The location was very good. Close to everything and across the street from wonderful pub. Close to theatre and boat cruises. Ideally situated for walking about. The Inn itself was nice, although we had a room that gave us no view at all. Best to book directly with the Inn to get better room. Also need to mention that there was no hair dryer in the newly refurbished room and that was disappointing. The breakfast was included and was good, although choices were limited.

The room was small but adequate. Slight musty smell that we got used to quickly. Be aware that your view will be very dependent on room - we had a view of the hotel roof. But that was fine with us, we weren't there to stay in the room and look out the window. Unfortunate part of our stay was the end...we got home and discovered that my partner left her curling iron in the room. We know exactly where she left it - so the next day we called the Inn to let them know. And because we're not that far away, we also called to let them know my partner was driving back to pick it up. Well, the Inn says that the cleaning staff didn't turn in the curling iron at all - so we're out of luck. I know its ultimately our fault for forgetting it in the room....but I would think that they should keep items left in the room for a day or two before bringing them home, right?

We booked on Expedia and we were looking forward to the spa. Within 2 mins of booking, I get an email from the hotel stating that the booking was non refundable and the spa is closed due to staffing. Come to find out, the spa has been closed since covid. When you go to the hotels website, it states that the spa is closed due to renovations. NO renovations were taking place at all. We reserved a king suite on the 3rd floor. When we arrived, we were told that room was not available, although, I paid for it. The owners son proceeded to give us room 505, and the view outside your room is a rooftop of the next building. Obviously, we were upset and the other man, Martin, gave us room 112, which faces that waterfront. We were appreciative of that. However, upon entering the room, the jacuzzi tub is right there, across from the bed. Normally, this would be fine, except that it was all carpeted in the room. The musty smell was overwhelming due to the carpet being soaked repeatedly from the tub. They really need to put some money into these rooms and get rid of the carpet and change the tile. The bathroom mirror was filthy, there was a crack in the bathroom window, so you can’t lock it, so overall, not worth the $700 we paid for 2 nights. We got a coupon for breakfast for both days. The breakfast was horrible. The young lady that served us this morning, should not be a server. We waited for 10 mins for cream for our coffee this morning. I finally got up and asked the other server for cream. The home fried potatoes were raw and disgusting. The toast was cold and there was so much butter on it it looked like mayonnaise. I asked for fresh toast and it took her so long to come back, we left after we eat out mediocre eggs. Super disappointed in this whole experience. Save your money and go elsewhere

Our friends had recommended this hotel to us because they had stayed there in the past over 5 times under the previous administration. We wanted to stay in Gananoque for the Labour day weekend and a week before our stay, we called the hotel to book 2 waterfront rooms at over $400 per room per night, such a higher rate being due, according to the hotel staff, to the waterfront view we were getting. What a disappointment it was for both couples at check- in and thereafter! First, we did not get the waterfront rooms we had booked a week earlier. The waterfront rooms had already been given to other guests and the front desk receptionist had nothing else to say to us other than to leave with a reimbursement if we didn't want the rooms facing the lawn she had given us. It was very late in the afternoon and we did not want to start looking for alternative accommodation elsewhere in Gananoque. So we reluctantly stayed in the motel-like room they gave us for one night only. Our friends had an even worse room with a small view on the backyard alley! We were obviously overcharged for the motel-like rooms with no waterfront view we were given. Our room was however clean, had a large bed, a small bathroom and a small TV. Second, at breakfast the next day, we were greeted by a rude and already exhausted waitress. Many people were waiting to be seated and we were finally given a table that had yet to be cleaned. It took them over 15 minutes to come to clean our table and give us the menus. Our room rate included a simple classic breakfast with eggs and bacon or sausage, toast and coffee. Other limited choices were available on the menu but at a surcharge. Third, regarding the SPA, which the hotel name leads guests to believe there is, well, there was none. The hotel administration should advise guests prior to booking that the SPA no longer exists. Or, they should simply change the hotel name to avoid any misrepresentations to guests. All in all, the only thing this hotel had to offer that was really nice was its spectacular waterfront view which, however, we only saw from the property lawn. We do not mind paying high rates for a room if the hotel provides the services and amenities they promise for the high price they charge. In this case, the hotel did not deliver on its promise to us. In addition, the hotel staff treated us as if they did not care for our business. We have travelled the world and had never experienced being treated so poorly. This hotel has no welcoming and friendly staff, no client servicing, motel-like rooms, no SPA, and a poor cuisine. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel and when we return to Gananoque, we will stay elsewhere.

