My Villa stay was just fine but the customer service with the Silversands Staff was horrendous. I’ll never forget my experience there. I booked the villa for my bday & spoke with Julia to get permission to use the beach for a fire show. Not only did I speak with her but the fire performer spoke with her as well because he had done shows there before. She told us she would have a bon fire set up on the beach but that never happened. The beach was pitch black. She also didn’t tell security anything so not only did the performer have a hard time getting in so did my family and friends and because of that they missed the performance which was the pinnacle of my party. My husband had to speak to the owner and raise hell just for them to get back onto the property. All of this could of been avoided if JULIA did her job but she’s clearly incompetent and doesn’t have any pride in her work. I’ll never stay on this property again and I’ll make sure everyone knows that my birthday was pretty much ruined due to the staff’s negligence.…

We stayed at the Windjammer villa. Otis was our chef and went above and beyond for us. He made our experience so memorable and fun. His cooking is incredible. Our housekeeping staff were so kind and friendly. By the end of our stay Otis had become a good friend of ours and helped us plan our next visit. He made us a variety of meals from Jamaica and the USA. We had a different dinner every night and each was better than the last. Our housekeeping staff Michele and Shanna were so awesome, they too became our friends by the end of our stay. 100/10 would recommend

As a Jamaican, I've heard about the magic of Silver Sands for years, but this was my first time booking a holiday here. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a try so we could have a family vacation with my mother-in-law visiting from Germany. We stayed at the quaint Sea Spray villa. We were steps from the beach so we spent every day moving between our pool to the beach. The house staff were lovely and kind ladies. Once you organize things clearly with them, they will deliver. For me, the stay was as close to peaceful old Jamaica as you can get. No loud music blaring at night ... easy going vibes ... beautiful beach ... mix of locals and visitors in the neighborhood. We had a wonderful time and I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend the snorkeling trip to the reef. If you have kids, I recommend bringing boogie boards for the afternoon waves. Make sure to go down by the beach for a calm early morning swim. …

