Staff very friendly and welcoming. Pre dinner cocktail was a very expensive glass of ice and they had run out of nibbles! On being seated at our table, I had to ask for the bread basket as they had forgotten, and it was italian bread rather than french! We were not given the wine menu and at no point were...

We enjoyed an excellent midweek lunch from a varied and unusual menu in the Bistro. Two courses were quite enough without the need for side dishes. The decor and cuisine are French, but the restaurant is part of the historic Grade Two listed, eighteenth century "The Sugar House", cited right in the centre of the city and convenient for concerts...

Wanted to go here for ages so we went for afternoon tea for valentines. Well it's brilliant that they serve afternoon tea as late as 6 so we could go after hubby finished work. We were booked for 6 but due to an accident we were 30 minutes late and they still served us. The staff were brilliant really smiley...

We've loved this hotel since our first visit, well over 10yrs ago (smoking a cigar at the snooker table - that's how long ago !). Our visit at the weekend was good, but not quite 'great'. The room was fabulous as usual. My wife loves the luxurious robes and the free standing bath. I love the huge powerful shower. The...

What a funky place to stay! Room was beautiful with a vast bathroom. We ate at the Bistro in the evening and had a fab meal. Staff were very polite and courteous. A great palace to stay, quiet, and terrific décor. Its within walking distance of theatres too which is a bonus. Definitely go again!

Sandwiched between some modern high rise buildings off a main thoroughfare in a very central location, close to the bus station, theatre land and a short walk to either the regenerated harbourside or main city centre shopping areas. Unremarkable from the outside but charming old building entered via a small open courtyard with outside seating. The inside is unmistakably Du...

We haven't been here for over a year and without doubt it was not as good as our previous visits. We had dinner with friends on a week night. The restaurant was so dark we had to use the torches on our phones to read the menu, mood lighting gone mad! The food and service was excellent though although very...

Went for thier sunday lunch with a few friends and the service was wonderful. You will definatly not leave with an empty stomach but instead wont be able to have dinner for being too full. A great place for friends/family gathering. And the food was great too

We've stayed in many of the Hotel du Vins and in some ways this the fåvourite one for us. The main drawback is the lack of hotel parking places, and it adds to the cost of a stay to have to pay for parking The reception is impressive and the staff welcome was nice. We had opted for a superior room...
