Our second staycation in 6 months and we chose the Victoria based on availability, proximity to the main amenities and their reputation for good service. We were not disappointed. Our room was very comfortable with the usual little extras in terms of tea and coffee, and a good range of toiletries in the bathroom. Complimentary towels for the beach were available and we were pleased to be able to make use of them! A wide ranging choice of dishes on the breakfast menu, all beautifully prepared and very tasty, and local produce where possible. The staff headed by Ally were friendly and extremely helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and will go back for more of their lovely hospitality,
Rooms are clean and well appointed and the staff are so friendly. Breakfast cooked by Ali is as good as it gets in any hotel anywhere! There is nothing to dislike and a quick walk across the road takes you to the Georgian where the staff and food are 10/10.
We stayed at the Victoria in August, enjoyed it so much returned for four nights in November. Ally is a great host, rooms are very clean and the breakfast are lovely, the compote is gorgeous, what's not to like? Will definitely visit again.
We planned to stay at The Victoria for two nights. We had a very friendly welcome from Ally on arrival and quickly settled in to our weekend stay. Due to Alderney weather we decided to stay a couple more nights and Ally sorted everything out for us so that we could stay on at the Victoria she even offered to lend us her car so we could go to the airport to sort out our flight (we didn’t need to in the end but what a lovely gesture). Ally and the whole team are so friendly and really make you feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. The whole place is relaxed and you can even help yourself to milk and water from the hotel kitchen fridge. The breakfasts at The Victoria are absolutely fabulous with a good range of cereals, yoghurts etc and an excellent choice of hot food. Everything is cooked to order by Ally and it all tastes great! I have stayed in many hotels and this breakfast is one of the best if not the best I have ever had. Their sister hotel The Georgian House is just across the road and has a great bar serving fantastic food. Their Sunday roasts are to die for!! Would definitely recommend a stay. …
Just came back to Guernsey after a 3 night staycation. The hotel is located centrally , the rooms are well equipped and clean . Our host was amazing and nothing was too much trouble . Breakfast options are extensive and also catered for vegetarians and gluten free . Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again .
We recently had a most enjoyable three night stay at The Victoria, Alderney. This was only possible because all Islands in the Bailiwick are free of Covid-19 and we have no local travel restrictions within the Bailiwick, although any visitors from outside are, at the time of writing, obliged to remain in strict quarantine for 14 days as soon as they arrive. This is closely monitored by the authorities. We were on half board terms, with the excellent breakfasts taken at The Victoria and other meals at The Georgian, just a few yards up the street. We could not fault either establishment. The staff at both establishments were polite, efficient, helpful and very happy too; locals residents all seem to value and appreciate the support of Guernsey visitors. We are certainly planning to visit Alderney more regularly and next time, I won't forget to pack my camera to record the abundant wildlife, including the blonde hedgehogs.…
We have just returned from a very relaxing 5 night Staycation in Alderney and enjoyed the accommodation at the Victoria Hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts are extensive, varied and set one up for the day. We hired a car and parking close by is not a problem.
First staycation since we could travel around the Bailiwick. Fabulous hotel made all the better by a wonderful host in Ali. She made us so welcome and served up a delicious breakfast. We were one of the first to stay and although not all of the Island was open everyone we met were so friendly and pleased to see us. Will definitely be back.
This is great place to stay, very central to local eateries and a good base for exploring the Island. The breakfast is plentiful and sooooo goooood, there is so much choice, not your run of the mill fry up I can assure you and really sets you up for the day. Our room was comfortable and sparkly clean with real coffee and tea pig teas. I would make this my 1st choice for B & B on the Island.
Did a one night stay at this hotel and found it excellent value for money. I had Room 2 which is a very attractive double with a lovely bathroom. Very comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent and they even cooked it early for us as we had an early flight to catch.
