Lovely little resort in a jungle environment yet only about 400 metres from the beach. Very relaxed natural environment with basic clean bungalows. Great WI FI and air con and extremely lovely family running the resort. Would definitely stay again.

One word would be enough for this place "amazing". The owner is so lovley. She helped us with everything from removing bugs for us (scared tourists) to gave us lift in to town to get money, went to buy fresh (not frozen) fish and cooked it for us. She helped with everything!

The bungalow was very basic, but we didn't spend much time there anyways. The bed frame makes a lot of noises though. If you touch it or even breath close to the bed, everyone in the nearby bungalows will hear it.

Charlie/farang beach is a 10 min walk or 1 minute drive away.
Costa 50 baht per peraon to go into town with a taxi. Sometimes you get it for free if they are going in the same direction.

Love this island and resort. Would definitely come back to this place if I go back!

Bungalows are situated in a beautiful garden next to little "river" and small "lake". You will walk to farang beach about 15min. There are some restaurants in walking distance. Area was very quiet. There were some mosquitos but not many.

We stayed at small bungalow (that one which is last one). It was really small for two. Just fitted a double bed and a minifridge. No space for luggages. Bathroom was quite big comparing to main room.

We noticed that pillows had some mold dots. Mosquitonet was ok. Other bungalows had a table in the terrace.

Staff was great and very helpful. Always smiling. Their positive attitude influenced to my review and I really hope all the best for them.

If I would come to the island again I could concider to staying here again but then I would definitely choose a villa.

Pros:Affordable, lovely staff. Bathroom had great water pressure. Nice and quiet;surrounded by beautiful trees. Hotel comes with a mini fridge.

Cons:Far from the beach. You will need to walk about 20 min to get to the beach. From the pier it is about a 10min motorbike taxi ride. The hotel is surrounded by trees and a there is a lake nearby; the result, massive amounts of mosquitos. While the balcony is nice, mosquitos make it impossible to fully enjoy the peace and quiet. We had the basic accommodations with fan included. It was very hot at night, especially with the mosquito net. We also had mice in our bungalow. Don't leave food out! There is a small restaurant attached to the hotel which only offers breakfast. Nearby there are restaurants and a minimart. There are tons of budget accommodations closer to the beach so I recommend going for those instead!

A very unpleasant experience at PhuSamBig "Resort". I would not recommend staying here on Koh Mook. From the initial check in we were treated rudely by the owner/manager in charge. We had booked an air conditioned bungalow for a discounted rate on account of them being a new host on airbnb. We were told what we paid was too low, and that after the first two of our five night stay the air conditioned bungalows were all booked, so we were forced to downgrade to a very small, unclean, extremely hot fan bungalow for no discounted rate. After we moved to the fan bungalow, the air conditioned bungalows remained vacant, except for one which some of the staff began to use. We felt extremely ripped off as we were lied to about the air conditioned bungalows being previously booked so that we would have to move to the fan bungalow for the same rate we paid for the air conditioned one. The doors of the fan bungalows do not lock, so beware of your belongings. There are no blankets available for sleeping and no new water each day. I've stayed at many places throughout Thailand and this was the first bad experience I encountered with such rude and un-welcoming staff. The communication between the manager/owner was extremely difficult as she spoke no English. Not to mention that currently the resort is undergoing renovations, and the "garden and pond" is now a massive hole with construction from the early morning to late evening. Overall I would not recommend staying here on Koh Mook as it is not only questionable if you will get what you paid for, but you will be treated very unfairly and rudely by the staff. There are many other nice bungalows on the island for similar prices near Charlie beach that would be a better value for money.

Terrible owner (no one speaks English except little boy), terrible bungalows (insect infested), terrible views and ambience (big concrete hole with construction ongoing all day). Downgraded from an a/c bungalow to small fan bungalow for no good reason, even though booking and payment was received for the a/c bungalow.

We stayed for three nights in April 2918. Great staff who helped us a lot. My daughter was ill while we were on the island and they arranged and took us to the doctor and back. The bungalows are clean and tidy and have fab, or AC. More like a traditional basic beach bungalow but with wifi, fridge and TV. The restaurant was pretty good. Great pad Thai and green curry. They didn’t have a lot of choice- no panang or masamam curry but the portions and tastes were good. No fish while we were there but it was o we Thai new year. Biggest drawback is the location being a motorcycle taxi ride away. They want to charge 50bht each way per person but we bartered to 100bht for our family of five. Charlie’s beach is only 10 minutes walk. The main pier is 20 min walk but Charlie’s is a better beach we felt. If not a bit sad with rubbish in the back area of the sand. We would highly recommend this resort and location to others especially families. We only pad $13CAD for each bungalow- we needed 2 to fit us all in

Koh muk(mook) is expensive for budget travellers but this is not a bad choice. a newish site with about 10 bungalows and 4 air-con concrete rooms. 15 mins to beach down dirt road but that's why it was cheap. well run and friendly but basic sleeping. don't go for the cheapest option if a couple as rooms are tiny and only for single people. Nice location if you like it quiet. The rooms are not mosquito tight so you will get bitten but they have nets on bed. small veranda outside but chairs uncomfortable.

Room Tip: go air-con rooms as huts fan only and too hot in day.
