Interesting pub, lots of war based memorabilia. As others have said the Landlord has a sense of humour. Basic English food menu shepherds pie etc. We just met for a drink a couple of reasonable ales on and Carling.

Located just off the wall in the centre of Chester, we spotted this pub when on a walk. Intrigued by the signs, we popped in for a quick drink. This is obviously a popular local-style pub, ideal for both the local residents and for visitors. Quirky humour is obvious throughout, along with a wonderful collection of memorabilia from through the...

Wonderful welcome from a young lady with a huge smile. Real fire giving a most cosy atmosphere. Delicious luncheon - locally sourced ingredients, very well cooked. Generous portions. Super flavours. Incredible atmosphere, World War 1 memorabilia adorning the walls A "MUST" Historical Location.

We saw this when walking the wall. Fascinating historical setting with the streets of terraced houses near by. So different and such a throw back inside to what pubs used to be like. Staff very friendly to us, Great real ale and food was so different and excellent for lunch time. really enjoyed our session there. The only irony coming...

My wife and I discovered this wonder pub as we walked around the walls of Chester. It looked so inviting, and we are so pleased we made the effort to investigate. What an experience, a real pub in the old sense of the word. we had a light lunch with wonderful beer, and will certainly return to stay in there...

The Albion is an institution! Nestled away in a quiet corner, best found by approaching on foot on the walls. Not for everyone - literally! Children are discouraged, as are rowdy parties. This is a quiet, characterful slice of history. Rooms full of WW1 and WW2 memorabilia make for great talking points. Good beer selections, favouring local breweries. The food...

We love to go to this great little traditional pub whenever we are in this area. Chester has a varied and eclectic mix of wonderful pub's,but this is in my opinion one of the best. We were here recently and popped in for a nice real ale,the pub was busy but not packed, just a nice crowd. We settled on a...

Well worth a break from a City Walls tour to pop into the Albion to have a wee refreshment pint. Right at the end of a terraced row of houses like pubs used to be years ago. Lovely experience. If your not sure what you fancy the licensee will assist you with a fine selection of Real Ales.

This is a very traditional pub tucked away from the main thoroughfares in Chester. Its over 30 years since I last visited, and its hardly changed!. But in good ways. There is no telly, or jukebox/sound system. The beer is superbly kept, and there are no yobs or pretentious types in here. Beer I've mentioned, but don't miss trying the...
