Stayed here for two days and found the room well appointed and very clean. We enjoyed having the small private balcony. The included breakfasts were excellent and arrived in a speedy manner. Dinner, on the other hand was disappointing. We had heard all the about the quality produced by Markus the chef. Considering the German heritage of the chef we... More

Our stay at the Europa Inn was perfection The small inn with a small staff was a unique stop on our Maine Canadian vacation. The owner chef was always on hand to talk and make suggestions. If you enjoy slow pace personal service you will enjoy the Ritter ' s Europa Inn.

We stayed in this very nice inn just off the Main Street so that we could walk to the shops and restaurants. This is one of those amazing finds! The hotel and restaurant are owned and managed by a young German couple who started it in 2000 and have done a very nice job of offering stylized modern rooms which... More

Did not stay at the inn, but had back to back dinners because we enjoyed the food. We had the impression that this was a fairly new restaurant given the somewhat confused service. Everyone was polite, but service was slow and confused. If you are patient this is definitely a fine place to try in a very lovely town.

We had a comfortable room (108) with a balcony. The inn is very clean. They are only steps away from the downtown shops, pier, and restaurants. Everything is walking distance. Breakfast was fantastic!! The only drawback was the availability of internet access in our room. We were able to go downstairs to a little sitting room and everything worked fine.... More

Chef Marcus and Artist Simone Ritter are represented in every part of their inn. Marcus runs the kitchen masterfully and remodels the inn in his spare time, while Simone decorates the walls with her beautiful oils and water colors. The restaurant part is fully polished, combining local fare and flavors with favorites from the old (German) country like schnitzel. Our... More

Of course, the name of the restaurant should have rung a bell, but for some reason, I was under the impression we were headed for a French restaurant this evening. Needless to say it hit me the moment I looked at the menu; Rahmschnitzel, Jägerschnitzel and Wienerschnitzel with Spätzle. An unexpected but nice change of pace, especially the Spätzle. Since... Beautiful quaint town, wonderful scenery, great location! This was the perfect place to celebrate my 60th birthday. What we really liked best was the exceptional service we received at the inn. My husband called the inn early in the morning before we arrived. He wanted flowers, balloons, etc. in the room to surprise me. The owner went out of his... More

This is located in the heart of downtown St. Andrews. The room was big, king bed, kitchenette, very modern. The real gem here is the restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast here and every bite was amazing. This place is not to be missed. Dinner was one of the best meals I have ever had. The smoked salmon appetizer melted... More

I went with a group of six. Four of us order the house specialty, veal schnitzel. It's one of my favorite dishes so I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately both pieces of veal were very gristly. The other three thought theirs was okay. The two who ordered rack of lamb found it just okay. It was not an... More
