Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovel hotel only a short walk from the city centre. Staff are super welcoming and can't do enough to look after their guests. We booked a small double room for 2 nights and were very impressed for the price we paid. £156. The room was small as stated but was clean and adequate. In the evening we chose to sit on the comfortable sofas in the reception area as there was no seating in our room. There is also a nice bar for evening drinks. Breakfast was excellent. A very good buffet table with cereals, yoghurt and fruit. Cooked breakfast was to order with plenty of choice. I thought the scrambled eggs were too dry but everything else was perfect. Free parking in the hotel carpark is also a bonus. Would definitely stay again.

I will never stay anywhere else in Chester or the North of England. The staff are amazing and couldn't help us enough. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food was amazing. Angela, Anna and Tatiana were amazing. Its like staying home form home. They found out it was my birthday, they got me a cake and a bottle of wine.

Very friendly staff and owner and there daughter and son . This was our 4 visit. On this occasion stayed in room 4 . Room clean .Nice spacious room ,decoration a bit dated. Bathroom very clean. The only thing I noticed was the bathroom ceiling over the bath . As I was in the bath .it looked like there was a leak or had been a leak. Stained watermarks .above. Stayed evening meal .OK first night a bit basic. Second and third night 100% better .I believe the chef was on holiday and he came back . Portions not big either. But the prawn cocktail and soup was amazing and fresh. The meat of the day was again. Pork ,came in chop form which I didn't really like . But it tasted better than it looked. Would have been 100% better with more than a few potatoes and a lot more veg .even for 1 person not enough. And missing Yorkshire pud. However it was nice and tasted good . . Pudding was amazing tho 😋 hoping the chef is back the next time we visit. And bigger Portions please . Hoping 2024 .they might do some updates of the decoration in restaurant and rooms .cause it definitely is a place to visit, especially for 100 % customer service x

Most of the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you . Food in the evening that we had was poor . Breakfast was OK. The room we stayed in Room 7 was very tired and the bed cover was torn and stained. On stripping the bed when it was time to leave we discovered filthy pillows with two pillow cases to hide the stains and the duvet was worse . We were quickly offered a refund once the manager was aware. However this didn't make up for how upset we were at having slept in that bed .

Pros - Has free parking and serves food. You get a swipe card to get in the front door and room. Solid bed. Nice and quiet area. Staff are ok and very helpful. Only a 10 min walk to Chester Center. Cons - shower a little weak, few creaky floorboards.

A lot of positives from our stay. •Location is great for city centre. Taxi ride cost approximately £5. • Very friendly & genuinely nice staff. • Very tasty cooked breakfast, plenty of choice & a good selection of cold breakfast too. •Good value for money. • Limited parking, but plenty of street parking nearby if car park is full. • WiFi is fast enough. • Nice bar, with good selection. Unfortunately, we have one big negative to comment on. Although our room was quite small ( which I was aware of from reading previous reviews) this wasn’t a problem as we wasn’t actually in the room much apart sleeping & getting ready. The negative is the bathroom !!!! This was very dirty, with lots of mould, lime scale & general dirt. The bathroom in room 23 is in need of a SEVERE DEEP CLEAN. We did inform reception when we checked out & they said they would look into it. So almost perfect stay if only the bathroom was clean

I would like to start by saying the staff are amazing and friendly. The room we had unfortunately was very small I would say it would suit a single person. Bedroom very clean. Shower had slight mould or shower glass at bottom. No wardrobe just a small opening with curtain and all odd coat hangers. It was OK tho for a couple of days . Breakfast was fresh. But no hash browns or fried bread which I thought would have been standard. Waitress was lovely and friendly. Evening meal was OK what we had seemed fresh. A little disappointed the menu was the same 3 days on trott .would have thought it was easier just to change the soup and pudding. If the cost was a factor. Overall is was good tho .so definitely worth it if you can't bothered to go out . Nice stocked bar and very friendly Jack. Very cosy hotel to stop .some areas need updating . Like carpet in bar / dining room .old fashion table cloths . Personally would get rid of them especially for Breakfast. Savings on the penny's x Really nice find tho ,lovely family and staff amazing customers service would definitely stop there again

A very friendly, homely place. Staff are extremely helpful and polite (Jack) We stayed for 2 nights in the small double room. Clean and functional. The location is fantastic for a quieter place outside the centre, and only a 10 minute walk into Chester center. Plenty of parking on and off site. The breakfast was amazing, a full buffet of cold breakfast items aswell as a full cooked breakfast with toast. Evening meal was lovely and cooked to perfection. Thankyou for a lovely few days. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From the warm welcome on arrival, the smiling staff throughout the whole weekend, the food, service and overall stay was wonderful. The staff made our 11th anniversary weekend very special, giving us a card and bottle of Bucks Fizz which was above and beyond our expectation and was greatly appreciated