I visited Silver Sands on August 15-22. Initially we booked Primrose Path but upon getting there, saw that there was heavy construction taking place. Literally digging with machines in the stones. Of course, we were not advised to this prior to our arrival. We decided that this would not work, since we were there for a relaxing vacation. The owner was only willing to take 10% off for for the inconvenience with the noise which was simply just ridiculous. This part of our trip I would rate a 0. More happened when it came down to that particular villa but I wont even elaborate. The fact that we weren't told about the construction taking place steps away and them trying to force me to pay for groceries I didn't authorize to buy, totally over $600 USD, is bad enough. After realizing that we could not stay at Primrose Path, I reached out to Nicole from the Silver Sands team and advised her of our situation. She was so apologetic, understanding, caring and kind. She immediately understood our situation and jumped into action. She made countless phones calls to see what other villas were available and was able to put a few together for us to choose from. We ended up opting for Dukes Hideaway, and to say it was the best decision, would be an understatement. Yes, we had to pay a bit more, but it was totally worth it. Because it was such short notice, we were told it would take sometime to get the staff together but the owners and Nicole worked diligently and was able to get us our full staff that very evening, after they explained to us that we may not have a full staff until in the morning, because the staff lived between 1-1.5hrs away from the villa. The owner had another villa very close by and had someone from that villa come down to open up for us. I completely forgot her name, but she was so kind and gracious to us. Treated us like we were longtime friends. I'm just so annoyed that I don't remember her name. Miss Marlette was our full time house keeper, Mr. Andy, our butler, Miss Daslin, our cook and Miss Bev our part time housekeeper, were our staff. These angels are the ones that made our vacation so amazing. There was nothing they wouldn't do for us. It was such a delight to wake up to their gracious, accommodating faces every single morning. Mr Andy would cut our coconuts everyday to make sure we were fully hydrated with coconut water and jelly. Miss Daslin made the most amazing meals for us and both Miss Bev and Miss Marlette made sure our laundry and rooms were cleaned to perfection. The house was amazing and modern, but these 4 people, tuned that house into a legit home for us and we are eternally grateful. We usually visit Jamaica twice a year and I am actually happy our mishap with Primrose Path happened because if it didn't, we wouldn't have met or been able to stay at Dukes Hideaway. The house is literally steps from the beach and the kids had a lot of fun playing in the pool at nights. We will most definitely book Dukes again as apart of our yearly trips. I'll do my best to be as comprehensive (detailed) as possible. And will first say there were way more pro's than con's. June 24th, 2023: Flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to spend some time with the in-laws and then to leave the kiddos with them as this was a adult-only trip. July 1st, 2023: American airlines flights from South Dakota to Dallas Fort Worth and then to Montego Bay. All flights were on time and joyful, and arrived in Jamaica at 2:30pm. Only disappointment was the flight attendants forgot to attain immigration forms prior to leaving Dallas. Meaning they would have to be filled out by passengers after deplaning, thus eating up time prior to going through security/immigration. Club MoBay: Purchased earlier in the year to facilitate immigration entry and baggage claim. Unfortunately, and though completed online well in advance of the travel, immigration official was unable to find completed form. Thus actually had to manually fill out form at the counter. And then the "mistake" occurred for which the immigration official/clerk stamped my passport twice! Causing her to have to discuss with her boss. So instead of 2-3 minute interaction with immigration, it ended up being 15-20 mins. Very disappointing. Baggage claim in MoBay: Huge delay (30 plus minutes in a very hot and humid terminal) as the equipment used to remove luggage was not working. In addition, damage was done to the luggage of two (2) of the couples we were with. The saving grace: Club MoBay "room" had very cold red stripes and excellent rum punch. Silversands shuttle: Was prompt and the shuttle bus was quite large (roomy) for us (3 couples). And as I had requested, six (6) red stripes were in a cooler on the shuttle. Disappointing arrival at Summertime: Immediately found out that the couple who arrived several hours earlier than us, and for which I had asked months earlier for them to be provided lunch, did not get lunch. In fact, Summertime was not ready for them (or us)? Were still getting the villa ready. And most importantly, no cold water, beers, etc. in the fridge. And for this last piece, it was a common occurrence in which we had to fill the fridge with our "needs" on a daily basis. Menu challenge (mistake): Many months prior to trip, I had used the Silversands recommendation by taking their recommended 14-day, 3-meals a day menu and customized it into 6 and 1/2 days (to align with our stay). In short, and unfortunately, the amount of food purchased not only did not align with our choices, but was not sufficient. The company owner/representative (Dyce) who purchased the food and was aware of the price and ingredient discrepancies, left Summertime prior to our arrival (Saturday afternoon) and did not return until Monday afternoon to explain. Lesson Learned: Have Silversands review menu request prior to arrival and make clear the estimated cost per person/couple per day. Is it within your budget? And if willing to spend more to align with menu, they should not assume you are unwilling or not capable of going above budget. This "mistake" greatly affected our stay and took away for truly relaxing and enjoying ourselves during the stay. Staff: Paul (chef), Sheryl (Maid) and Boris (The All-Everything Man) were great. Paul whipped up dishes that we truly enjoyed. Sheryl was always on standby to carry out personalized laundry, cleaning, etc. In fact, and on one occasion, she went above and beyond in setting up a nice Anniversary celebration for one of the couples in our group. Boris was constantly smiling, working and willing to do anything to ensure we were enjoying our stay. Furniture, etc.: Bedroom AC worked perfectly. Minimal mosquitos were encountered. Beds/mattresses and pillows were comfortable. Patio and pool seating areas, and furniture were comfortable. The fans and the coolness of the pool were sufficient to remove much of the heat and humidity we were in. Landscaping was well done and provided us the privacy we desired. And the views from the patio to the Sea were spectacular. Con's: The "cable" for the Summertime tv's would sometimes show various error messages preventing us from watching tv whether in the bedrooms or living room. Not a big deal since it was seldom we turned them on. Kitchen fridge (and freezer) were not as cold as we were accustomed to (here in the US-Arizona). Water and beers (when we had them) had to be placed in the freezer overnight to get to the desired cold, drinkable temperature. And finally, the construction (noise) taking place next door and across the street, did disrupt our stay. We were told about the construction four (4) days before our scheduled flights. Not much time to reschedule. Overall - This is my third stay at Summertime, however, for this trip I was the "host." The other three (3) couples had previously been to Jamaica (at all-inclusive's); though this was their first time at Silversands. All-in-all, and disregarding some of the challenges faced in aligning with our well in-advance desired/requested food choices (menu), fridge/freezer temperature and construction noise, the stay was great. So yes, we will visit Silversands again in the near future. P.S. I've also stayed at Windjammer. Great staff there also.…

