We stayed in one of the bell tents. The bed was comfy and I liked having the futons to sit on. The tent was well kitted with plates, cups, candles and fairy lights and outdoor fire pit to cook on. The communal kitchen had further pots and pans. There was also a table tennis table. The loo and shower were basic and rustic, this isn’t a complaint, it’s what u expect when camping. The site is very remote but lovely, the tents are well placed apart. We saw moor hens, hares and deer in the field nearby. The hosts were lovely. They came to check that we had settled in ok and I mentioned I had a flat tire and was a bit anxious about getting a truck to site, the owners very kindly helped me get the spare wheel on, which meant I could sleep safely without worrying about trying to get it sorted I. The morning. This was going completely over and above and I really appreciated their help!!…

We only stayed for one night, but we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The couple that run it are super friendly, and they pointed us in the direction of a close-by pub for dinner. Our 4 year old son was in awe of the large teepee/tent. If we ever return to Salisbury, we will make this a stop for sure.

We stayed for two nights and couldn’t have been happier, everything was provided for us by Duncan and Fiona. The tent and the site were beautiful, the walk to the Horseshoe Inn was lovely with lots of wildlife to see on your way. Will definitely go back

We are absolutely delighted with our stay here. The tents are spacious and comfortable, and the facilities just as advertised. The off-grid nature of the field is a blessing and we did not miss our devices at all. During the day the views are spectacular and the field offers plenty of space for family activities, while at night the sky is spectacular providing the clouds play ball. It's the little things that make a great difference, and there is no shortage of thoughtful touches. We enjoyed the cider on arrival and the coolbox for our own drinks, while in the evening we lit a fire and toasted marshmallows while stargazing. Solar-battery lights and lanterns complete the ambience, though plenty of tealights and holders are supplied too if you need the extra illumination. A word on campsite facilities: rather rustic in appearance, but spotless and in good working order. Having a fixed stove in a sheltered location in particular makes cooking a breeze, but a proper toilet and a frankly enormous showering enclosure are a plus as well. Lastly, a couple of observations: 1) the tents are not entirely free of insects, and we did evacuate several that we didn't like the look of, but if this is a concern then camping in general may not be for you. 2) the parking area is shaded and is approximately 100m to the farthest tent (much closer to the nearest). The walk is flat with no obstructions (a grassy field). I mention this because I have not seen an approximate distance given elsewhere.…

We only stayed for three nights, but the campsite offered such a relaxing environment for a holiday with friends after our exams. Thank you! The facilities were perfect and exactly what we needed. We would definitely come back.

I went here for a mum and daughter style getaway and I'm so glad I did. The Internet signal is patchy but trust me this is THE biggest blessing. Time slowed down and the land is so beautiful, a far cry away from the noisy fast pace of life giving you some much needed time to pause and reconnect. We had pure sunshine. Walks, reading, sun baving, wine, roasted marshmallows, ping pong, ghost stories ... excellent. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, I was able to charge my phone when needed & change ice packs for the cool box. The local country pub was an hours walk through a lovely scenic route! (Trousers, trainers & map recommended). Another big plus, gas powered shower & a gas stove for a brew in the morning. Would 100% return.

Bike packing through New Forest and struggling to find a place to stay. We found this lovely campsite which had great reviews. Arrived, pitched chatted with the friendly owners before heading into nearest village for a burger and beer in their lovely garden. Can recommend the Queens Head - Covid complaint pub. Overall, great price, good facilities and enjoyed the open fire pit (something you can’t have in the New Forest)

We just came back from here for a festival themed hen do and we had the most incredible time. It’s the most scenic and beautiful site and Duncan was a legend helping us in every way he could! Fiona checked in on us too and their dog Belle was the cutest little addition to our party. We couldn’t imagine a better location. Nice toilets too! I would thoroughly recommend it!

Stayed for two nights with my 14 year old daughter, beautifully presented tent with lovely comfy double mattress. Utensils, crockery and glasses provided plus lovely little touches such as marshmallows for toasting on the fire, cider and a basket of logs. Amazing outlook, the stars at night were spectacular as no light pollution. Toilet and shower worked well and all clean. Only thing I'd mention is don't expect a lay in with young children up and running about at 6am shouting and screaming, would be fab if the campsite held a few weeks of the year as an adult only campsite so you could truly relax. If you have got young children it is a dream as they all play together and it's completely safe. I would definately return, very reasonably priced, lovely location, 5 stars from me.…

Really laid back experience. Duncan and Fiona were attentive but not to much! The location is just beautiful and peaceful (apart from the kids!) it is pretty rural but here are lovely little villages with pubs close by and a really hndy little store in Sixpenny handley. The tents themselves were large and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen facilities are very basic but have everything you need for a short camping trip. The children absolutely loved running around the huge field the tents are in and sitting under the beautiful oak tree, you really can just let them wonder off and sit back and relax without worrying. The farm dogs came to visit a lot much to the delight of all the campers, and we had an early morning visit from a small herd of escapee sheep, which just added to the country experience! I would definitely recommend Chalke Valley and would love to return wth a group of friends and hire out the entire place. BRILLIANT PLACE!!!…
