I stayed in this B&B for a few days to have some quiet thinking time. It was a lovely room, good breakfast and very helpful owners. In the middle of the country side you do need a car really but there are some lovely walks in the area.

We received the warmest of welcomes by Pauline at Higher Huxley Hall, which is outside of Chester near the village of Huxley, which was a surprise and a bit challenging to find since the address just says "Chester." The Cheshire countryside is quiet and lovely, as is this B&B. Furnished in classic English style, our rooms were comfortable and homey although somewhat dated. We had an excellent hot breakfast with lots of side choices. The Sportsmans Arms nearby was recommended by Pauline and proved to be a good choice for an evening meal. The city of Chester and the cathedral are well worth a visit.

We arrived slightly after the preferred check-in time after travelling straight from work and were met with a warm welcome which immediately made us feel at home. We were shown up the amazing wooden staircases to our top floor room which was stunning and features many original beams and was of a very good size with en suite facilities and a large wall-mounted tv. The room was very nicely decorated with antique furniture and was spotlessly clean and had a lovely view of the gardens. We were given keys to the main door so were free to come and go as we pleased. The morning breakfast was plentiful, catering for all tastes and the full English breakfast was perfect! Pauline, our host, recommended the use of the nearby Park & Ride service into Chester which was quick and took us right into the centre. I cannot praise Higher Huxley Hall enough as we had an idyllic romantic getaway for Valentine's weekend and the extra touches such as home-made shortbread in the room made it extra special! We are already planning when our next trip may be and we are very much looking forward to staying at this superb house again! We would strongly recommend Higher Huxley Hall to anyone travelling to the Chester area! Thank you Pauline

We have just had a lovely weekend in this fantastic character property. Pleasant hosts, good spec room with a decent TV and a decent breakfast. Just lovely with no issues or concerns. The gardens are a feature and there is a pool (although we didnt use it)
