I stayed here with a friend over the weekend and had a nice relaxing stay. The staff are friendly the atmosphere relaxing. Its a basic guest house with clean rooms and bathrooms. While they dont do breakfasts they do provide cerial bread butter jam etc to make your own breakfast. Its a basic guest house but reasonably priced.

Booking.com double booked the room and we were cancelled by the website. The manager was incredible, he found us another B&B, and escorted us there, even when the traffic delayed us. We did not stay at the Lantern however if they way we were treated is anything to go by it will be a warm welcome.

I booked it for a two nights during the July airshow, as the hotel I usually stay before and during the show had no rooms for the airshow weekend. So, I had to change my accomodation and arrived to Lantern House about 11 PM on Saturday just after the show. Lantern House is very easy to find, especially because I...

Cosy, cheap and clean clean clean! My first experience in a guesthouse and after the Lantern House in Cambridge, many more to come. Our double room with twin beds is essentially spacious and bright. There is a bus-stop nearby that takes you down to the centre in less than 10 minutes. It is surrounded by pubs and cafés. There is...

Have nothing but praise for this budget B&B in a city where prices for weekend stays have gone through the roof in recent months. I come to Cambridge most weekends to play cricket, and all I need is a bed really. Sean the owner doesnt live on site, but maintains good contact by email and phone. Pass code entry by...

We booked for 2 nights and had a problem trying to check in, at our pre-arranged time, as the building doesn't have a reception and we had to phone. We waited over an hour and we were asked to phone back, which we did seven times and they would not answer their phone. We had booked a double room as...

This is a house that's been divided up into many bedrooms with a small shared lounge area with a sink, some dishes, electric kettle & microwave. This is not a B&B. We rented it after another place we had fell through at the last moment, primarily for its location. It's close to the Cam river, so walking/running along the river...

The only reason for not 5 star from me is because no breakfast provided. But to be fair the staff suggested me to have breakfast in the cafe nearby which start to serve breakfast at 07.30 am and cost just over 2 GBP. They used to do breakfast but gave up because many guests who prefer not to have breakfast...

I was visiting Cambridge for 2 nights as part of a mini tour of the UK. This Guesthouse was the most affordable room I could find 3 weeks before my trip. It’s a reasonable distance from the train station but only about £6 in a taxi. The next morning was able to walk into the city centre in less than...

room 8 in the attic is nothing like the picture, the walls are dirty with nails sticking out and you could grow mushrooms in the dirt under the bed, one bed is one half of old bunk beds and the other is like sleeping on concrete.the shared bathroom was disgusting, the shower was filthy and looked like it had not...
