This accommodation was recommended by our friend living in Bristol lots of years. It was absolutely perfect, A little crazy :D but it does not matter. It was cheaper in comparison with standard hotel in Bristol. Services were perfect. Madam Toad was very kind to us. Breakfast was typical English. During our stay, it was cold in Bristol. It was...

If a toad themed guest house with '70s/ '80s décor is your idea of fun this is the place for you! Madam Toad and her assistant are also very friendly, the place is clean and the breakfasts good. There is also a beautiful garden at the back. Of course this genuine level of eccentricity is not for everyone hence some...

The guest house is strange but rooms are clean and cheap. Madame toad is a very elderly lady who can be very abrupt on the phone but nice enough when you arrive. Breakfast is fine. The beds are more like camp beds with very thin mattresses but I have to say that I slept okay. The reason I have only...

Toad Lodge is gloriously different from the average B&B! It is an elegant huge house high on a hill, and we had super views of Bristol from our spacious bedroom which was at the back of the house and overlooked the garden. The interior is very much that of a large family home, with photos of cats and horses hanging...

Smelt somewhat too much of cats and being allergic to pet hairs etc doesn't help. Therefore had to reluctantly go to another place to spend the night. The price was very competitive and the landlady "Madam Toad" was an interesting character.

Toad Lodge is set in the lovely area of Cotham, a ten minute pleasant walk to the Harbourside or central Bristol. It's important to note before I go on that if you are looking for a sterile (everything in its place) chain type hotel accommodation this is definately not for you. The rooms are large, the decor is unusual, the...

Stayed for three nights with my Husband and Sons. Rooms were lovely. Decor is homely. Breakfast was delicious. The garden is beautiful and the great weather enabled us to enjoy the garden in the evening. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Xx

The place was a lot bigger than my partner and i expected. We were greeted by a lovely older woman who was very helpful and polite. We ordered a double room but ended up with a bedroom with 3 single beds(that was not a problem as we understand that this happens sometimes) We had a comfortable stay- it was always...

We booked to stay here well in advance, but the day before we traveled to Bristol, we go a phone call from the owner saying she was cancelling our booking as she had overbooked. I find this rude and unacceptable, and it was particularly irritating when our friends, who did stay there that weekend, told us that she had said...
