Detailed Reviews
We had such a wonderful week in the Farmhouse together. The house had everything we needed and more, particularly appreciated the huge white bath sheets after a refreshing rainfall shower session! Loved the seating on the patio for watching the red squirrels and lambs, it's a bit of a sun trap too, great for chilling out after a walk. Loved having meals together in the beautiful dining room and it was great to have the pantry to keep all the food so the kitchen remained uncluttered. We also loved the downstairs loo, sounds funny, but it's such a great use of the space, and it was always toasty warm!
We did most of our walks from the house, they were varied and we enjoyed every one. The creepy crow wood nearby was also loved by our 7 year old, bouncy branches, good climbing, stream rock hopping, tyre swing, brilliant. If you're reading these reviews before staying, make sure you look out for the fell ponies on local walks, they're so friendly.
Last thing to mention is the absolutely exemplary hosts, so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Would love to return to this peaceful haven one day!

This is the most wonderful place in which to unwind and relax. Wonderful welcome hamper, stunning scenery, lovely walks from the door and a very warm welcome from Debbie and Richard. Shepherd’s Cottage is furnished to an exceptionally high standard and it is in a quiet stunning location. We can’t recommend it highly enough. This was our second stay and we will definitely be back as it is our go to place to rest and recuperate.

The Farmhouse stands at the end of a winding country lane basking in sunshine, its red front door welcoming us in. First impressions are so important and our arrival set the tone for the whole weekend.
The house feels authentic as though the last century hasn’t happened but somehow Debbie and Richard have managed to slip in modern comforts, pristine bathrooms, super showers, 5* quality beds and bedding. A modern kitchen with a huge range style cooker that still feels country chic. Furnishings and decorations were obviously stylishly carried out. Although due to present restrictions no one was able to physically greet us we felt a huge sense of hospitality and welcome from the personal messages before we arrived, during our stay and once home, to the quality of the welcome hamper. Other nice touches included a well stocked honesty bar and availability of things we may have forgotten. Debbie and Richard have given every thought to the enjoyment of their guests.
The sunny courtyard was so inviting we used it extensively despite the time of year. This part of Cumbria really is a hidden gem. Views from the windows and courtyard are simply uplifting. There are several walks right from the front door which are varied and picture book pretty. We happened upon a stone bridge over a rushing stream within minutes of our first walk. Reached a pub across the fields after 15 minutes and walked to the beautiful village of Ravenstonedale. We were blessed with gorgeous autumn sunshine but I’m sure
A Corner of Eden would be the perfect venue for a short break or longer holiday at any time of the year. Now that we’ve found it we definitely intend to visit again.

We stayed in Angel Barn at A Corner of Eden for the second time last weekend and the entire stay from start to finish couldn’t be any more perfect!
The property layout and decor is cosy and stylish and the little touches throughout are thoughtful and really add to the overall luxurious experience. The huge kitchen and table makes for a great socialising space to plan adventures, chat and eat and the cosy lounge is perfect for a cold evening relaxing. The outdoor hot tub has stunning views and made the perfect place to unwind after a brisk walk up wild boar fell (even in the pouring rain!).
The welcome hamper and cake from Katie’s Cakes is delicious and even the dogs are welcome with their own hamper and essentials for their stay!
Debbie & Richard are fantastic hosts and even with a contact free check in provided great local walk recommendations before our trip for both the adventurers in the family and the older generation.
Overall I couldn’t recommend A Corner of Eden more, if you haven’t been you really must, it’s even better than it looks in any photos and is truly the perfect place to unwind! We cannot wait to return soon!

