Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Three of us stayed here together with our cavapoo. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those with pets. The staff went out of their way to welcome our dog and our dog adored the reception team. The staff were amazing - really friendly, helpful and professional. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. It was spacious enough for us - with a queen size bed and a comfortable sofa bed. The bathroom was very modern and included a rainfall shower. The buffet breakfast was fresh and all items were well stocked. The hotel is ideally located for picturesque dog walks along the River Cam. There is an NCP car park next to the hotel. There is also disabled parking directly in front of the hotel. Particular thanks go to Genni (of the Italian block), Christoph, Ughelto, Neveq and Renouol.

Location - great as next door to train station which takes only 5 minutes into town centre. Also we discovered that it is a nice walk into town centre from the hotel. Car park is next door, however you have to pay for it. Room - we stayed as a family, so the sofa bed was out. It was a bit tight for space, but we needed a room to sleep with 2 kids, so did the job. The room was well equipped, good toiletries, nice towels, a comfortable bed, and a great power shower. Could not ask for more. Extra facilities - small swimming pool and sauna available and was a great addition. Breakfast was tasty and great value, definately.come back for it. Dinner was a bit more of a mixed bag: The hilight is kids deret brownie - it comes with brownie and kids can decorate it with various topings. The best entertainment ever! The rest was a bit of let down as we paid £90 for dinner of 2 main courses for 2 adults and 2 kids with 2 drinks. My salad did not have any dressing and had just leaves tossed on it along with plasticy chicken. The burger was very basic. So dinner was not what I would repeat, but breakfast was amazing. To add, some of the staff we interacted with we super great and enthusiastic.

We had a great stay at Novotel Cambridge North. The location is very convenient - right next to Cambridge North train station and a stone's throw from the River Cam. Getting into the city centre is a breeze, whether you hop on a bus or take a scenic walk along the river. The hotel itself is modern and inviting, with a fantastic breakfast selection. Highly recommend for an enjoyable stay in Cambridge!

The swimming pool facilities are NOT a wellness centre, more of a leisure pool full of kids and parents with no consideration or self awareness of others using the facilities. Ruined our visit for my husbands birthday. Other than the above, the hotel is clean and modern.

Stayed here for one night because it was dog friendly, however ‘friendly’ is an overstatement - I would say more ‘dogs allowed’ (no water bowls in common areas or rooms, no nice touches like treats etc). Front desk staff were rude and untrained. There are no phones in the rooms, so I called on my mobile and asked if they did room service (there were no menus or directories in the room either) and was told to WhatsApp message the number given at check in (which was on a business card and hasn’t been pointed out to me). I messaged the number, they took an hour and a half to reply by which time I’d ordered on deliveroo and eaten it. The following morning, I asked the front desk staff if I could get a coffee and sit in the lobby with my dog to which she said she didn’t know and kept telling me to go into the restaurant and ask (where the dog wasn’t allowed) - turned out the bar about 2m to her left served coffee but she had no idea. On leaving, the front desk staff were dealing with a difficult customer but the girl handling the complaint was rude and unprofessional (mocking the customer, saying she could stay there as long as she liked but nothing would change, sarcastic comments and faces). Rooms are well decorated and modern but lack basic amenities, no bottled water, room service menus etc.

Beautiful hotel. Really enjoyed our stay. Clean, smart, staff were great too. Had a swim and sauna in the morning, very nice. Breakfast was delicious too. Goid location, bus right outside goes straight into Cambridge, roughly 15 minutes drive, andcrun every 30 mins. 100% stay again.

Nice modern hotel. Staff very friendly and value was amazing. 4 of us stayed in a family room. Not the biggest room, but fine. Had dinner there which was nice. Gym and spa also high quality. Parking was on top, but easy to park and not a fortune. Location makes it easy to either drive or get the bus to Cambridge.

I’ve been a regular visitor to the Bar since the building opposite was an unbuilt 30ft whole in the ground. In these few years I have never had a disappointing experience. Super friendly, informed but informal service. Professional at all times. With just that bit of extra sparkle. Being, Genni, A blonde cocktail maestro from a couple of years back(can’t remember his name) And on many occasions. What is clearly a silky smooth outstanding front of house manger.( Always looking sharp, couldn’t pick the accent…. Dark hair, ponytail ) What a lovely place to spend and afternoon. Shame my little Dog isn’t with me anymore…

Decent hotel, nice rooms, lovely reception area. Good parking that is part of the train station which you need to pay for via an app. We got the bus into Cambridge which was better than the train as its more central. We got a taxi back to the hotel for about £15 via taxis at the taxi rank in the centre (near bus station). What lets the hotel down is we had no WiFi at all in the room and with a child, this meant we had nothing to watch but normal TV and we had assumed there would be wifi so had no downloads. I am not sure why this was, maybe the postion of the room or maybe because of the mobile network we are with but we basically had no signal for our own data to work and the hotel wifi was useless. There was also no room service options in the room so I'm not sure if the hotel do thisor not but some room service availability would have been good. Cambridge is a nice little city, perfect for a couple night out or girls night but it wasnt very family friendly. I probably wouldnt go again with young kids.
