Abbeyfield guest house This is probably the worst b&b I have ever stayed in, £50 per night for basically a disgusting hole, we were met at the house by the owner who couldn't wait to take our money & get out of the door, the decor is old & unkept, there is a filthy kitchen area that I wouldn't use,...

Have never slept in a more comfortable bed! Rarely have we had such a good night's sleep while traveling. The room was also comfortable, clean a quiet. The breakfast was delicious and filling, we didn't need much lunch. Liked being able to make our own fresh, hot toast, as much as we wanted. The hostess is very friendly, helpful and...

First of all, when i arrived (8pm) the reception was closed, at least thats what the notice said, there was no reception inside, I called the owner and had to wait for 5 minutes under the door before he arrived. Ok, so what did £50 get me? A room with spider webs above the bed, torn-up curtains, ants on the...

First off, it seems like only morons have taken the time to leave a review for the Abbeyfield, I've stayed here a few times now with family and friends, and I'm going to point out why I think it's so great. Firstly, there's the price. It's great value for what is essentially a really high end hostel. Cheap and comfortable...

We booked this place for two nights. The guy who runs it seems to be a nice man. For £30 per night per person in a two bed room we didn't expect too much. The room was okay, but the shared bathroom seemed not really clean. The floor around the toilet (in an extra room) was always "wet"... I have...

This guesthouse is absolutely disgusting. It is riddled with damp. The reviews are poor but any person with a general knowledge of health will know that you do not expect it to be hazardous to health. The owner George was repugnant, claimed that there was nothing wrong with the guesthouse, even though it reeks of damp. George then slammed the...

My stay at abbeyfield guest house was not good. For the price I don't mind that it's not pretty, nor that a lot is broken or that the bathroom is shared. What I do mind is the cleanliness. The bathroom was terribly dirty (may be due to other guests, but it shows what they think about the house as well),...

We got there a little later than expected due to major road works on A14 so when we did reach there was nobody to let us in our room however one of the guests who was having a fag at the main entrance told us if we picked up the telephone and dialled number above somebody would let us in....

Myself and a few friends stayed here on a Saturday in November. I booked this two months prior and I had a call from the owner confirming all of the details and the process. He was very helpful and answered all of my questions. We were staying following a stag do and returned in the early hours of the morning....
