I've been just in the restaurant with a couple of friends and the experience was really good. It is an amazing place with great views and great service. We were very well served by Valter Santos. I hardly recommend it! I'm looking forward to come back again.

This is a boutique hotel with a high standard of decor, service and quirkiness befitting it's location. Literally on the edge of the main attractions and town, it was in a quiet location with a roof top bar that gave great views over Cambridge combined with an excellent drinks menu. The service was excellent, professional, friendly and helpful (even down...

just back from a night at The Varsity. Health club and spa are superb, the location is second to none, good for all the sites. On the doorstep are all the shops and bars. Weather was good so went up to the roof terrace and sat there all day. Very busy at one stage and staff struggled a bit. Bit scary...

If you want a great location, and location is everything in Cambridge, then this is it. Next to Magdalene bridge, so everything that is interesting is an easy walk. If you bring a car, parking is impossible in the city, so the hotel mystically takes it away, and brings it back whenever you ask Rooms are great: its an independent...

Stayed at the varsity on Friday evening, for a night away in cambridge with a friend. Booked on the day, and the receptionist was very helpful. Arrived at the hotel at 8pm, we had a complimentary room upgrade, which is always nice. And again, the receptionist was more than helpful. Our room was large, clean, and very stylish. We booked...

We stayed for one night on 22nd April whilst visiting Midsummer House Restaurant. The hotel was chosen as a special treat after reading lots of very good reviews and we decided to book a Senior Fellows Superior room which was described as spacious, with a balcony with views of the River Cam and the rate was £345 including breakfast. Parking...

Good staff, lovely room and good location but a crying baby kept us awake. That ruined what would have been a 5 star stay. Breakfast was good but not amazing. tHe restaurant Six was ok but not avery imaginative menu really.

Caveat - I haven't actually stayed at the hotel, just up to the terrace for drinks. But what an amazing view! The drinks were quite spectacular too. Pricey, but you pay for the atmosphere really. Great photo op.

My husband and I stayed at the Varsity Hotel for one night whilst travelling through the area and were not disappointed. We chose the hotel due to its proximity to the city centre. The room was not huge, but the bed was marvellous - so comfy and I had a great night's sleep. The bathroom was also marvellous, so well...

The Varsity has all the potential to be a really nice little hotel, but just misses the mark. The front of house staff are welcoming and efficient, but things begin to fall short thereafter. Avoid at all costs the rooms on the 5th floor. Once the bar closes (on the 6th floor) the noise from clear up is terrible. Especially...
