Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our son recommended Victoria Lodge as he had stayed there on two previous occasions. We were certainly not disappointed as we found the accommodation to be excellent. Our en suite room was large and bright with lots of extra touches that made it very comfortable and it overlooked a beautiful garden. Pam was very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. We had breakfast both mornings of our stay and it was excellent with fresh fruit, homemade jams and substantial 'full breakfasts'. We will definitely book to stay there again when we next visit family in Hoole.

Really can't say enough about this place.
Room was lovingly prepared for a 3 day stay by Pam, absolutely spotless and stocked up with plenty of coffee, tea bags, shower gel and soap to see the days through.
The garden is a beautiful space to relax in, as well as the lounge, which has plenty of board games, books and comfy chairs to sit in.
The cooked breakfast was made to perfection and Pam made sure she set me up for the day.
Pam runs this place with so much care and attention to detail and looks after you as if you were family.
I think the bed may just be the most comfy i've slept in.
So glad i happened upon this place a month ago, the last 3 days were blissful, and i'm hoping to be back soon.
Thank you Pam.

Lots of Love
Farid

We booked a short stay at Victoria’s Lodge as we were attending a wedding reception at Chester Zoo, which is conveniently located nearby. The many positive Trip Adviser reviews meant we had high expectations but even these were exceeded during our stay. Pam was a wonderful host. She accommodated a last minute change to our check-in times, even though it was inconvenient for her. She and her lovely home are warm and welcoming. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was generous and included quality muesli, fresh fruit and yogurt along with a superbly cooked full English, and homemade preserves (the damson jam is not to be missed). All in all a wonderful stay.

We have just had the privilege of staying with Pam for three nights during a wonderful visit to Hoole and Chester. Pam is a wonderful host our room was huge, spotless, with an enormous bathroom and located at the rear of the property overlooking the beautiful garden. Our breakfast was wonderful using local produce, cooked to order and added too by Pams homemade jams and preserves. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.

We stay here quite regularly when we go to Chester races and it is in a handy location for the bustling area of Hoole with lots of lovely bars and restaurants. Pam goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable and the breakfast is top notch. Lots of fresh fruit to go with yoghurts and cereal and homemade jams along with your choice of cooked breakfast. All fantastic produce.

We stayed at Victoria Lodge over a weekend while visiting family in Chester. The room was large, spacious and clean and the Victorian house is charming, warm and welcoming. Pam is a friendly and helpful host with lots of knowledge about the local area and we felt like she went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. We took the additional breakfast one day which was lovely – locally sourced food from shops in Hoole, alongside a selection of cereals and fresh fruit. Overall, we had a lovely stay, would definitely recommend the Victoria Lodge and will certainly stay again.

The breakfast was amazing value !! Yogurt , fresh fruit followed by superbly cooked hot full English breakfast . Toast and coffee There was also cereal if needed . I must make special mention of the delicious home made preserves. . I don’t know how Pam provides this for what she charges . We walked into Chester city centre in about 15 minutes

Hi, I stayed at Victoria Lodge for the best part of 2 months while working in the area.
Lovely accommodation in a great location close to plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
The whole place spotless and the Wi-Fi is good. My room had a huge 60" flat screen TV, Walk in shower, Sofa, Tea & Coffee Etc.
The bed was super comfy with quality linen and pillows.
The Host is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable of the local area.
All in all, a great place to stay.

We stayed here for 5 nights and made a great choice in accomodation. Pam was such a friendly and welcoming host, breakfast was very tasty.

The room was spacious and clean, best of all looked over the beautiful back garden. Despite being on a main road, hardly heard anything in the rooms. It's about a 15-20 mins walk to the city centre, perfect distance if you dont want to be disturbed by chesters nightlife.

We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay.

As always ‘ Pam the owner is the most gracious’ kind ‘ friendly and hard working host. Nothing is too much trouble and you feel like you are in the company of a friend . It’s a comfortable reassuring place to stay .
The rooms are comfortable and clean and as Pam does everything herself ‘ it’s quite the feat I would imagine. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. All in all ‘ a great place to stay and one I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again .
