We had an overnight stay in an en suite room. It had a TV, tea and coffee and was a reasonable size. Unfortunately the bed was so uncomfortable with springs poking through we didn't sleep. Also the shower barely had any water coming out of it. The food however was excellent, both the evening meal and breakfast, as was the...

Went for Sunday lunch with family and had a very pleasant sunday lunch. It doesn't knock your socks off but is good value for money and not too far from the canal so perfect for walkers. We will probably go again.

Popped in on the off chance on a very cold Saturday lunchtime. Received a really warm welcome from the Landlord which is always a good start. Lovely old feel to the pub, log fires burning, old pews from the local church, a really nice setting. We decided to have lunch and it was very pleasant. Ample portions all round and...

Are from the Christmas menu. As a group we were disappointed in the size of the meal. There wasn't much veg, a few carrots, some undercooked parsnips and some frozen sprouts. Using fresh veg would have been a huge improvement. Would have been nice to have the vegetable in a side dish too. The roast pots were absolutely lovely.

My wife and I stayed here while visiting family and when we first arrived was happy with the greeting from the young male member of staff who was polite and friendly, we quickly ordered some food before being shown to our room to put our bags in before going down for dinner. The room was nothing short of filthy and...

Only stayed for one night as in the area on business but very impressed with the warm welcome and efficiency of the service on offer. Room was extremely adequate for my needs and although the furniture was a little dated it was more than comfortable. Only a thin spread over the mattress through which the springs could be felt but...

We booked for two nights as The Somerset Arms were catering for the Wake for my brother's funeral. All staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I'm a coeliac and loved the fantastic gluten-free menu - the best I've ever had! No in-room wifi but available in the bar area

Had the belly pork which was great, very friendly staff and dog friendly as well. Good pint shame about the parrot (or the lack of parrot). Close to the canal so good for a dog walk to work off the lunch.
