We had a standard room and it was very basic, as was an old mill the ceilings are low Good size pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. I also had a massage which was very good. Good bar which also serves food but we didn't eat there so can't comment. There was a live jazz band on in bar on Monday... More

Would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights and got our room upgraded. Ate in the restaurant 1st night, and it was lovely and £14 for 2 courses. Car parked and walked around chester shopping and walking the city wall.

All our family stay and always rave about The Mill but unfortunately our stay wasn't quite what we had hoped. We booked a Premium room with balcony and zacuzzi bath at B&B rate of £145. The room was way to hot when we walked in (and it was a real cold day), the radiator was bearly on and turning it... More

Overall this is probably a 2 star hotel as I t is very old fashioned and in need of a refurbishment. We stayed in room 404. I asked for a quiet room which it definitely was not. The room was located right next to a flyover so the traffic noise was horrendous. As well as this, the floors were creeky... More

Stayed there for a night with friends, and it was just perfect. Free car park is a bonus! The rooms were clean and modern with massive beds!!! Slept really well and thoroughly enjoyed the spa facilities the next morning! Will definitely stay there again!

The hotel looked really modern down stairs, reception staff very pleasant. Disappointed with room, very old fashioned. Faulty TRV meant we couldn't turn heating down so room was sweltering. Maybe we should have informed the hotel straight away but we opened window and went out for the day. Got back late and room still too hot. Unable to sleep we... More

Stayed here with my sister for 2 nights and i must say we really enjoyed it, checkin was swift and friendly and room requests were satisfied. The room wasnt massive but adequate for 2 people with very comfy beds and a clean fair sized bathroom with toiletries. A great tea tray with biscuits too. The restaurant was lovely, breakfast was... Have stayed at hotel many times, this was our first visit back since the refurbishment finished.Really liked the entrance and the extension & patio area at the front of hotel.Check in good, although reception staff could be a bit more friendly, they seem to tell you all the info that you need ,but with a tone that they are fed up with... Stayed lots of times. Prices gone up, service gone down. Bathroom dated, tv flat old picture, room hot although heating off and 8 degrees outside. Breakfast service not as usual , and hurry up clearing. Room more like B and B with fold sofa and extra mattress under bed, quilt coming out of split cover in two places. Resting on... More

Most enjoyable. Nice room overlooking the canal. My wife and I used the pool, jacuzzi and saunas (steam and dry). Good value. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is purely down to not supplying bottled water and the usual mini bottles of moisturising creams. Really minor points. The water would be a good move because we ended up... More
