Booked this hotel as it was close to a family get together venue. checked in to reception for our 2 night stay , lovely lady, showed us to our room ( a superior double @ £124 a night ) the room was basic ,with bathroom , cheap toiletries, overlooking a very restricted space carpark. To get to our room meant...

After a long drive we finally found our hotel. We were welcomed by the lady on reception and directed to our room. The hotel is warm, cosy;very clean and comfortable.Food is fantastic and plentiful and the bar is reasonably priced. The decor in the rooms and stairways are a little tired but overall we loved it here.

We spent 3 nights at the Brookside and it was first class. After an initial upset about the level of one of our parties’ rooms, which I add, was sorted quickly and amicably, we soon settled down for an enjoyable three days. The rooms were spotlessly clean and serviced every day. The staff was all first class, Anna, Alma and...

Expected much from the reviews but in reality the Brookside is a Blackpool boarding house transposed to a Chester suburb! The superior double a gloomy room at the end of a maze overlooking the car park. The damaged shower valve just waiting to scald the unwary. Breakfast very average. Avoid.

Stayed here October 15th weekend - chosen off the Internet - so no prior knowledge - because of reasonable price and good location, close to town. It was a nice surprise. A warm welcome, helpful and attentive staff, food was excellent (both breakfast and evening meal) and bedrooms were cosy and comfortable. Perhaps it looked a bit care-worn, but this...

Firstly, I didn't stay here but I met my sister for breakfast. I was in this hotel for about 2 hours and I have to say the staff are lovely; the manager really keeps it running smoothly, and the breakfast omelette was the best I've ever eaten. How can a simple omelette be that good?? I was impressed and would...

Stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend. There was 8 of us for a reunion. Had dinner on the 1st night at the hotel as one couple were late to arrive. Dinner finished at 8.30pm and as I was concerned the late arrivals may not get to hotel on time, the reception staff recommended we get their order over...

Just had a lovely weekend at the Brookside hotel. We were part of a large group on an annual golf party. First impressions of the hotel was good. While the men in the group went off to play their first golf match of the weekend, the ladies checked in. We were early but that wasn't a problem. The staff of...
