Stayed here for 1 night on friday so we could do some shopping on Saturday. It was really easy and simple to check in with plenty of safety measures in place- hand sanitizer, hazard tapes to keep a 2 metre distance at reception and screening in place. Cannot remember her name but the receptionist was lovely, very polite and helped us with any concerns we had. She also gave us some good recommendations for shops and food places near by and helped us book a taxi as I did not want to drive around (not a confident driver in big cities). The room was very nice and clean, well presented and comfortable. I never understand the negative comments about travelodge rooms being bland. Yes they are a budget hotel so don't expect 5* rooms, but you get a shower and facilities which are very clean, tea and coffee, a kettle, hairdryer and a tv.

The hotel is in the middle of a housing estate with a small Tesco's, barbers and pizza hut just round the corner (2 min walk). Pizza hut also deliver straight to the hotel as well which was helpful. The hotel does look out onto the dual carriageway so if you want a nice view there isn't one. However, surprisingly we didn't actually hear much noise from the busy road, even with the windows open.

Only downsides were the fact the room was quite warm when we arrived so if you're staying on a hot day, bring a fan as there is no air conditioning. Luckily we bought a fan with us so the room was fine in the end. The restaurant/bar is still closed which we were not aware of. Our original plan was to eat dinner and have a few drinks there so in the end we had to buy a couple of drinks from the local Tesco's and order a pizza hut. If you want to eat and drink out you will need to order a taxi or hop on a bus. They do provide breakfast if you want it but its very overpriced for what it is- £5 something for 3 items. I think it was porridge/cereal, a drink and another little snack, so we chose to go without.

Nice location though. Quiet area but not too far from the city centre. We chose to take a taxi which cost £9.80 from the hotel to the grand arcade shopping centre.

All in all, a really good place to stay if you want to be close to shops but far enough to not hear the hustle and bustle of city life. Just a shame the restaurant and bar area is still closed.

We stay at this Travelodge on a regular basis when visiting family in Cambridge and have without fail received a warm welcome. This one is convenient for Cambridge city, it is walkable (a fair distance), on a bus route and a reasonable taxi fare. We use Travelodge because they are dog friendly which suits us and our rooms have always been clean and warm. There is always tea and coffee in the room and a chocolate bar machine at reception when in need of a late night snack! Always good value for money.

This weekend, I was on a business trip, from Mumbai to Cambridge. I and my overweight Chinese associate stayed in one of the great new twin rooms! the beds were rather large, thank god! Though it should be noted that poor acoustics in the room led to unbearable snoring from my closeted companion, which, delightfully, did not manage to drown out the surprisingly good quality of sound from the TV's.

The place was very COVID friendly, with hand sanitisers at 3 stations, and although masks are mandatory, some guests chose to ignore, including my associate (figures).

Reception staff were very polite and informative, especially one large toothed maintenance worker, who's name i must have missed, however he managed to fix my colleague's broken wheel on his bed... which unfortunately snapped off immediately after he sat on it.

One lovely polish woman...Justin i think? who rarely smiled, was very polite and forthcoming during my stay, and helped me whenever i needed it, giving me extra tea, coffees, sugar and towels, which for my colleague, was very necessary, as i feel as though it would take less towels to clean the entire floor than it would his bottom.

Unfortunately, there was no food or drink available to purchase during this stay due to COVID restrictions (thank god for one of us) though this was made far more acceptable when accounting for the well stocked vending machine (which a rather sweet toothed colleague spent most his per diem on)

If i ever stay here during a trip from Mumbai again in the future, I shall most likely stay here (though, for the sake of a better stay, i will probably come alone)

This was not the finest of stays that I have experienced at a Travelodge and I certainly will not be returning given my experiences.

The main problem I experienced was the disdain and rudeness that I, and other guests, were treated to by the management team, not the reception or housekeeping staff who were excellent, but by the management team who seemed unable to accept criticism or complaint and dealt with issues with abject discourtesy and arrogance.

Nothing was the fault of the management team at the hotel it was always a third party’s problem and I never received an apology for the many problems I encountered during my stay, for example, the hotel did not have the promised Wi-Fi connectivity this was, according to the management, a third party companies issue and nothing to do with the hotel, I received no apology, no resolution was sort, the attitude of the management team was go away and find a solution for yourself.

The dirty towel found in my room was thrown on the floor as I handed it to the manager on reception, she did not apologies for this being in the room, just stated that this was the responsibility of the laundry company not her, her staff or the hotel, I beg to differ, this should have been checked before placing in the room for use by a guest.

As for other aspects of the stay, expect a long wait to check in, the hotel has long corridors so you might have a long walk to the room, and the cafe bar in my experience was unclean and freezing cold with an atmosphere of a works canteen where you do not know anyone.

The location is on the edge of the city, and free parking is on offer, yet those using public transport will find that they have a 15-minute level walk to the nearest bus where you can catch a direct bus to the heart of the city (20 minutes away) or to St Ives or Addenbrooke's Hospital.

A five-minute walk away is a convenient Tesco Express.

