My wife, 2 kids under the age of six, and in-laws over 65 all went and every single one of us loved it! The kids loved hunting the beach for shells, starfish, and crabs. My wife and I loved going snorkeling and visiting the Emerald Cave. The in-laws loved the beautiful sunrise and sunset strolls on the beach as well as the massages.

The beaches are fantastic. The sand is soft and not rocky at all. The water was calm and we did not experience any large waves bigger than the wake coming from the occasional passing long tail boats.

The resort is set within the natural beauty of Koh Mook and does not stick out like a gaudy monstrosity on a pristine beach. Even at its maximum capacity, it never felt busy, crowded, or commercialized.

The staff is top notch. They were all extremely friendly and polite, and always went out of their way to make sure my family was comfortable.

The food was great as well. Huge selection of Thai dishes, seafood, and western dishes which came in handy with my kids who are extremely picky eaters. Food is also very well priced by US standards.

I can not think of one negative thing to say. My family can not wait to go back and we are already planning our next visit!

We booked Sivalai resort because of its location and indeed it is extraordinary but that is where it stops. Whilst you will pay a rate that would give you an ultra luxury branded property in Bangkok, here you get a stunning setting with, at best, 3 star amenities. Our villa was on the first row that is water front. Maintenance and upkeep is typical of a locally run hotel: poor with worn and torn bathroom linen, badly scratched timber deck (see photos) and staff bordering rudeness or certainly not the Thai graciousness you would expect. The breakfast buffet is horrible with the lowest quality produce you can find, the à la carte menu for lunch and dinner is very average and the best is to eat outside at the many free standing restaurants which offer better food and service. There are 2 swimming pools: one poorly maintained coated with a rubber film that is coming off so when you walk, you have the feeling to walk on a padded surface. The water is highly chlorinated so do wear goggles. We had problems opening the in room safe on 2 occasions, each time we were told to wait 10 minutes! On one occasion, we asked where is the DVD player which is advertised on the website and we were told. There were none!! Such a pity to have such an outstanding location with average amenities and service that will cost you 5 star rates!

We spent 2 weeks in Thailand and decided we wanted to experience paradise and found it at Koh Mook (had been recommended by a friend). An amazing place where we spent to nights only. Arrived early day 1 and left late day 3 though. Recommend having 3 nights to be able to experience a little bit more of the island. Plan was to just relax and enjoy the hotel and beach, but you should also plan to visit the local village with shops and restaurants, and some other sights on the island as well.

We arrived by speedboat from Koh Lanta (Saladan Pier) and the arrival itself is just as we pictured it. We had arrived to paradise. Picked up by electrical "golf cars" and taken to reception and later to our villa. Our driver, Suhn, was very friendly and offered the best service.

Our Beachfront superior villa 1st row was just amazing. Big room with an amazing view from the bed straight out through the sliding doors to the terrace. Maybe a little bit cold water and low pressure in the shower, but all in all very nice. Even a small refrigerator which we filled up with cold drinks from a store/kiosk in the village to save some money;-) Our villa was the first one walking from the restaurant on the "north" side. Water outside villa not a good place for a swim, so would maybe recommend staying at the "south" side. Just be aware of some noise from the speedboats and longtail boats since they arrive and leave from there.

Beach area very nice, even though not a really good place for swimming, but to cool off is quite ok. Water going down several meters at low tide in early afternoon.

Breakfast is very good with lots to choose from. Eggs and omelettes made by order which I really appreciate. And once again a great view. For dinner we recommend going into the village and visit the local restaurants. Much, much cheaper and a great way to support the locals as well.

We definetely recommende visiting Koh Mook and stay here for 2-3 nights.

I’ve been visiting beautiful beach destinations in Thailand for years.
There is a fair chance I found the best at Sivalai.
To get there by road it’s a bit daunting. Then a speed boat will take you across in 10 min. Apparently there are boat options to Koh Lanta and even Phuket.
Imagine a narrow leaf with perfect beaches on both edges. Sivalai elegant bungalows are right at the tip, between both beaches.
It is expensive, but the location is stunning.
It is still a high tide zone, with sea going down meters at low tide.
I encourage the open-minded traveller to walk out of the resort and to to try food and massage at more reasonable prices in the village nearby (5-10 min walk).

