We travelled all the way from Chicago, IL to experience this dump of a resort. Some of the low lites include: • Smell of raw sewage at beach • Main lodge should be condemned • Cottage was severely leaning towards water • TV never worked all week, would promise someone would come by, never happened • Got stung by bees... We attended a wedding reception here at this wooded resort next to a lake in rural Ontario and had a wonderful experience. The resort was established in 1869 and the wooden grand restaurant dates back to that year. All the other buildings including the lodges are wooden and also date back to the 1800s. The rural wooden setting and Canadian... More

October 1st my daughter got married here and we couldn't be happier with the service, the food and the staff. Ted, the food and beverage manager was available, accomodating and friendly. The chef personally introduced himself to us and took our concerns seriously and made sure that everything was perfect. Penny, the wedding planner was amazing. There was nothing she... More

This is the second time I have stayed here, but wasn't quite as happy this time. It is a beautiful location, and the beach is nice. Most of the on location activities and amenities are not included in the high nightly room rate. We did enjoy our stay, but spent more than we originally expected.

Stayed here this past weekend and since my last visit two years ago the physical condition has worsened. Railing outside our unit has still not been , evidence of major rotting of many structures and older main building smells of mildew. BUT......the breakfast was really good , fresh, hot and delicious and table service top notch for our group. Would... More

Very nice location on the shores of lake Rosseau. We stayed there in two bedroom cottages for a couples golf trip to the area. The cottages are quaint but tired and in desperate need of some maintenance or an upgrade. They do not spend enough effort on upkeep. It was reasonably clean and the staff very friendly so we looked... More

If you are looking for a hotel with contemporary decorating, and romantic moments this may not be the place for you in high season. But if you want a Muskoka cottage experience and cannot pay three thousand a week this place is for you. Tons of other kids in the cottages and on the beautiful beach and in the pool.... More

We started going to Cleves when it was run by the Cornell Family. A family who took great pride in maintaining the history, landscape and family values that was so important towards making Cleves the success that it was for all of those years. Sadly, the Cornell Family ended up selling their masterpiece to a conglomerate who, slowly but surely,... More

I can get by with a little rustic living for a weekend, but this place is not worth the $400 spent to stay two nights. The buildings are old, musty, run down, not maintained well and completely serviced by young adults. The breakfast buffet at C.J. Minett was the worst $20 spent. Watered down coffee, charged $2.50! Cold home potatoes,... More

We make our way to Clevelands House with primarily one purpose in mind.....to see, to be entertained by and to be mesmerized by the fact that so much talent can lie within one individual, namely Jamie Williams. Jamie is the only reason we keep returning and the lure of his performance is evidenced by how busy the venue is on... More
