I stated here for business for two nights and have to say it was average at best. One out of three lifts worked and the wait to get up and ( my room was in the sixth floor) was ridiculous. Breakfast was great, hard to get wrong in a hotel, but our working lunch provided for 45

Dear J G, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at the Bristol Marriott City Centre. Unfortunately, in regards to the lift there was a mechanical failure which resulted in the hotel unable to safely operate the lifts for its guests. I apologise about the long delay waiting for the lift which resulted in you using the stairs. Please be assured we were working on this as quick as possible to resolve this issue. We were hoping a new part would help resolve the issue, but completely honestly it is not going to be as quick of a fix as we thought, it is looking like we need a whole new lift system that needs to be designed for the hotel, which we are unable to put a timeframe on at the moment but could result being down to the one lift for a few months, which I completely understand is not ideal. I am sorry to read that you did not fully enjoy the lunch provided with the meeting you attended and I can assure you I have passed on your comments to our events team to make sure our menu can satisfy all our guests' needs and preferences. On another hand, I am very pleased to read that you enjoyed your breakfast with us and took advantage of our leisure facilities on property. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you again here soon at the Bristol Marriott City Centre. Best regards, Sophie

Stayed on business on Friday night. Very tired look and feel to the hotel. Rooms are adequate but have shower curtains and look dated. The restaurant "the grill" looked somber and depressing so we ate out. Only one of the three lifts is working, it appears to have been this way

My husband and I were here for a work party, I can't drink alcohol due to a medical condition and I have trouble with stairs, so to be told that if I wanted a soft drink then I would have to fetch it myself from the upstairs bar and pay £3 a glass for a cola when the Alcohol was

Dear MrsBaird, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay with us at the Bristol Marriott City Centre. I apologise your requirements were not met while attending a party with us and were not told we have a lift that goes straight to the bar. I have surely passed on your comments to our Conference and Banqueting team to make sure we can accommodate all of our guests' needs during an event with us. Our restaurant is closed on Sundays indeed, however we do offer the restaurant menu in the bar as well - I apologise if this was not mentioned to you on check in or throughout your stay. You’re a valued customer; everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent hotel experience. We would like to regain your trust and hope to serve you again in the future. If I may be of assistance or if you have additional feedback you would be willing to share, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Best regards, Sophie Babut sophie.babut@marriotthotels.com

Theoretically, one can walk from the station to the hotel. We have done it before. But there is a lot of building work going on and roads and roundabouts being updated. This seems to go on forever. We took a taxi this last time and were glad that we did. It was much easier, and not far. It's easy to get to Cardiff. We have never been there, so can't recommend, but people do like it. At the hotel, ask for a room as high as possible. That'll get you further away from the traffic. The views from higher floors across the park and the city are great - but you need to ask for a room at the front for this. From the park there is a ferry stop at the river. It's a great way to get down to the city centre and to see the SS Great Britain. If you google Bristol Ferry Boats you can download timetables - this is really worth doing. Have a great holiday.
