Mollie's Motel & Diner in Bristol garners positive attention for its stylish ambiance, complete with modern amenities like Dyson hairdryers and GHD straighteners, which complement the hotel's clean and comfortable rooms. While service at the hotel is generally applauded for being attentive and friendly, there are occasional remarks about slower and less professional service. The location is a hit among guests for its convenience to shopping and ease of access to local attractions. However, opinions on value are divided, with some guests feeling the pricing is not fully justified.

We chose to book a twin room at Mollie's Motel after a short notice change of travel plans and because all of the 'budget' alternatives were expensive by comparison. From the moment we arrived, in pouring rain, we didn't regret it. The gent at check-in was friendly and welcoming, and we were swiftly in our room, which was clean, comfortable and warm.

During the evening, there were some boisterous children in the corridor, and we feared that it might noisy overnight but neither of us heard a thing. In fact, we slept tremendously well: comfortable mattress and pillows; quiet heating/air con; no noise from either without or within. The shower was one of the best we've had in this type of accommodation, and the toiletries were nice. I had read when booking that the hairdryer was a Dyson, so I left mine at home and brought just my own nozzle that suits my hair type.

We had a fairly early breakfast in the diner next door. Meals for me can be tricky: by choice I don't eat meat but on medical grounds I can't eat gluten or yeasts. I was able to have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, substituting a hash brown for the sourdough toast. In my experience, hash browns can be hit and miss; Mollie's were superb – not in the least oily, packed with flavour and an unusual shape! My husband had a traditional breakfast and reported that every element was hot and tasty. Service was quick, our waiter was personable, and they have a document that lists the allergens of every menu item.

We had a delightful stay and, based on our experience, wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place. Maybe one day we'll get to eat more than just breakfast in the diner.
10/10. Five stars.

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. Firstly don’t be put off by its proximity to the M5, I didn’t hear a thing and my room faced it. And don’t be put off by the name motel, it’s a proper hotel. It’s also not in the league of say the nearby Premier Inn you can see from Mollie’s, this is way better!

The staff were exceptionally friendly, I loved the reception with its seating areas indoors and out, self checkin although I was checked in by a team member, and how the reception was a multipurpose space as a little general store selling the products from the rooms, a 24 hour bar and a 24 hour hot drinks station.

The room was a decent size and I loved the decor, and the split bathroom with the sink in the entrance area and the shower/loo in a separate room. The shower was powerful, instantly hot and I liked the Cowshed products.

There are tea and coffee (coffe bag) kits in the room but no kettle; instead there’s a tap in the hallway outside the room that does instant near boiling water and also chilled water. Thought this was a brilliant idea.

Eat for dinner in the diner, I thought when it came to playful and fun service but still professional for casual dining then these folks have nailed it. The restaurant was designed like a retro diner but far more contemporary furnishings. The Camembert has browns were a dinner highlight and the avocado, poached eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast as gorgeous.

Everything is branded, the beds are made extremely comfortable, you wouldn’t think this is a burgeoning chain rather an established operation who has it nailed.

It’s a relatively new hotel and I would certainly recommend it - perhaps one of the top five hotel experiences I’ve had, if not the top.

I’ve stayed at the Oxfordshire hotel numerous times and been here once before. I think Premier Inn could learn a lot…..

The Bristol hotel is located near a Premier Inn and a Travelodge, and right by the M5 and Cribbs Causeway area. The competition is there but the quality of this hotel is a notch above others at-a similar price point.

The rooms are stylish and feature very very good rainforest showers, thick towels, a dyson hairdryer and hair straighteners. The bedding is lovely. It’s quirky in that the basin is outside of the bathroom area, but it all makes sense. There are quality coffee and tea bags. Hot water and cooled water are available at communal points on the corridor outside. I have a flask to use. There is an armchair, small table and chair in the room. The lounge area downstairs has a small bar/ shop and there is tea and coffee available. Note - no lifts. Outside there are electric charging points for cars and available too….though given the busy road it’s a brave soul who might use them.

The Bristol hotel is usually a little bit dearer than the Oxfordshire hotel, but it is a very good place to stay if you’re breaking up a journey, shopping in Bristol or visiting the area generally. I understand there is a new hotel opening in Manchester but there have been delays in opening that one.

I have a fondness for Mollies Motel, having visited several times, including their Oxford location. However, I've noticed a gradual decline in standards alongside rising prices, coupled with a feature I truly dislike in a hotel room: centrally controlled heating and cooling.

The booking process was smooth, and I appreciated the excellent EV charging options at £15 for overnight use (up from £10, but still reasonable). Check-in was also efficient, with the convenience of receiving your key on your phone, eliminating the need for an extra keycard. The motel itself looks fantastic, and the room was quite nice.

However, the centralised temperature control is a major drawback for me. I understand that managing heating and cooling can be costly, but I prefer to have control over the room temperature for my comfort. During my last stay, the thermostat was set to 19°C, which felt too chilly given the weather. I woke up feeling cold, although I did enjoy the wonderful hot rain shower to warm up.

I also dined at the restaurant, which I typically enjoy during my visits. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that portion sizes seem to be shrinking while prices continue to rise. While the food quality remains good, expect to spend around £22 per person for a burger meal with fries and a drink. Additionally, they automatically add a 10% gratuity to the bill, which I find unnecessary. In the UK, gratuity isn't standard practice, and servers are paid a fair minimum wage that continues to improve. I believe it would be more customer-friendly to remove this automatic tip and provide better value to patrons.

