside. The trees (the Alpine) block the views of the valley and river. Terrible dirt/gravel road to reach the lodge. Large building nicely laid out inside though looks rough from the outside. No elevators for the 3 floors. Owners keep the lights low and the doors closed to conserve electricity. No employees, the wife does the... More

We loved this lodge. Not only were Maria and Irv friendly and helpful, the lodge was well equipped, quiet and very comfortable. The views of the snow capped peaks and the Colombia river were terrific. This is not a new ultra modern lodge, but that wasn't what we were looking for. This lodge was built with timber milled from the... More

I would not recommend this place. It was cold, dark, the beds were old with old quilts on them. Eeuw. The view was nice. That's about it. The hot tub was good. We had no hot water in the morning for a shower, until we mentioned it and got the whole story about this gas burner and that electric tank... More
