We stayed in the farmhouse for 3 nights as a last minute extension to our holiday. We have stayed in both the other cottages and this did not disappoint. Wow. Beautifully restored and so homely with a touch of class throughout. Didn’t want to come home. Loved sitting in the garden with a coffee, a slice of the gorgeous homemade cake and the papers and only the sound of the sheep and birds (oh and sometimes Saxby one of our bundles of four legged cuteness). The boys loved it and their hamper and hubby went to the top of a hill and he said it was amazing at the top. Cannot wait to stay at new year, fab hosts, fab location. This to us is one of our homes now if only for a short period at a time. If you haven’t been make that booking now you won’t be disappointed.

We had a fantastic time in the farmhouse and really appreciated the details added by Debbie and Richard from the walks and recommendations of the local area to the plethora of kitchen equipment. Such a relaxing stay and we’ll definitely be back in the future.

We were a group of six people in our fifties (or thereabouts!) who, after lockdown delays, finally made it to this particular corner of Eden. It was worth the wait! We stayed four nights and had the most wonderful time. Debbie and Richard have put a great deal of thought into Angel Barn, and it felt like a really luxurious place to chill out with friends or family. The views are amazing, the experience of sipping champagne whilst soaking in the hot tub under the stars, with just the sounds of nature around you, felt really decadent! We went walking locally, sampled most of the local pubs and restaurants, and also went to Ullswater for the day (recommended!). A fantastic place, worth paying that bit extra for.

Beautiful family stay in the Farmhouse. Perfect setting for a relaxing break in a farmhouse full of original features and character. There is everything that you need snd more. Loved the log burner and open fires. Upon arrival, the house was perfectly clean and well presented, including a champagne welcome basket and birthday cake with candles 😊. Superb views across the fields filled with sheep and lambs, across to the hills.

We've just returned from a 4 night stay at the Farmhouse. Beautiful location, warm welcome and left to our own devices. The house itself is so sympathetically restored, leaving original features in place that may seem a bit rickety, but telling their own story of centuries past. Beautiful location. the Hailstones, snow, wind and rain didnt spoil our stay at all. thanks you both very much

The farmhouse is a wonderful , charming and well-equipped house. It is decorated and furnished to a level not often seen in holiday-rental properties. It is conveniently situated in a lovely part of Cumbria ,close by is the quintessential village of Ravenstonedale. I have been staying there, with friends since 2014 and have frequented the house on many occasion's since. It is so charming and relaxing and I would defiantly recommend it to anyone.

We were very lucky to spend 4 nights in Shepherd's Cottage during a glorious spell of January weather, cold and clear. The cottage is a delight, welcoming and warm, superbly equipped with everything you could possibly think of and a few things that you wouldn't have thought of too. We've booked our return already.

Would not hesitate to book again! Nice and remote, as Christmassy as a Wham video, as adventuresome as Withnail & I. Excellent from start to finish. Some extra miles were went in creating that Christmas ambience we all romanticise. And the location is stunning.

As soon as we entered the shepherds cottage we felt a real sense of 'home from home.' Everything has been so carefully thought out, to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It really was superb in every way, from start to finish. The hosts have worked hard in renovating these beautiful cottages and it shows. The quality of materials used and the little personal touches gave it the wow factor. There was even the addition of a beautiful christmas tree, which had been lovingly decorated for us to enjoy. We wouldn't hesitate in returning or recommending a stay to our family or friends, a real find. I wish it was ours!!

Stayed in the Farmhouse with friends for four nights from 8th November. Loved everything about our stay. Spacious cosy house in quiet but not too isolated setting. Many nice touches around the house which just made our stay all the more special. Debbie and Richard were great hosts, hope to stay again sometime.
