Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful experience with Carol and Derek, the owners, who went out of their way to make our stay extra special. Great attention to detail, with the cleanest of rooms and a most excellent breakfast. A very kind couple who care about people. A perfect location to start off our trip up the Cotswold's, in this charming antique home. Thank you again, Jane & Tim

Very welcoming when we arrived! Food was excellent, pleasantly served and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely home-made bread and delicious kippers (my wife thought they were the best she had ever eaten!). Room was lovely, warm and bright and very comfortable with good amenities. Beautiful garden and plenty of parking space. For us visiting Wiltshire for the first time it was an excellent choice. Breakfast is served at a time to suit (within reason!) but great when all guest are together and Derick or Carol join in the conversation. All in all we were absolutely delighted with our choice. It was reasonably priced and extremely comfortable in every way. Couldn't recommend it enough!!!

Lovely place with friendly and helpful hosts. Comfortable room with nice en suite with good facilities. Sadly we were staying for a sad reason, attending funeral nearby. Carol let us stay in the lounge in the morning until time to go there which was very kind. We certainly intend to return in more pleasant circumstances and visit local places of interest.

As soon as we arrived we was made to feel like 1 of the family. The room was spotlessly clean, the garden is huge my children loved exploring and breakfast was delicious. We didn't want to leave can't wait to stay again in the future.

Warm welcome from our hosts despite our unexpected late arrival time. Very spacious ground floor bedroom and well equipped bathroom, ideal for anyone who has some mobility problems. The cooked breakfast was excellent and so filling that we weren’t able to try all of the delicious homemade jams. The dining room was very attractive with a lovely stone flagged floor. Our hosts were very attentive

We were greeted warmly by Derek and Carol, and were in time to enjoy afternoon tea and cake in their lovely garden. The room(2) that was the twin room was spacious with comfortable beds, well furnished with generous storage and the en-suite bathroom was similarly generous in size. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, even for those like us who don't eat a cooked breakfast, though of course Carol was well prepared to cook breakfast to an order given the night before. Though during the night traffic is very light, with the window open, light sleepers may have found traffic noise a little disturbing. We slept like logs!

Nicely located close to Trowbridge and Bath ideal for our needs. Room spacious with good facilities and very clean. Guests have a separate lounge and Derek and Carole were excellent hosts. Breakfasts were very enjoyable and taken in a homely dining room. Outside there are extensive mature gardens with ample space for car parking on site.

Stayed here for a week whilst on a course down the road. Very welcoming and friendly hosts who like to make you feel at home. Room I had was very nice and breakfast was lovely too. The only reason it didn't,t get 5 stars from me was the shower in my room was fed from the bath taps so wasn't,t very powerful but it did the job. Would definitely recommend this place

Stayed at Newhouse Farm as part of a visit to Bath including Christmas Market. Really pleased with our decision to stay here. Very clean and friendly hospitable owners. We decided not to stay in Bath centre but stayed here at Semington and got train from nearby Trowbridge to Bath (15mins). All went like clock work so very pleased! Missed all that hassle of driving in and out of Bath. Definitely recommend Newhouse Farm!