The resort was ok. It's family friendly and there are activities to arrange to explore the island. Good restaurants and a small town centre in walking distance, one of which has an cash machine/atm.

Prices were definitely higher and the area in front the hotel is not that swimmable and we did not want to use the pool.

Also, the boats going to/from the pier make steady noise through the day so it's not entirely quiet and the sea feel constantly busy because of the amount of boats.

The resort is ok but was just too large for us and not our favourite as it was large and constantly busy. Compared to other islands and resorts, this one is definitely on the lower end unfortunately.

I stayed here for 3 nights in December and loved it. The room was quiet and comfortable and after dealing with the hustle and scorching temperatures in Bangkok I needed a place to recharge and relax. This resort is on an island and the bungalows are on the beach. Breakfast and lunch were amazing. Only topped iff by dinner on the beach every night. A huge spread of everything you could think of. I especially liked the seafood station. The front desk was friendly and helpful and I would stay here again!

This was our first time to the resort traveling with two small children ages 3 and 5. The beaches were great, the customer service was top notch and the food was perfect for my two picky eaters. Pizza, pasta and cheeseburgers were delivered shortly after ordering from room service while the adults indulged in the best Thai food. Our family visited Bangkok and Chiang Rai but Koh Mook had the best food by far. Everything was clean and up to date. We even indulged on some excursions and had a massage at the spa. I would highly recommend this resort and can’t wait to be back.

We stayed at a beach front room. Excellent service, friendly crew. Rooms are luxurious. Restaurant is very good too and little village is walking distance. From koh mook, you can do boat tours to near by islands with beautiful snorkelling. Resort literally solved mosquito problem (resort is windy already, they offer sleeping nets in the room and mosquito repellent). But sandflies are a big problem. Reception warns guests to be careful for sand flies during arrival (which is very good). My body gives very allergic reaction to sand flies. And that’s why it was a very painful 3 days for me even if i was extremely careful of sandflies (literally stayed away from the beach all the time and and only walked on sand to go swimming). My daughter and husband were both ok, survived with one or two bites. I wonder if there is a natural solution to sandfly problem. But i would not recommend this hotel to anybody only for this problem (you never know who in family has a big problem with sandflies)

We recently stayed at Sivalai Resort on Koh Mook and found it to be a good escape with breathtaking ocean views. The location is superb, boasting clean beaches maintained well by the management. The rooms are appointed well and kept immaculately clean, with efficient air conditioning ensuring a comfortable stay. Waking up to the sight of the ocean from our room was very pleasant .

While the small swimming pools offered a dip, I did notice that they could be better maintained, especially along the inner edges where some guests had left their marks. The sea is a better option.

The breakfast provided was adequate, though not overly impressive, and the à la carte options were satisfactory. The staff stood out for their warmth and wanting to help, always eager to assist and ensure a pleasant stay.

It's worth noting that Sivalai Resort is primarily a place to unwind and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With limited activities beyond island hopping trips, it's perfect for those seeking sun, sea, and simple dining experiences. If you're looking to tick off another island in Thailand while enjoying a tranquil retreat, Sivalai Resort on Koh Mook is an excellent choice.

Wow! What an amazing hotel filled with an incredible staff. We spent 6 days at the resort and would consider ourselves explorers - aside from venturing into town for a couple of meals we found it hard to leave the resort... The food was great and they have a huge menu to accommodate whatever you’re in the mood for. The beach was perfect with softest sand I’ve ever felt, comfy chairs to post up in for the day and the water every variation of blue and green imaginable. We saw starfish, hermit crabs, dolphins, tons of fish and so much more. The pools are set up for complete relaxation. And the staff went above and beyond to make us feel right at home; especially, Kiki, Tone, and Jean! We already miss this place and we just left this morning. Hope to be back soon!