My partner and I stayed in the two person Shepherd’s Cottage with our three dogs. The cottage is every bit as good and well equipped as the reviews and website make out. It was also really warm so we often had the heating off and the windows open. The little touches in the welcome pack and available to buy really make it special.
The site is secure with a cattle grid at the entrance and the secure yard of the cattle grid was perfectly large enough for our three dogs to run around. The surrounding countryside is amazing, we walked up to the clouds with our dog which was an 8k round trip. Take wellies or waterproof boots!
Excellent location to access the Howgills and North Pennines if you fancy a change from the Lakes.
The hosts are incredible, really helpful and friendly but otherwise leave you too it. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Our Honeymoon at Shepherds Cottage, was utterly amazing so much so that we'll definately be booking again!
The cottage itself was my ideal home with added extras, so comfy we felt rested within hours of stepping through the doorway.
Beautiful views, all set in a truly peaceful location, you can walk straight of the door in any direction for a fell walk and if you're lucky you will see red squirrels, fell ponies and plenty of wildlife including a hard working farmer or two, quite literally home from home for us. There's a few pubs within walking distance that serve delicious meals, friendly staff and again set in a location so idilic we didn't want to leave.

We absolutely loved it here, so much so that we booked again for next year as soon as we got home. The views on the drive up to the cottage and all around the cottage are stunning. It's really peaceful and you can't help but relax. The cottage itself was immaculate. (No trace of any dog staying there at all. Although we have a dog we take with us, we keep her clean and don't like staying in places that smell of dog.) It was also very cosy and full of lovely little touches. The toiletries smelt great. The welcome hamper was fantastic- everything in it was delicious. The attention to detail was fabulous such as having the fire in the wood burning stove built ready so we only had to light it, letting us know about a road closure and providing extra directions before we got there. We had everything we needed. Although there were other properties on site, we hardly saw anyone. Great walks from the doorstep as well. One of the best places we have ever stayed.

After several years of trying to book a holiday at A Corner of Eden, we finally managed to co-ordinate dates & get a last minute 4 night stay at Shepherd's Cottage, WOW, did it live up to our expectations. (For the first time in 16 years of booking UK cottages, via loads of sites, the reality totally matched the photos & description on the website, so refreshing!).
Everything is great, very welcoming and comfortable, with lovely hosts, Debbie, Richard & Ned. The Champagne Hamper is fabulous & gives you an excellent & memorable, start to your holiday, with treats, luxuries & practicalities all covered.
The cottage is beautifully decorated, with a really comfortable bed, set in a spacious bedroom with lovely views. The kitchen is very well equipped, lots of crockery, pans, cutlery etc. plus good supplies of coffee & tea and comes complete with a warm & welcoming AGA. The cosy sitting room has really comfy seating and the log burner is an added bonus.
There are walks available from the door and easy road access to The Lakes, Dales & Moors, all of which makes the location spot on. We had a couple of lovely meals at The Fat Lamb Inn, (a short walk across the fields or 5 mins in the car away), such a great Pub, with everyone happy to see you and your four-legged friend. We also visited The King's Head in Ravenstonedale for a mid-walk lunch with family, lovely setting by the river and very tasty pies, again, we were all made to feel really welcome. It's a great area with loads to do and see, plus the standard of accommodation, tranquility and welcome you receive at A Corner of Eden is second to none! We will be back!!

Fantastic in every way. I almost don’t want to write this review as it was so good I would like to keep it for ourselves!
The Angel barn was the perfect venue for our family Christmas. It was extremely comfortable from the underfloor heating and log burner to keep us cosy, to the comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms, all beautifully decorated. Debbie and Richard could not have done more to make our stay memorable. When we arrived the fire was lit to welcome us and Debbie had taken care of the delivery of our Christmas goose. The welcome hamper was full of delicious food and Champagne and included local produce and a fantastic carrot cake. Even Poppy the dog had special treats. We really didn’t want for anything. It was a joy not to think about dishwasher tablets and bin bags as all provided.
The position of the barn was fabulous and well placed for walks and close to several villages with good pub grub and shops.
We are already booked to return.
I would highly recommend

We had a fantastic stay at The Farmhouse at A Corner of Eden. The Farmhouse was superb and Debbie and Richard had thought of everything even a welcome hamper for our four dogs. The welcome hamper was fantastic and the food sourced locally we went and purchased more of as we enjoyed it so much.
I would recommend a stay here.
