Within the village you will find two pubs serving real local ales and good home cooked food, both offering a takeaway service. Also a grocery store, a gift shop and a café. From the quay a passenger ferry (a short, but very pleasurable trip) takes you across to the well-known adorable harbour town of Fowey with plenty more shops, including bakers, butcher, a chemist, restaurants, more pubs, and takeaways. I cannot review this place enough. Owners are extremely nice and helpful. I was doing a 282 mile charity hike and these guys allowed me to camp here. Not only that, my phone got water damage in the storm. But thankfully to these guys we managed to sort it. They have all the amenities you need. Including a chill out library area which is very warm and cosy. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay then please go here. I’m looking to go back next year but this time for pleasure with the family.

Every now and again you happen upon a campsite that’s just perfect, the Polruan Holidays site is just that. Ray & Liz couldn’t be more helpful or hardworking - the site is immaculate and clearly well maintained. The site just feels so relaxed and that’s down to their friendly approach, always visible and happy to help, with great know of the local area and services. If you want some peace and quiet with great sea views and coastal walks from the site Polruan Holidays gives you that. Thanks for a great stay and hope to stay with you again sometime!

Just returned from a wonderful week in our motorhome at Polruan Holiday park. Liz and Ray could not be more welcoming. We have stayed at many touring sites both in the UK and Europe and this site is up there with the best. Very peaceful, well maintained with modern clean facilities. It’s a 10 minute walk down a hill to the lovely harbour town of Polruan which has two pubs a bakery, a well stocked convenience store and a cafe. At the harbour you can catch a small ferry across to Fowey which takes 10 minutes. The climb back up to the site could be a bit of a challenge for those who are less able. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to those wishing to find peace.

An excellent campsite, very well run and maintained. The owners are friendly, helpful and hard-working, and keep the facilities spotless. This was our fourth time at the site - we don't often go back to many places more than once! If you like camping and Cornwall, this is the place to go.

The campsite is a credit to Liz & Ray. They are always visible and keep the site tip top. The facilities are clean and tidy, the grounds are clean and tidy. During my stay i was unfortunate to need an emergency dental appointment which both Liz and Ray were very helpful in supplying the correct phone number to contact. The bus service that runs from the site entrance to Polruan, Polperro,& Looe is excellent if you do not have your own transport or prefer not to drive. The information supplied at reception is regularly updated. The main downside is the horrendous hill to and from the harbour at Polruan( it helps to keep you fit i suppose)

Our fourth visit to Polruan Camping. We love this site. It has the most spectacular views out to sea. It is a quiet site so don’t expect the usual campsite entertainment but this suits us as a family. The site has a strict no noise policy after 10.30pm and during all our times here fellow campers respect this and this is one of the the reasons why many return Ray and Liz are great hosts and extremely helpful. The site is immaculate and facilities clean and functional. The site is in an elevated position above Polruan so the walk down is a pleasure but walk back a bit more challenging. There is a regular bus service at a Polruan Quay and if you ask the driver to drop you at the campsite he is more than happy to oblige. Polruan Quay is a lovely place to hang out. The Lugger Inn has a hatch serving drinks and it is great to sit at the harbour watching the boats and people playing around in the water. Polruan is a working harbour and C Toms the boat repairer is located centrally but the activity adds to the charm of the place. One of the best features is the regular water taxis to Fowey. So if you want the bright lights of Fowey and an amazing choice of pubs, bars and restaurants then what a way to arrive from Polruan. We found returning to a quieter Polruan was a great trade-off. Looking forward to returning!

Stayed over in Motorhome. Fabulous site. 5 stars for facilities, tidiness, cleanliness, peacefulness etc. dropped one for site location. For us, the walk up and down to village amenities was just a tad too steep to be done more than once. No parking at the bottom by harbour. The 4 miles along lanes to access site - a bit to long and narrow. But that’s Cornwall and what makes it unique. Just found everything we wanted to do was tricky.

Thank you for your honest review and good advise regarding the hill down to the village. There is a bus service which stops right outside the campsite and runs about 5 times a day going both down the hill to the quay as well as Polperro and Looe. However, the service does not run in the evening or weekends

We have stayed at this fantastic campsite many times. It is in a beautiful location with great access to Fowey via the passenger ferry. It is very quiet, even though not adults only, and Liz and Ray are the perfect hosts ensuring everything is clean and as it should be. We’ve been to many campsites all over the country and this would be our first choice.
