Church Farm nestles alongside the historic Norman church in the tiny village of Alsop en le Dale, at the head of one of the most beautiful but undiscovered dales in the Peak National Park. Our topsy-turvy cottages were created from an old barn on the farm. They have a wealth of character with high ceilings and and exposed beams, are at the top end of the Tourist Board Scheme and inspected annually. They are situated in the cobbled yard of our Rare Breeds farm and are just the place for your Peak District Derbyshire holiday. Winnets is the larger of the two cottages. There is a downstairs single bedroom, another single bedroom upstairs and a double bedroom that overlooks the courtyard. Pinster has one double bedroom and one single.

Chris and Chris have created two comfortable period cottages on their working farm in a glorious part of the Peak District. We stayed in Pinster, the smaller of the two, and had a wonderful visit. Loads of beautiful walks to do. Chris and Chris were really welcoming and hospitable. We would definitely go again.

Winnet's Cottage was a very well kept cottage. It was warm and comfortable - readily adjusting to the swift changes of temperatures. It was very clean and well cared for. The commitment to caring for the environment was highly commendable. The view across a well ordered and clean farm yard was very restful. It was an ideal base for visiting favourite family places and walking. Our hosts were very welcoming and had clearly taken extra care in this season of Covid-19. It worked very well for us (adult family members). Highly recommend.

We have just returned from Church Farm Cottages feeling relaxed and chilled. The accommodation was warm and cosy with tasteful decor. The location is great, a stone's throw from the Tissington Trail and other public footpaths. We loved the quiet location yet you are only 6 miles from the lovely town of Ashbourne and other tourist hotspots. Would highly recommend and it is nice that dogs are welcome to (Winnats cottage). Hope to return again.

Christine and Chris made us very welcome and the accommodation is excellent. You are well placed to get to the surrounding places of interest and what is more, you can leave your car in the yard and just walk out of the gate into the lovely Peak District.

Church Farm is located in an incredibly picturesque location, close to many of the Peak District's best tourist attractions including Chatsworth House, Carsington Water which provides great options for active travellers including stand-up paddle boarding and windsurfing, also very close by is the scenic Tissington Trail where you can rent a range of bicycles. The cottage itself is perfectly kept with everything you need to hand. We all slept soundly, it was a very relaxing break.

We had a fabulous stay at Church Farm. It was the ideal place to escape to over new year. Christine is a wonderful host and the cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We will definitely be returning in the summer.

Thank you for a fabulous, festive stay. Our group booked both cottages, which were comfortable, spotless, well equipped, plenty of parking and the owners were so accommodating. The location is idyllic, a perfect base to explore the peaks with good walking and eating options - I’d recommend the Christmas mulled cider at the Old Dog! Wish we could have stayed longer so we’ll be back again soon

We stayed in one of the cottages with our 11 month old baby and 2 friends. It consists of a double bedroom with two single rooms plus a open plan kitchen, dining and living room. It is equipped with all the things you might need, plus the Duffell family are always around in the main building if you were to need them. They were welcoming, helpful and lovely to deal with. The cottages are in a beautiful village with lots of walks and great pubs near by.

A fantastic stay at Church Farm. Idyllic surroundings in the gorgeous Derby dales. A short walk across fields to the Tissington Trail. We stayed in the very beautifully refurbished Winnets Cottage and felt very welcome. A perfect short break. Highly recommended!

We've just had a great week in Pinster Cottage. There were flowers in the sitting room, and homemade cake waiting for us, which were lovely touches. Both my friend and I had packed for self-catering cottages and were delighted to find that everything we had brought with us was provided - including a hand blender! There was even an OS map for the White Peak provided! Chris and Christine were wonderful hosts, giving us lots of information about the area and things that were on, but equally giving us lots of space to relax and enjoy ourselves. The cats, dogs and ponies were all quite happy to receive lots of attention and Chris would have taken us to meet the cattle if we'd got round to arranging it! The cottages have recently been refurbished and were really relaxing and comfortable. Alsop en le Dale is perfectly situated for exploring the southern Peak District. You can walk easily from the cottages to get up to the Tissington Trail or over to Dove Dale.