We rented this villa for 7 days. Most of us travelled from abroad and we were looking forward to a wonderful family vacation. This villa is an older house and though the bathrooms have been updated, more work needs to be done. On day 2, 3 of the showers were backed up, one AC was not working and we found a cockroach in one suitcase and one in the bed, plus a centipede in the bathroom and a baby lizard in another one of our bags and a cockroach in the cutlery drawer. The pool wall also needs painting or tiling. To their credit, the backed up shower was corrected the following day, and only backed up again on our last day. The AC unit was replaced 2 days after it broke down. The house is also not very secure. There are 3 entrance points and several places on the outside that are blind spots where an intruder could hide. We could have overlooked all of these issues but the service we received from the 2 ladies assigned to look after us was unbelievably disappointing. From the start, they were unpleasant, uncommunicative and rude. The food was very mediocre but suddenly improved 2 days before our departure. The head cook had been applauded online for being fantastic, so it seemed odd that the quality of the food was inconsistent. There was also an exchange about milk and ketchup which we were told was “theirs”, so we had to kindly ask if we could use “theirs” and say that we would replace it the next time we did our shopping. They did not clean the house or our rooms for the entire trip. There were too many incidents to detail here, but I cannot recommend this house or the ladies who were assigned to us.…

We had an enjoyable family vacation staying at Mango Hill, a spacious, modern villa located in the Silver Sands gated community. This was our first trip to Jamaica. Mango Hill is located 3-4 blocks from the private beach which is well-maintained with life guard on duty during the day. The currents were fine as the beach is enclosed by a reef further offshore. We rented a golf cart to travel to the beach and back, which was fun and convenient with young kids. We also hired a car/driver for the entire week to help us explore the island, averaging one trip per day to various locations which were as close as 20 minutes for places near Falmouth and nearby river tours, and over an hour away for attractions near Ocho Rios (e.g., Dolphin Cove, Dunn’s River Falls). Mango Hill comes with full-time staff including one person who lives on premise. Each of the staff were professional, friendly and the food was delicious. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, the service was attentive and thoughtful. This was our first time having staff on site which seems to be the norm in Jamaica, especially for larger villas. Overall, this was a great experience. We tend to be more adventurous on vacation and avoid the larger resorts. Much of the research we read (current travel books) and watched online (YouTube) was informative and accurate (e.g., don’t be in a hurry, have cash which is preferred by locals). Just had another wonderful stay at Primrose Path villa, Silver Sands! Cannot say enough about Sheldon and Donna who went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of and comfortable for our entire stay. This is our 2nd stay at Summertime Villa & I cant believe it but it was the best one yet! The staff is out of this world from Boris (Butler, who’s been caring for the house for over 25 years) to Sheryl the housekeeper and Kimsan the new chef! Kimsan totally outdid herself, she took care of all the groceries, I spoke to her over the phone to talk about likes/dislikes and allergies, etc. Her presentation at breakfast & dinner was unmatched, she’d start with an appetizer, entrée & then a dessert at every dinner for 7 nights, it was spectacular. The location of the Summertime Villa is perfect, literally just a few steps away from the stairs that take you down to the beach, the most beautiful beach you’ll lay your eyes on. The whole team at mysilversands was great and we’ll definitely be back, every year, for sure!!! Note to homeowner: Please keep this staff happy, we hope to see them every year when we visit. …
