Newly opened in January 2018, The Bristol Wing was built in the refurbished Grade II listed old police headquarters in the heart of Bristol City Centre. We have a mix of private, ensuite and dorm rooms with great communal spaces on the ground floor and an award winning cafe on site offering tasty breakfast, great coffee and a super fresh lunch menu. Our ethical and environmental credentials are second to none. We have a newly refurbed building designed to minimise our negative impact on the world (solar panels, high levels of insulation, double glazed windows etc). All of our food is sourced locally and we offer opportunities for young people to gain valuable work skills and experience. The Bristol Wing is owned and managed by YMCA Bristol as a social enterprise - so any profits we make are reinvested in supporting young people who are homeless in the city.

Awesome hostel with good rates, facilities & awesome staff especially Mark who went above and beyond to sort me a room after a booking cock-up! Up and down the stairs with me four times until eventually he found me a 3 bed room all to myself- at no extra charge! Thanks again!

I’d just like to say a massive thank Lara and the staff at the Bristol Wing. We brought a big group of Europeans to Bristol for the first time- and they all remarked on how welcome they were made them feel. They really went the extra mile and were helpful from start to finish. Will definitely book again

Very clean, bright, contemporary renovated but in keeping boutique hostel with incredibly friendly, helpful and professional staff. Big hats off for the way legend Mark and Megan for the way they handled a very unsavoury, obnoxious and rude guest in a very professional manner where all spectating guests wanted to tell him to get stuffed and leave. After travelling around the world and staying in many a hostel this is one has been the best so far. Much to do with the staff as well as the lovely facilities. Well done team Wing! Love ya work!

Didn't book in advance which was probably naive. Was greeted by a friendly and quite adorable face who found me a nice room, got the key card to the room in minutes, and with a reassuring and charming smile. Cheap, clean and characterfull accommodation. My only regret is that I wasn't 20 years younger, and could have tried the old silver tongue on the receptionist! This place, and the YMCA in general is gold. (As is the girl on the front desk tonight 😊 ). Top marks.

Made a booking through Hostel World but got my dates wrong and ended up booking a room for the next night. Realised in the morning and phoned and emailed them straight away. They still charged me full price for the room despite me not staying there, even though I booked for the correct dates when i phoned them. I understand they have a late cancellation policy but I booked within the late cancellation time and phoned them as soon as I realised. Being £100 down leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
