We came not sure what to expect although we knew it was "rustic." You definitely know you are in the midst of the Amazon- not a place with four washcloths, little shampoos or even windows in the rooms. Food, while not varied, is well prepared - we had white rice, beans and fish each day. While not varied, it was...

This is for the Napo lodge that is part of this group of lodges. If you like the most basic experience with basic accommodations, like shared bathrooms, Showers, Simple rooms, This is the place. Low on comfort but probably having the most activities of all the lodge group. As hot and humid this part of the Amazon is, I like...

I was part of the OAT (Overseas Adventure Travel) group that took the pretrip to the Explorama...I was excited about the rustic description of the Explorama II and I was not disappointed at all. I knew from the start that there would be no hot water and electricity goes out from midnight till 5 a.m. but that was part of...

I did a wilderness adventure, and stayed at Explorama, and Explornapo. deep in the jungle by boat, and NOT for those who need a phone, or AC. this is remote and lovely, the animals are wild, but tame and allow you to interact with them. I was in my heaven while I was here. this is for nature lovers!

We have stayed at all of the Explorama Lodges and have just returned from our 13th visit. My favorite lodge is Explorama. No hot showers don't bother me a bit and I like the total rainforest experience. Fortunately, there are 3 lodges, so if you are not like me, you might prefer the air conditioning, hot water and the pool...

I was part of an Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) group that spent three weeks visiting Peru and Ecuador. We spent two nights at the Explorama Lodge and two night at Ceiba Tops. The Explorama Lodge is place is for people who like or don't mind being extremely uncomfortable in the Amazon. There is nothing charming or rustic about this place....

Explorama has several lodges depending on the experience that you want. They range from rustic with a hike to the shower and facilities to more luxurious with air conditioning and a pool. I personally preferred the more rustic accomodations, (I didnt stay in the lodge with the AC and pool). During our trip we visited a Caymen farm (bought one...

This review is for the Explorama Lodge, not for Ceiba Tops, also part of the Explorama experience. We spent two nights in each place. Explorama is an experience. They supply a guide and program all of your activities during your stay. They so a very good job of it. Our guide, Lucio, was excellent. He stayed with us from picking...

This experience was one that I will treasure forever. All the staff, but especially my guide Lucio, went out of their way to show me all the best that the amazon has to offer. Piraña fishing, countless boat rides (in scorching sun and in the dead of night), the stunning animals, local tribes, shaman and villages and spectacular views made...

Our family group (4 adults and 3 children aged 7-12) spent 8 nights on the Amazon with Explorama: 3 @ Explorama Lodge, 4 @ Ceiba Tops & 1 @ El Dorado Plaza, Iquitos. Absolutely brilliant. Guide (Orlando) could not have been better with the kids. Lots to do. We caught (and later ate) piranas; nursed sloths, held an anaconda, had...
