We have just returned from our week-end at the Black Swan, that we found it as we were following their exceptionally skilled chef Scott Fairweather from his previous place of work, but we enjoyed the entire experience, the place and the staff to the fullest. The Black Swan may not be a 4 star hotel, but is has so much...

Called for lunch at this lovely little hotel. A real delight situated in the Eden Valley in a pretty village 6 miles from the M6 at Tebay. Lovely little bar with garlands of hops strung from the beams. The chef Scott Fairweather turns out some creative and delicious food. First class and friendly. Lovely afternoon and would definately recommend!!

Sadly we only stayed one night at this wonderful place. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and the bath was so welcome after three days on an exercise course ! Dinner and Breakfast were both delicious. I really wanted to take Jack the handsome border terrier home ! Thank you everyone at The Black Swan.

Last Saturday we had guests staying, and starting phoning around for eating places in our area which might have late availability for 4 to dine during the early evening. The Black Swan was our third choice, and an excellent choice it proved to be. We were given a warm welcome on arrival, and all the staff we encountered were efficient...
