Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ciara, we found out, is a take charge kind of gal… 4 Canadian golfers arrived on her doorstep early afternoon on a September day and she took care of everything from there. Boys, head over for lunch at the club house across the street (Ardglass) before your round. I’ll make reservations at the restaurant next door for dinner after your golf (Aldos) and then you should visit the pub down the street for a night cap. We did as we were told and wouldn’t you know it every recommendation spot on! Although we only stayed one night we can’t say enough good things about hospitality we were shown. Cheers Ciara!

And when you went up to the bar in the golf clubhouse, to order your lunch, the bar staff told you, "Ciara has just phoned us, to let you know that dinner at Aldo's is booked for 7pm" Well, what can I say, this take-charge-kinda-gal aims to please. I was delighted to meet you all, and I was delighted that our wee place was part of your Irish golf holiday. Please come and stay again, when you are next down this way. The Guinness is always cold and the welcome is always warm.

Our stay at this pleasant and well appointed facility was a pleasure from the moment we arrived and were invited to park our car in front to our departure after a delicious breakfast. We came to play golf at the Ardglass golf course situated immediately across the street but would have gladly stayed longer just to enjoy the comfort in this beautiful setting. Ciara is wonderful host, taking into consideration everything her guests need. Her scones served with cream and homemade jam are delicious and her breakfast offerings the best we were served in Ireland. Our room was perfectly appointed and provided for our every need.

Our two night stay for golf at the Ardglass Golf Club was like a warm, welcoming handshake at the start of our trip! Great views and fantastic food prepared by our hostess Ciara. This was our second stay (the first being in 2019) and has been a highlight of our visits to Ireland and North Ireland. Looking forward to our next stay!

What a special place. Ciara is the most welcoming host. We arrived late and she was up waiting and had my father-in-laws request, a pot of coffee ready. We all slept great and woke up to a lovely breakfast the next morning. Half of the group played golf across the street (love that) while the other half had the day to explore. Ciara gave wonderful suggestions and we enjoyed those too. I just wish I could have returned for some afternoon tea. I've since seen her baked goods and they look amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed staying at Margaret's Cottage. I loved chatting with Ciara and learning about her family and the history related to the area. I need to come back!

Truly enjoyed our one night stay. The owner does a great job to make sure you have a nice stay. We had two rooms and both suited our needs very well and the breakfast was great! I would highly recommend this B&B as a great value and would stay there again without hesitation. There is a great restaurant (Italian) next door and a good Pub a few doors down. So convenient!

Ciara was a fantastic host, friendly and communicative (and a great cook as we got our days started off with breakfast). We had 4 golfers in our group and were the only occupants for our stay. The location across the street from the Ardglass Golf Club couldn't have been any more convenient for us. There was also a very charming family pub practically next door that we spent many of our non-golf hours in. The rooms were clean as could be and we even received a few sweets as a courtesy gift for our golf bags which was a very thoughtful touch. We stayed 2 nights and the whole group agreed we wish it could have been longer, we truly had an amazing experience. We will absolutely be returning at any chance we get! -Wes

We went to Margaret’s Cottage for afternoon tea. The experience was stellar! The property is wonderfully located right next to the golf course in Ardglass. Ciara was an exceptional hostess and made our stay extremely comfortable. The natural fireplace added to the comfort and ambiance on a cool and misty day by the sea. She’s also an excellent chef and a baker. My partner has coeliac and required gluten-free options. Ciara ensured there were fabulous options for my partner to enjoy. The overall experience was wonderful, and made our afternoon in Ardglass memorable. We will return!

We were up to play golf in ardglass and the guesthouse is right at the entrance which was ideal..the accommodation is really clean, spacious and comfortable. To have your breakfast looking out over the course is a treat. The quality of the food was 5 star hotel standard..when we sat on the couches to have a chat after breakfast Ciara brought us more coffee without us asking..a touch of class..we can’t wait to visit again!!
