We had only an overnight stay here and I wish we could have spent much longer. Giovanni, Anna-Maria, their son and grandson are the nicest people you could wish to meet. We were welcomed personally and taken straight into a 5* lunch. Very personal / interactive and the food was wonderful. Our accommodation was beautiful, in fact everything was beautiful, we didn't have a single moan, only that we wish we could have stayed longer. I have already recommended Colle Cesoni to friends and intend on coming back as soon as I can. For relaxing amongst breath-taking views and a lovely environment book it - you will love it.

We enjoyed a short two-night stay at Colle Cesoni near the beautiful village of Casaprota. Our room, originally the stable of the hamlet was full of charm and character, including the original feed troughs. The views from the terrace were some of the nicest we have seen through our extensive travels. Yes Tuscany is spectacular in terms of rolling countryside, vineyards and olive groves. But the vistas from here at Colle Cesoni are every bit as great, if not more so. Giovanni was waiting for us. He showed us our room and provided a history of the farm, along with what there is to see and do in the area. It does not take much time to realize how proud Giovanni is of the lodging and the region. Breakfast is not served but rather guests are provided with a welcome basket of food – for us ham, cheese, tomatoes, eggs, bread and jams. There is also wine and an efficient Nespresso coffee machine. Our kitchenette was not large but had everything we needed. One of the reasons we chose Colle Cesoni were the wonderful reviews of meals. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to enjoy dinner but for very good reason. During the two days we stayed the chef and family were involved in a fundraiser in the town, and then in Rome, cooking pasta Amatriciana to raise money for the victims of the Amatrici earthquake. What a wonderful experience joining the residents of Casaprota in a gathering in the town’s square for a religious march, some music and a feed of pasta, all for a very good cause. We so much enjoyed our time with Giovanni and Anna Maria, especially hearing of Giovanni’s travels and life experiences as a journalist. Sitting on our terrace, with a glass of wine, with eagles in the trees, and sheep roaming the fields beyond, admiring the Sabine countryside is magical, so relaxing and peaceful. It is a long way from here in Canada to Italy but we can guarantee you if we are ever back we will certainly be returning to Colle Cesoni, and certainly for more than only two nights. And that is no doubt the best testament to how much we enjoyed our stay.

Me and my family had a great time at Colle Cesoni. The view from our historic house over the hills of Lazio was dreamlike. Our two children loved the pool and enjoyed playing in the garden. We will come back for sure! Leendert & Petra

We spent a wonderful week in Colle Cesoni relaxing on this olive estate. It has great views out over the Sabine Hills, just over an hour from Rome but a world away. We were really well looked after with a great welcome from the family of Giovanni, Annamaria, Ernesto and Laura who speak excellent English. The place offers self contained appartments suitable for families or couples where you can self cater . But for us the real plus was the really execellent four course meal we had each evening that Laura cooks in the summer months (check) - antipasti (say roasted vegetables picked fresh from the garden and meats or other small cooked dishes); pasta (say rigatoni amitriciana); main (say veal saltimbocca); and a dessert (say tiramisu). You can relax round the pool or visit some of the small hill towns around the area or take a trip to Tivoli if you wish.

We stayed at Colle Cesoni (Il Forno) for 5 nights. Everything was just perfect! The Agriturismo is located in a beautiful area. The view is really breathtaking. Every apartment has a large private garden with its own barbecue. We barbecued a lot and felt just like home. The inside of our apartment was very cosy and charming, yet very well kept and equipped with modern devices (a dishwasher, microwave, nespresso machine,...) The shared grounds are very big. With a lot of flowers, a vegetable garden and lots of olive trees,... The high point of the location was without a doubt the swimming pool. Most of the time it was just the 2 of us at the large pool. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We even got complimentary olive oil, wine, eggs and vegetables from the garden. If you are looking for a location to relax and discover the Italian hospitality, this really is the place to be.

We stayed four days over Easter 2016 here with our 2 kids. It was absolutely fantastic. Friendly hosts who did a lot to help us. The views are amazing and the location easy to find and reach. The apartments big and cozy. We can highly recommend this. We know the the region well after having lived here for 2 years and this is one of the best agriturismo we have seen...Kirstine and family

Colle Cesoni is conveniently close to the Via Salaria (SS4), so its is only a one hour drive from Rome. It is located in the beautiful Sabine hills. Rome is busy, noisy and crowded. The waiters there are rude. In the Sabine hills, it is the opposity. If you seek rest and quiet, this is the place. The people here are genuinely glad to have you as their guest. Mr. Spinelli, owner of Colle Cesoni, is a great host. He and his family prepared us a truly excellent dinner on the last evening of our stay. The ravioli with local truffles were delicious. The house 'Il Portico' is not large, but is has everything you need. The excellent wifi makes sure the kids are happy too! This is the ideal location to make trips to Rieti (visit Riete Underground!) and the nearby beautiful mountaintop villages.

The agriturismo is a really nice and easy distance from Rome. Giovanni welcomed us to il portico - perfect little set up for a family of 4, 2 kids aged 4 and 7 loved the balcony sleeping area. We bought our shopping for the week around the local area - there is a great alimentari just up the hill in casaprota that has everything (if you can't see it, ask). We wanted to relax for a week but took trips out for a few hours to the villages around - Montenero and Colle Lungo are worth parking on the outskirts and taking a walk though, as is casaprota. Everyone is so friendly. On the last night we didn't want to cook so we took advantage of the on site restaurant and it couldn't have been better. Welcomed by Giovanni's son and taken on a culinary tour of the local area courtesy of himself and his wife. The food and wine were amazing and price was really reasonable. Really enjoyed our stay, thanks :-)

I States at Colle Cesoni with my son and daughter-in-law and my two grandchildren, age 2 and 6 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery is beautiful and the atmosphere relaxing and peaceful, situated as it is off the beaten track. The apartments were comfortable and charming and the host Giovanni and his wife were very helpful. We loved having acces to the vegetable garden where we picked tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, basil for our supper. It was very hot when we stayed there so the pool was really a relief. Both the kids and the adults all loved it, just like we loved the green areas around the houses/apartments which allowed plenty of shade and playing room for the children. Last but not least, as cat lovers we were thrilled when we discovered there were cats at Colle Cesoni( two adults and three little kittens). Kirsten Fisher, Denmark
