The hotel Is lovely about 2 miles out of Cambridge but has beautifully and tastefully decor. Our rooms were spotless with dressing gowns etc. Could have done with out the fan on I couldn’t work out how to switch it off.
Drinks in the bar again lovely and stylish.
They Haven’t quite mastered room service for breakfast yet, it’s comes in a takeaway bowl with tin foil covering it not very appetising, the egg was stone cold and we had 2 different breakfast orders they bought both the same, my daughter can’t eat egg so that was one breakfast wasted. The toast was cold too. Tea and juice bought up in paper cups also not appealing.
We have no knives or forks, no salt or pepper or sauces, I would say probably the worst breakfast I have had in a hotel in a long time. Please ditch the paper cups and do pots of tea and coffee, ditch the takeaway style, use proper plates with domes on then to keep them warm. And give full cutlery And warm food .
Would I return , yes but not with the breakfast unless it had been greatly improved and they served off what was requested.

If you are looking for a hotel surrounded by ancient stone buildings ensconced on a narrow street, this is not it. Its located about a 40 min walk from the town center in Eddington (a new development). If you want clean, modern, quiet, bedecked in the Cambridge light blue and located in wide open spaces this is for you. The hotel was recently opened and going through some minor teething pains. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay. The staff were cordial and helpful. There is a nice coffee shop located in the lobby with coffee that is a cut above the usual hotel variety as well as a rather delectable chocolate croissant. There is a Sainsbury spitting distance away as well as a cafe & pastry shop (cafe Dulcedo) with desserts not to be missed.

The room was spacious for two but not huge. A generously proportioned shower with easy to work controls and a lot of cupboard space. The bathroom is equipped with an unobtrusive night light and towel warmers. However, they don't provide the little bars of hand soap or tubes of lotion. No doubt doing their bit to preserve us from the coming environmental apocalypse.

Having stayed both in the town center and here, we much preferred `here' in spite of the longish walk (there is a bus that takes about 10-15 min). The current price difference more than makes up for it.

Mixed bag to be honest.
First and most notably the hotel is not near the city centre so be warned. There is a bus that goes every 20 minutes but it finishes at 7.30pm so you’ll need a taxi home or a 45 minute walk.

Also be warned, if you drive. Despite being in the middle of nowhere, parking is privately controlled and it is pay to park with a maximum of 4 hours in the day. The hotel does have a small car park for £15 per day but there’s not enough availability for all guests so you’ll need to be lucky to get a space.

The hotel only opened in September so it’s bright and clean and the rooms are spacious with a great bathroom, although odd that the bathroom door is glass so you can see your room mate on the toilet.

Small but good gym and breakfast is in the restaurant next door but it is an independent restaurant so don’t except pastries, cereal, fruit, toast etc. You get a choice of 5 hot cooked breakfast but that’s it.

Sadly, the hotel does have a limited number of spaces on site but there are planty of spaces available at the Madingley Road Park and Ride located 5 minutes away from the hotel. It was good to read that you found the rooms to be bright and clean, we would like to tank you for your feedback in relation to the bathroom door, this is something that we have been made aware of and we are looking to change. I stayed for 2 nights in this new accommodation and I left with the best impressions. Great decorations in public areas and perhaps the most modern and best equipped conference and business meeting rooms I have ever seen so far in an accommodation. Located in a quite area with public parking and park & ride nearby with easy commuting to Cambridge or rent a bicycle or enjoy an off road walk from the hotel to the city's centre. It's a great complex of buildings which surrounded by greenery and beautiful trees. The KOTA restaurant has an excellent menu with reasonable prices and the Dutch Bar serves awesome cocktails. Ask the Boss there to tell you what inspired them to name it the ''Dutch Bar''....... There's a well equipped gym and top roof bar terrace. Nothing was trouble for the personnel and the management. I had a brilliant coffee at Hyatt's cafe and tasted some delicious croissants freshly baked in the kitchen's ovens. The room I rent was on the Hyatt's building (There's another building with LOCK brand) was stunning with a huge tv! I can't praise enough this accommodation, it's something that it has been missing from Cambridge. A true gem!

Booked carpark by emailing hotel straight after booking (2 weeks ahead) and had no problems they email a confirmation to tell you it is situated at Ryley Yard. £15 may seem steep but they charge £10 for 24hrs at Madingley park and ride which is an 8min walk so you pay for convenience. Reception is situated to side of entrance and looks like a coffee bar counter. The decor is really interesting a marriage between Brutalism and art deco. f you want to watch your partner sat on the toilet, the room is good for that, as a mirror opposite the glass bathroom door works a treat. I'm still trying to erase the images.Cover the mirror with one of the lovely robes they have in the room. The fan can't be switched off so if you find it difficult getting to sleep like me its a problem but others can and do still nod off easily. Didn't have breakfast because of reviews and cost but Dulce bakery next door and can go for brunch in Cambridge.
No hot food in evening at mo but I believe they have new restaurant opening early next year. Luckily pizza mondo mobile was in the square next door so we got these and they are amazing wood fired pizzas check their website to see when around. Bus service is just outside hotel and Uber to Cambridge around £11 outside peak hours. Warning if you walk in to Cambridge it's a brisk 37minutes so much longer if sauntering, I think you can borrow a bike from hotel but didn't see any info on this. It's a quite area so upgrading to courtyard room is not essential it's a nice garden but you are overlooked by apartments opposite. Sainsbury's is literally next door if you need anything.