I have stayed at the original Mollies multiple times since its opening. This is the 2nd such venue and am delighted to say that it maintains the highest level of hospitality and ethos of the original concept.

Located in a mainly industrial area of Bristol it’s extremely convenient for motorway access

There is plenty of excellent parking and multiple electric charging points

The hotel offers the excellent clean , crisp and extremely comfortable rooms with complete blackout and silence with air conditioning and crisp bed linen and extremely comfortable beds

The toiletries are for the parent company excellent Cowshed range

The rooms are spotless and have some excellent features such as being to be able to control all lights from your bed and charge phones and IT within easy reach

Immediately adjacent to the motel is the faultless Mollies Dinner . This offers the opportunity to dine on diner menus such as burger, steaks and salads and offer everything to the highest quality.

Mollies offers cost effective accommodation and dinning hospitality and dinning to the most amazing standards

As a constant traveler and ex mystery guest I am proud to award a rare and valuable 5* review

Roll on the expansion of the group we you have won the support of a loyal and dedicated group of customers

We stayed here twice, and will stay again. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is lots of parking and comfortable, well decorated modern communal spaces.
I would advise booking a ground floor room if you have lots of luggage or don't fancy a flight of stairs or 2 as there is no lift.
Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed, I liked that the vanity is in the room separate from the bathroom (shower and toilet). On entering the light switches are on the right hand side and are not illuminated in any way and are difficult to distinguish as they are all in a dark brushed brass colour, also difficult at night and could do with some type of guide light. There are some hair curlers and dryer which we did not use or ever would. The bathroom is a shower and toilet and there is space above the toilet to put clothes put a hook would be better.
The beds are very comfortable and the curtains once drawn are nicely black out any light. I like the wood flooring it is so much cleaner than carpet. There is a small wardrobe, it would be more convenient to have a couple of hooks for coats.
We did not get a reminder to book breakfast on the first stay so were disappointed not to have space. On our second stay we had booked breakfast and while waiting to be seated other hotel guests were turned away which is annoying. Maybe a coffee and continental type grab and go breakfast could be provided, maybe offer collection from recption? As breakfast is not included in the rate it is disappointing, maybe a 10% discount for motel guests? The breakfast was good but not great, the portion sizes are very small and the price of the hotel room compared to a good B&B makes Mollies look very expensive, especially in the weekend.
We enjoyed the hot and cool filtered water provided both in the reception area and in each floor, however it does mean a dash out in your pj's for your morning cuppa. 2 luggage holders for small wheeled luggage would be helpful as otherwise you find yourself putting your luggage on the nice chairs provided and then you cannot sit at the table provided. Overall we like Mollies and would stay again. The young man at the desk was very helpful on a couple of occasions and we appreciated his assistance.

Amazing stay! We found this by chance as we were travelling down to spend a weekend in Bath to do the Xmas markets. We decided to stay here as it looked nice and it seemed good value for the 2 nights and was not far to get into bath. We are so glad we did! They have it down to a T, the decor is modern and stylish, the reception is small but has a 24/hr bar with free tea and coffee and board games and the diner is fabulous! Location is good in Bristol too - just off the motorway but very close to shopping, restaurants and activities.

We booked the diner last minute on the drive down and we are glad we did as for a Friday night I had never seen a place busier! It is very popular with non-hotel guests too and I can see why! We had to wait around an extra 30 mins for our table after booking but the host apologised this and said they would be taking 50% off the bill as a goodwill gesture which I was took back about but thanked her. Food was fast and delicious. Cocktails were great too! Our waiter was great and made sure we had everything we needed and even chatted to us when we paid our bill about our stay and recommendations of what to do in Bath/Bristol.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfy with a big soft duvet! TV had lots of channels on and shower was great with nice hot water. Dyson hairdryer and straighteners were a great added touch. Hot and cold filter water stations were dotted about on the hallways to save environmentally which we didn’t mind going to get - I liked it better personally as you don’t get cold water fresh in many hotels anymore.

Wish there were more Mollies Motels as we would like to visit again. We hear there is one opening soon in Manchester which is a lot closer to us so we will be taking a trip there when it opens! Thank you for a lovely stay and keep doing what you’re doing!

I have stayed at Mollies many times as it is convenient with work & I can charge my car there overnight.
The beds are lovely and comfortable with nice pillows and bedding. The toiletries are all Cowshed and extra touches like having Dyson hair dryers and straighteners in the room are a plus. The rooms are a good size and tastefully decorated as is the reception / bar. I like the fact I can lounge comfortably downstairs with a good selection of interesting books and there is also games if thats your thing. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and the Diner offers a good brekky! Whats not to like about a night or 2 at Mollies.

The attention to detail, comfort, friendly service and great food all contribute to make this a wonderful place to stay. It's convenient to break your journey to Devon and Cornwall or to enjoy all that Bristol has to offer. The bed was comfortable and I loved the fact that Dyson and GHD hair stylers had been placed close to a mirror with adequate lighting, unusual in most hotels. The shower was good and the Cowshed products nice to use as well as sustainable. The Diner served well presented and delicious American style food and the service was great. We'd recommend both the motel and diner.

Very nice, modern and beautifully decorated room, the shower and bed were both lovely. Very good Attention to detail with little things like having Dyson hair dryer and GHD straighteners in the room and mollies own brand of coffee.
Only tiny negative was the boiling hot water tap bring shared and in the corridor meaning you have to get fully dressed to make a coffee/tea. However this was redeemed by the fact there is unlimited coffee and tea in the lobby.
We also had breakfast at the dinner which was super yummy and the staff were friendly and polite. 🙂