Absolutely charming town. They need to take "and Spa" off their name because there are no spa services currently being offered. Definitely a pricey stay having paid over $400 for a motel-like room. We did it though because it looked inviting and well, location, location. We had a view of the bay which was so peaceful and pretty. Beds need replacing. My back was a wreck the next day. You get breakfast included at a certain rate. Forget it! Poor menu selection, undesirable meal presentation. Beautiful morning view on the terrace iverlooking the bay, but the food and service were lacking. Hope management steps up their game.

I don't take the time to do this usually but I want to share my last customer experience with others ... We have been there at least 7 times over the years and we use to had a great time ...not this time !!! First of all it's no longer operated by the same peoples we use to deal with. However the place is well maintained and the room are clean but far under average for the price I paid for. Secondly we made reservation weeks ahead to make sure we had what we were paying for ...water front. I even called because I saw a better rate on the web and I was told it was because I had a water front room ...ended up with a magnificent view of the lawn !!! The breakfast, included in the price was far from what we usually found in hotel asking for that kind of price ...breakfast included the basic two eggs and bacon and couples of small potatoes ...the rest was extra such as sausages for 2.00$ and the and what about the smiling and good-humored staff ... no smile, exasperation, long wait just like we were ghosts !!! Finally someone took pity and came to serve us a coffee ! I can understand it was the Labor Day long weekend and they were short staff but they should never forget that we are the customers and if we all feel the same this place will not survive for very long. To make my story short it was far from what it used to be !!!

Quality rooms with a view. A Spa that you deserve to experience. Cleanliness seemed a priority and it was certainly appreciated. Friendly staff. Tasty food. A place I would highly recommend to friends and family.

I visited Gananoque on a day trip last summer and thought it was beautiful so this spring we reserved a room at the Inn for my August visit to Canada. A few weels before my visit I checked in to Trip Advisor and read some really awful reviews of the inn-complaints about breakfast, cleanliness, staff, and more. I seriously considered canceling our reservation but thankfully I didn’t. We have had an absolutely wonderful visit. The front desk staff was welcoming, our bags were brought up to our room, the room was clean and nice with what looks like a brand new bathroom, the bed was comfortable and the bed linens lovely Breakfast is included in the room charge and we have absolutely loved sitting on the covered porch being served a hot breakfast (4 options) while watching the harbor. The service has been excellent and unrushed. We usually lingered there after breakfst with refills of coffee. I love being able to sit out in the Adirondack chairs on the dock abd being able to walk around the area. Our visit has been all I hoped for-relaxing and beautiful. Because the Inn is in a very old building, there is no elevator to the rooms in the main building. Staff wiilingly carry your bags. There are also sreep stairs down to the dock and lawn. I use a cane and managed the indoor steps by taking my time and walked down the driveway to reach the dock and lawn.if you have concerns I would talk to the staff to find which rooms would work best for you. It is a wonderful place with an amazing view.

My parents were celebrating their 50 anniversary, and this place did not disappoint. We upgraded to a waterfront room, which came with a designated parking space. Paper vouchers were given for a simple breakfast, which was a choice of classic breakfast (toast with scrambled or fried eggs, bacon), BLT, veggie sandwich (lettuce and tomato on toast), pancakes, and French toast. Breakfast is on one room/patio with lunch and dinner on a different room/patio. The location was spectacular. Not only with waterfront views, but also walkable to shops, the ships, the beach, and the playhouse. While the spa was not operating, the massage place was only a 10 min walk. After I finished at the beach, I could still sit on an Adirondack chair and enjoy the picturesque setting. The personal touches made a world of difference. Dinner was until 9, and on my parents’ anniversary, the waitress let us order dessert after 9 and didn’t rush us. All of the waitresses were attentive and kind. The front desk were quick to address any issues.

We have had lunch there many times but today experience was very much a disappointment. We were seated straight away and from that point we were totally ignored. Others who entered much later than us were served fairly promptly. We waited a good half hour to receive menus. Twice we had to seek out a server and request the status of our order. After one hour and fifteen minutes we left as our food still had not arrived. The sort of service is completely unacceptable. If it were my decision I would fire that server! She was completely inattentive and somewhat rude. This is a serious black mark on the Gananoque Inn