Located in the north of Cambridge in the new residential area of Orchard Park, it was very easy to find coming off the A14. What a lovely, modern and untypical area of Cambridge this is. Attractive apartment buildings with balconies. A large square at the centre with a row of shops including a Tesco Express. With the hot weather, it felt like I was visiting a Spanish resort.

The hotel is also new and has a very spacious lobby in addition to plenty of parking. All the staff were so friendly and when I reached the corridor to find my room, one lady showed me where it was and made sure everything was how it should be. Really nice! The room was perfect and tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. It seemed so quiet and peaceful after a hectic week at work. Visiting friends, I decided to book an extra four nights and so glad that I did.

Reaching the city centre is so easy either by car or by bus. Unfortunately, the bar and restaurant were closed due to the current situation.

One of the advantages of staying longer is that people get to know you and when I checked out, it was the same lady who had originally showed me to my room. People working here work really hard and deserve recognition.

I am definitely going to stay at this Travelodge again soon.

We booked early check in and arrived at 12.10 so went to check in and the receptionist said oh i will have to check if we have any rooms luckily they did because i thought that was the point of paying for early check in. The lady didn't give us any information about the hotel ie: food times, bar etc all she said was you may need your key to get back in if you come back late at night. I asked her how to get to Cambridge and she gave us directions to the bus stop which she said was about 10mins away but when we explored there was one just around the corner literally minutes from the hotel. Everything in our room was clean and tidy, we could of done with another chair as don't want to really sit on a bed whilst sorting out what we were doing for the day. You could easily fit in another small chair. It was quite hot in the room but a fan was supplied for your use of which we had on most of the night with the window open as it got very hot in the room so thank god a fan was supplied. The room was fine with everything we needed. The hotel is situated on a residential estate which i found in a nice quite area with a few shops literally around the corner which had a tesco express and the most magnificent indian restaurant that i woud definetly recommend to try as you won't be dissappointed. The Travelodge has a large free carpark which is a great asset and the rest of the staff we came across were friendly. Overall a great Travelodge out of the way of the busy Cambridge but has easy access to the city. The bus stops whilst we were there were temporary stops due to road works but it was better for us as minutes from the hotel. Get yourself a day pass which was £4.50 each but you can use as much as you want but be careful if you want to visit St Ives which is worth a visit you can't use that pass you have to purchase a day pass plus. We had a great few days and would recommend this Travelodge.

This Travelodge is one of the better ones. The carpet is in a good condition and there are only a few bumps and scrapes on the walls. It also has a bar/restaurant and there is a Tesco Express less than 3 mins walk away which makes it very convenient for snacks and groceries. If you have a car, it's a great location for getting to the Milton Park and Ride which only costs 3 pounds for an adult day return (kids travel free).

However, the modular bathroom is not that great and lacks enough hooks for hanging up towels.

A few minor gripes are that it would have been good if there had been more hooks or rails in the bathroom for hanging towels. There was some mould on the grouting around the bath tub. There is a gap between the soap dispenser and the sink so the water from wet hands drips onto the bin and the floor making it wet.

I have been staying at this hotel for the past two years and feel I can feedback with honesty. This hotel has become like my second home, I have watched staff that are good at their jobs leave to chase new positions within other establishments and this have been at a great loss to the hotel, But the management team have been constant and are at the core of the reason why I stay only here. The rooms are spotless the team deliver constantly the same level of professionalism week after week. I know my bed will have clean sheets, my toilet will be clean and my shower working. I know my breakfast will be hot the standard is good with the provisions given to the restaurant team, although my feedback for fried eggs has fallen on deaf ears!! And more importantly when I arrive on a Monday evening tired and hungry I know the team will welcome me in like a family member returning from holiday. So from me a business traveller its a high five, thumbs up and well done.

Stayed here for a week to visit friends in the area and it has been an enjoyable stay at the hotel. Very reasonably priced for one whole week, the location is very quiet and not too far from the city centre. Every night we came back to a very clean and tidy room, a thumbs up to the housekeeping Maria E. Highly recommend to anyone who wished to stay in Cambridge at a budget price.

The best things about it is that it is quiet, with the A14 just a 5 min drive away. None of the rooms have A/C; when it’s 25 degrees outside you need more than a window that only opens a crack. My big issue here is that Travelodge are still not openings their bars or restaurants. Why? The rest of the country have managed to do so, safely and sensibly, but not Travelodge. The breakfast box, in lieu of a proper breakfast, is pathetic. I was not aware of the infamous box when I booked; the website says “ with breakfast” and I saw no mention of the box, until we arrived. It may have been in the small print of my booking but I didn’t see it. The staff told me that in order to get a refund for the box I need to do so via the website, sadly this is not so. When trying to call to speak to someone, the automated response tells you that they are inundated and cannot deal with any booking amendments.
The £20 fee for a pet is also way too much, the vast majority of places that charge for a pet only charge £10.

I would think so as usually plenty of car spaces, would check with reception that's ok otherwise they may charge for an early check in, even if it's just your car arriving early.
