Stayed for one night while visiting Auckland. Perfect location if you are in Takapuna area, a quick walk from the beach and the town. Rooms are a good size and clean and safe. The hotel is a bit old in style but this fits with its overall attraction. But not book this place if you want a swank modern place....

A clean and nicely furnished room very comfortable for purpose. 3 hours of complimentary wifi was a bit on the light side for 2 nights however it was better than having to pay for it. The door opening into a small almost courtyard type garden was pleasant and calming. Loved that the unit had a full functioning stove also. Bed...

Stayed 2 nights for work purposes. Rooms very nice, clean, pleasant decor, well equipped. Lots of lush vegetation, but this has made the parking spaces very very small and difficult to get in and out of if you have a larger car!

Reasonable price tho not budget accommodation. Ideally situated for beach front and Takapuna shopping & restaurants. Setting is very lush and peaceful but parking and vehicle manoeuvring is tight. We arrived after 7pm so no reception available at that time? There was however a directional arrow with our name & a key under the mat. We had thought of taking...

Lovely from the gardens to the room, and within a minute walk of a nice beach and an excellent cafe on the water (along with many bars and restaurants 10 mins walk up the road). Check in was quick and easy. Rooms very clean and modern with good beds. Rooms/units have their own entrance and at least one parking stop...

Overall good place in Takapuna: nice staff at the front desk, clean & cosy and close to the beach as well as many restaurants. Customer service is to be improved though: one day the cleaning staff refused to come back 15 mins later and just gave us the towels. Besides breakfast is not served on week ends and only from...

A friend and I were attending a conference in Takapuna, and this was on the list of nearby hotels. We booked a two-bedroom suite with kitchen facilities, and the experience was delightful. First, I had to change our arrival date twice as our travel plans changed, and they were extremely prompt in responding to email and very pleasant and helpful....

Rooms are clean and well decorated. Walking distance to numerous shops and eateries, the most awesome Takapuna Beach Cafe (every morning ginger/lemon/honey tonic and the best date scones you will ever eat) is worth noting. There is also a great beach 2 blocks down where runners, walkers, swimmers, paddle boarders and lots and lots of dogs go! Very beautiful. Only...

The rooms are tastefully decorated and the Emerald Inn is located just a minutes walk from the beach. Restaurants and cafes are also very close. Takapuna does not have handy 24/11 stores to sell groceries so if you are without a car it is a bit of a trek to the supermarket but all motels would have this problem. There...

We have spent four weeks at the Emerald Inn during our transfer back to NZ. We booked a villa on Alison Ave. two bedrooms dining and lounge and full kitchen and laundry. A stones throw from the beach and a great view. I cannot think of anywhere better for a long stay in Auckland - close to beach, restaurants, public...