Dear juliemF235TP, Thank you for taking the time to post a review following your recent stay with us at the Hyatt Centric Cambridge, we are always grateful to feedback from our valued guests and your thoughts are an invaluable tool for us. We are delighted that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay with us and that you found the rooms to be clean and the beds to be comfy. We would also like to thnak you for your thoughts on car parking, we do have limited spaces located onsite hence why we do ask that guests contact us in advance to reserve a space and as a result of reserving s aspace you are sent confirmation with directions to the car park. In terms of KOTA we do partner with a local operator to run the restaurant and they are coming to the end of their residency so as a result we have reduced the operating hours but we do offer food in our Dutch Bar which is available until late. We do offer bicycles for our guests and they are available upon request as long as they are not all in use which can happen in the summer months so we always advise to come down early to check on availability. Thank you again for your review and we do hope to have the opportunity to welcom you back in the near future. Kind Regards, Martin Newbould General Manager

Nice rooms and facilities, but very poor franchise restaurant with terrible service at breakfast. (We made sure we did not have dinner after such poor food, menu choice and service). No brown or white toast only sourdough no marmalade no Tea Pots just a bag in a small espresso cup. The restaurant staff did their best but everything you wanted had to be asked for (salt pepper jam butter more tea/coffee water never arrived)

The hotel has trendy decor with a laidback attitude - reception staff dressed very casually, (no uniform) guests dogs everywhere including the restaurant, Hotel security is a major overkill with swipe access to lifts car park and lift lobbies. The hotel is purpose built in a remote suburban area with expensive apartments and CCTV everywhere. No choice but to pay the £15 per night parking charge as the area is a controlled zone.

Dear ian692, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review following your recent stay with us at the Hyatt Centric Cambridge, we always look forward to hearing from our guests and feedback such as yours is a vital tool to help us to ensure that we provide the best possible service for our guests. Whilst we are pleased that you enjoyed the hotel facilities, it was disappointing to read that you had such a poor encounter with KOTA. We have passed your coments onto the team at KOTA as the restaurant is run by an independent operator that we have a partnership with. Feedback such as this will be utilised to improve their service. We are a dog friendly hotel and this benefits guests and local residents alike, we do strive ensure that no one is affected by the dogs and adds to the community environment we strive to create. This is a new hotel relatively close to the M11 and the Maddenly Park and Ride, within a whole new development of the city. You will need the park and ride to get into town as parking in the city is tricky; the service is every 9 mins, costing only £3 return.
The hotel rooms were a good size and the decor etc as you would expect for a new building, and the beds very comfy.
Ate in the hotel restaurant on Saturday evening, booking on line before hand. The food was well cooked and prepared and service sufficiently attentive. Overall a pleasant experience which I would be more than happy to revisit.

We booked a deluxe courtyard view and were given room 3002, next to the lifts. It was a largish bright room decorated in light blues with a comfortable big bed, a yellow sofa and another chair. There was loads of storage space; hanging rail plus wardrobe plus drawers.
The bathroom had a large shower with a motion-sensitive night light and an opaque glass door. Weirdly the big bottles in the shower are shower gel, shampoo and body lotion: no conditioner. Nice bath robes, though.
It was extremely secure: a room key was needed for both the lift and the corridor.
There is EV charging under the hotel, but there is no phone reception down there! We had to go up and outside to be able to register the car to be able to use it.
There is also a gorgeous rooftop terrace with seating. The location is some way outside the city centre of Cambridge, but there are a few places to eat nearby - and a Sainsbury's!

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Hyatt in Cambridge. My first stay was a lot better than this one. Unfortunately on arrival front desk informed us that the hotel restaurant and bar were closed, which given the location of the hotel, is extremely inconvenient. There was absolutely no advance notification of this inconvenience, no email or phone call. It is pretty bad when you pay 4* prices for a hotel, but only have 3* facilities. We ended up having a pre-dinner drink in a cocktail bar called Dutch, which is a short walk from the hotel, before taking an Uber into the city centre for dinner. I stayed in room 3001. Unfortunately this is a room for disabled people, which I did not require. By the time I had realised, I couldn’t be bothered to pack up and go down to reception to get moved. Just a little disappointing to be put in this room. The bathroom was a ‘wet room’ so the shower flooded the whole of the bathroom floor. It was really poor. On the positive side, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bedrooms are really nice and a good size. It is just disappointing to have to pay such a high price for a hotel which is effectively only a bed and breakfast right now. Apparently the restaurant and bar won’t be open for quite a while, until at least January 2023. I won’t be staying there again, until they re-open the facilities, but to be honest there are better, more convenient hotels in Cambridge.

Dear GoPlacesNorthYorks, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review following your recent stay with us at the Hyatt Centric Cambridge. We always appreciate our valued guests taking the time to share your thoughts on our property. We are pleased that you found the bedrooms to be a good size and the bed to be comfortable. If the hotel is not fully booked these rooms are not used but unfortunately on the night that you stayed we were fully booked and required to utilise these rooms too. We do understand you feedback in relation to the restaurant and we do apologise for any inconvenience. Our restaurant is operated by an independent local operator and their residency is coming to an end and we are in the process of starting the transition to a new operator in the new year. Answer from Martin N

Hi Kate, Thank you for your question, the hotel has limited spaces on site which must be reserved in advance by contacting the Front Desk team. The spaces are chargable at £15 per night and there are electric charging poiints available too. If we do not have any spaces available the local Park and Ride overs overnight parking for £10 per night and is located 5 minutes walk from the property. We would recommend that you do not utilse any parking spaces on the streets around the hotel as these spaces are chargable by the development and are patrolled by enforcement offiocers. I hope that this helps
