We stayed for 3 nights at The Calf Shed, which is a fairly new accommodation onsite at Broxhall Farm about 20-30 metres from the Glamping Experience Hut and part of the main cottage. My partner and I have never stayed in farm accommodation before, but thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It's a 15 minute drive to Canterbury for a city full of all ammenities, but was lovely to drive back and return to a quiet farm surrounded by peace and nature. There is also a pub (The Duck) nearby about a 5-10 minute walk from the farm across the fields. Tom & Ellen were very welcoming. They advised about booking local tourist attractions and insisted we ask if there was anything we needed, which was very kind of them. Overall The Calf Shed was extremely clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay and more. See pictures for the welcome hamper, it included chocolate brownies, which was a bonus! - Thank you again for our stay, I am sure we will be back again. We also thoroughly recommend purchasing their own rump steaks and burgers to take home or cook there on the BBQ Pit.…
We had a wonderful time in the Herdsman's Hut - Ellen and Tom were so welcoming and shared some wonderful insights in the local area, places to walk and visit, as well as the incredible setting the farm provides too. It's a fantastic location, with brilliant views down the valley to the renowned nearby Duck Inn. A few glorious kilometres of walking to the village of Bishopsbourne rewarded us with a delightful lunch at the Tadpole cafe, before a well-earned evening by the fire-pit and bbq that's all meticulously provided next to the hut. We loved how close the farm animals were and we'll be looking to return when we can. Thank you so much again for a wonderful stay, Ben and Emma
We stayed for the weekend in this lovely setting, we were greated by the lovely owners Elle and Tom they were very welcoming, friendly and informative. The cabin was cosy, nice decor with a comfy bed. It's situated in a lovely peaceful setting and a good central location for Canterbury, Margate, Ramsgate, Winstable. Also a lovely local pub called the Duck which famously one of the Bond novels was written, really recommend the pork lion for dinner it was gorgious. Thanks Elle and Tom highly recommend
This unique spot is absolutely perfect for a slice of rural heaven. With easy access to Canterbury city centre, this is great for some peaceful Kentish countryside without being too far from the hustle and bustle! The Herdsman's hut has all the amenities needed and everything has been thought about. Tom and Ellen are absolutely lovely hosts and Ellen's granola is a definite try for breakfast! There is a fire pit if you're keen for a bbq, or it's a short stroll across the field to the pub. Cannot recommend enough!
This was a wonderful B & B located in the middle of the countryside but with easy access to Canterbury and the Kent coast. We were looking for a quiet weekend away and couldn't have asked for more. Ellen & Tom were extremely welcoming and friendly, and they provided the most fantastic breakfast with lots of homemade and local goodies. The Duck Inn, a short walk away is an excellent local pub and well worth a visit. Thank you for a great stay.
