I have so much to say about Ciara (owner) I don't know where to start. From the emails for booking my reservation, Ciara made me feel very welcoming. Unfortunately my mother is in a nursing home not far from Margaret's B&B. Ciara was able to let me know she was in walking distance of the nursing home. I have just went through Gastric Bypass surgery and I can only eat certain foods, Lactose free milk etc...When I informed Ciara of this, right away Ciara was like not a problem I will have food for you. As soon as I walked into the B&B there was a wonderful warm feeling in Ciara's home. Checkin was amazing, My room was spotless, my bathroom was great, exceptionally clean room and bathroom. Lets get down to the food. OMG!! After talking to Ciara during my stay I was shocked to hear Ciara has never been properly school trained as a chef, she learnt how to cook and bake from her mum. The reason I am sharing this, is because, I truly thought I was eating from a 5 star chef, EVERYTHING!! that came out of Ciara's kitchen was exception. From the home made Wheaten Bread, anyone who is not local, google it, Eggs, Bacon, Potato Bread, Soda Bread was cooked to perfection, I wish I could have eaten this everyday, but unfortunately my new little stomach would not allow me. Ciara had gotten me Lactose free milk, Lactose free cream cheese, vegan butter, what can I say, WOW!!! Right away Ciara asked me what I can eat, I ran through a few items and she immediately bought food for me to eat during my stay. Ciara knew the nursing home staff and offered to make fresh pastries for me everyday for them, amazing and a great great price as well. During my stay Ciara would leave out little afternoon snacks, oh and decaf tea for me, Smoked Salmon and fresh baked Wheaten bread with my lactose free cream cheese, amazing, I would like to think I could say this was especially for me, but it wasn't. This is just Ciara's way of service.

Stayed for 3 nights, fantastic stay, great rooms, wonderful breakfast and fantastic sea views.
Spoilt by Ciara as host and her staff who bakes lovely fresh cake and tray bakes to be enjoyed in the large lounge overlooking the golf course and sea.
Photo does not do it justice. We have already booked another stay.

My family and I booked Margaret's cottage for afternoon tea for a birthday celebration. The experience was absolutely delightful.
The room itself is so cosy and welcoming with beautiful views over the water and of the castle. I could have spent all day relaxing on the sofas listening to the music and looking at the view.
The owner, Ciara, provided exceptional but unobtrusive service. I had my infant daughter with me and Ciara had the high chair all set up on arrival. The teapot was continually topped up and nothing was too much trouble.
Ciara also went above and beyond in catering for my dairy allergy- a special platter of dairy free scones, coconut cream, oat milk, sandwiches and chocolate treats was made and for once I didn't feel like I was missing out in the slightest- actually I think I got the best end of the deal as the food was absolutely delicious, and plentiful.
We have already rebooked to go back.
Thank you Ciara for making a special birthday so memorable.

Our stay at this pleasant and well appointed facility was a pleasure from the moment we arrived and were invited to park our car in front to our departure after a delicious breakfast. We came to play golf at the Ardglass golf course situated immediately across the street but would have gladly stayed longer just to enjoy the comfort in this beautiful setting.
Ciara is wonderful host, taking into consideration everything her guests need. Her scones served with cream and homemade jam are delicious and her breakfast offerings the best we were served in Ireland. Our room was perfectly appointed and provided for our every need.

I came across Margaret’s Cottage on FB, and I’m so glad I did! What’s not to like! the house has loads of character and decorated beautifully. On arrival Ciara made us tea/coffee and some home made caramel squares, which where delicious. We had a very tasty breakfast the next morning, fresh fruit, granola, cereals, wheaten bread and yogurts. This was followed by a stack! Of pancakes with the best bacon I have ever had, I forgot to ask where she got it! Margaret’s cottage is a wonderful b&b all the little touches make it very special, the linen napkins and silver cutlery all make it feel a very special place to stay. Thank you Ciara for a lovely visit, we will return.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm so pleased you liked our wee house by the sea, and I'm delighted that you loved your breakfast too. We source as many of our products locally [as we can] and our bacon, sausages and black pudding comes from our local butcher in Ardglass called I.K. Meats. We look forward to seeing you again. x

I stayed with my family and elderly father which meant we had booked all B&B rooms. We stayed Friday night and my husband and father played the golf course right in front of the B&B. We had dinner and drinks in the club house and had an easy walk back. Margaret's cottage is a beautiful retreat on a Friday night after a busy work week. We sat curled up on the settee in the drawing room with a roaring fire and amazing sea views. Ciara (the host) and her daughter were brilliant and the home cooked bread and excellent breakfast were thoroughly enjoyed. We will be back.

We had a delightful couple of days at Margaret’s B&B. This home is just so sweet. Our room was so comfortable. Gorgeous bed. Ciara is truly a wonderful host and honestly, her breakfasts are as good if not better than many boutique hotels. She is just a lovely person and attended to our every need. We got take away fish and chips in Ardglass one evening and Ciara recommended where we could buy a bottle of wine (just a few doors away). She lit the fire and set the table in her lovely front room, took care of the washing up etc. My husband rented clubs and played golf at the Ardglass golf club directly across the street from Margaret’s. He is a good golfer and loved the course. And he’s a tough marker. I walked the course with the group we joined and the views of the sea, which you can see from every hole, were magnificent. Strongly recommend Margaret’s B&B.

I have to say that I've never been a fan of B&B's for a number of reasons and my stay with Ciara has changed all that. Her accommodations are are spacious and super private. You have the whole downstairs to yourself and she has a wonderful living area upstairs to sit and have a whiskey after your day. Ciara made a gorgeous fire that lasted hours.
The breakfast in the morning was full of choices that was prepared with such care. She has a knack for baking and it shows.
You will not be disappointed with your stay here.

Superb afternoon tea, fabulous food and Ciara went over and above to ensure all our dietary needs were met. Would highly recommend this venue. We were a party of 12 with children, adults and grandparents and there was something for everyone. The girls loved the hot chocolate and heart shaped sandwiches and the birthday cake was Divine. Thank you so much to Ciara and her daughter.

Thank you for your kind words. It was so lovely to meet everyone, and I'm delighted I was able to include everyone in the delicious treats that I bake, so that you all enjoyed your birthday afternoon tea. We don't have an allergen-free kitchen [we just have a domestic one] , however I take every reasonable precaution to avoid allergen contamination and it was good to keep up correspondence with you before the event, to ensure both you and I were comfortable with my catering arrangements. Especially with both gluten and nuts being airborne allergens. Glad you loved it! x
